The HB sounds great just like it’s supposed to. The Slick looks amazing and as said in other comments is a lot darker better for more metal tones . Great review.
Sooo many awesome riffs!!! 😎👌 I might have to steal most (ok ALL) of them! 👹 Loved the twangy-ness of the HB. My hearing is damaged though, and I seem to prefer brighter tones these days
Ha ha, you're welcome to appropriate as you see fit Steve 😉 Just give me a writer's credit if you ever make it on to Top Of The Pops with them! The HB is a lovely, twangy Tele, and I'm someone who loves a lot of top-end bite too. It's a must-try if you've not had one in your hands before...
Thanks a lot! Yes, 10,000 subs is on the horizon... it's been a long time coming ;) Try a Slick if you ever get a chance - they're such a different proposition that every collection warrants one!
Harley B much more mods available incl neck/ re scale,- and bridge line up / for later on but the slick is nice- just more modability in HB which sounds great good comparison Rich...thx
They look and sound totally different, but I like this comparison review and demo. Thank you Rich ! - Both Telecasters are great for its price range, but personally I already bought 2 Harley Benton TE-62cc. The first one I tested (in LPB blue color) was so good , that I bought a second one in a different color (dakota red) to upgrade and do some mods. These Harley Benton TE-62cc Teles are great for both beginners as well as pro players , which I have seen in some rock concerts. -- By the way, I would love to know what music riffs are you playing, so I can also try out playing the songs you´re doing. I am just a beginner player. Do you have the names of them ? Or some Guitar Tabs ? Thanks and cheers to you MAX
Thanks Max! That's funny... I've had a second TE-62CC on my wishlist for ages, to mod in the same way as you! Still haven't done that though, as this one is just so good! It almost feels like it doesn't need any mods! Glad you enjoy the riffs too! Actually, most are originals I write myself, although some are clearly influenced by certain bands. Any specific ones you want to know? I quite often get this question so maybe I should do a video where I show off a few of the most popular ones and how to play them :) Cheers and rock on!
@@RichWordsMusic Thanks for all the cool reviews. Yes, I think you should give us some cool RIFF Lessons with some of the songs you usually play on your demo-Reviews. Its always great practice for all to learn some new tricks. Here is a cool idea for your channel. One type of video which has never been done and I know people would enjoy it, is to not only do a DEMO-Review of a new guitar, but also show the people a 2 or 3 minute RIFF (with tab) and how to play the song, using the new guitar. Why not mix a guitar review with a guitar lesson together ?!
Aesthetic-wise, the Slick wins hands down over the been-there-done-that Harley Tele clone. However the more trad Tele tone of the Harley really cuts through. I was surprised how much I loved it. If it's truly a Tele like tone your going for on a budget but don't want yet another ho-hum clone, consider the Slick SL50. The SL50 is similar to the SL55 but long scale with two more traditional Tele style pickups. I'd love to hear a head to head comparison of the SL50 to the Harley Benton TE-62CC. BTW, great playing!
This Slick guitar is really special. It looks good and I like the brass hardware. The Slick sounds darker than the Harley Benton and has not the sparkling tones, but especially for rock and hard rock a really good choice. I was on the website and found a yellowish Telecaster. I like it, but it is aged and I don't like aged guitars at all... The only Telecaster that I played was a Sire Larry Carlton T7 antique white in a guitar store and it had also a darker but very good sound. I still haven't a Telecaster in my collection. I have to try some more to find the one that is made for me... There are so many wonderful guitars, it's hard to find the right one, especially if you can't hold it in your hands and play it before you buy it. But I have found a guitar store that has some of the Slick guitars. I will plan a day just for testing guitars, maybe with friends and we will have a lot of fun. They have also some Mayones 7 string guitars, but that's for my dark side of music... 😉
Depends what you are looking for I guess if you want a Tele get the HB but if you want a more rounded guitar get the Slick but Harley Benton do a guitar similar to the Slick with filtertron style pickups I think they are FLT TE or something like that you should try it out I don't think it's anywhere near the price of that Slick 😏👍🤘
Pickups are wildly different, finish and aesthetics completely different, and build quality are probably similar. They are different enough to me to say, "Why not have both?". If you want traditional get the HB, if not maybe choose the Slick.
Yep, that's pretty much the exact conclusion I came to - both is the right answer! And, if you've only got the means to get one, the HB will give you the traditional Tele experience, and the Slick will give you something wilder and whackier.
Yep, they're awesome and different guitars for sure, but all of the Slicks I've held (including this one) have been erring a little towards the heavier side of things... this one's OK at around the 8 lbs. mark, but I wouldn't want to go much heavier than that.
Yeah, I noticed that... sorry :( That's definitely a win for Harley Benton here - as cheaper brands go they offer a pretty decent number of left-handed options.

Love the look of the Slick, but the HB sounds better to my aging ear (that loves a bright pokey sound)
I love a light of high end clarity too (guess my ears are aging too), and the HB definitely wins out in that regard!
HB pickups seem quite hot !
They do have a fair bit of poke to them!
A slick with P90's would do nicely
Would be a great option!
Sooo many awesome riffs!!! 😎👌
I might have to steal most (ok ALL) of them! 👹

@@RichWordsMusic Ha! Great stuff mate! I might hold off for one of the relic ones 😁👍
I appreciate the hard work it takes to get things like this video'd, much less recorded. Hats off to ye both.
Great comparison, as always! Really interested in Slick guitars, but I'm more on the culling side right now. Soon 10 000 subs, mate!
Yep, the HB definitely has more easy mod options, I agree! The Slick is almost already like a pre-modded guitar... thanks for watching and rock on!

I love the look of the lake placid blue Harley Benton, and I thought It sounded great.
Yeah, it's a classic Tele look and sound - one of my absolute favorites too :)
The Slick sounded a fair bit darker than the HB!
It definitely is, and lower output too... certainly a nice alternative for some things!

Excellent comparison, I have a HB of this type at home, it is a very nice guitar for reasonable money (grey color). Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍

The slick has a bit more clarity of note but both are great options
I know, right? A proper looker. Sounds great too... I'm torn!

Blue is chachipiruli. Yo la tengo.
Blue guitars are the best!
I've had Slicks, they're cool, but too heavy for old backs....

Thanks my friend!
Oil Slick !
You know it!
Slick make some good looking guitars, unfortunately not for lefties
Yeah, I noticed that... sorry :( That's definitely a win for Harley Benton here - as cheaper brands go they offer a pretty decent number of left-handed options.
@@RichWordsMusic yes, they have a great range for us lefties, I have a few.
Slick guitar in europe 439 euro....HB 159..... so what are you actually comparing?
I'm comparing the two guitars ;)
