    When I wanted to put my Tele together I thought for a long time about all these different variations but in the end I just wanted it lightweight and with body contours like a Strat as the traditional hard edges I find super annoying. In the end I kept an eye on the inventory until a super lightweight Swamp Ash OG Tele body appeared and I didn't have to wait too long to get the contours cut. I spent the next couple of months staining and finishing and assembling but it was a really satisfying project and the finished instrument is now my main number ONE. Proving yet again that Leo got it right the very first time.

    I purchased a Warmoth traditional '72 Thinline body, used two original '72 issue WR HB's for a Tele partscaster build. All routs were diminsionally perfect and correctly located. The ash body was fine sanded and flawless, needing very minor grain fill & sanding for the natural, clear nitro finish. Very happy with the body and excellent quality.

      On a side note, for me, the Tele body with all three carves including the heel cut are probably the most comfortable body style to play if you’re sitting. It just fits in your lap real nice and doesn’t want to fly outta there when you let go of the neck. I love them all though.

    I was gonna contact warmoth for a tele body with a neck pocket for a Jackson style neck.

  • @donald-parker
    @donald-parker День назад

    Great summary. Regarding the 7/8 body, maybe things have changed, but I built myself a 7/8 strat decades ago and used a custom Moses Graphite neck. The neck was a normal sized neck for a tele or strat BUT I had them do a 24.75" scale, which gave me a 24 frets on a neck that would normally only have 22 frets with a 25.5" scale. I never had any problems with intonation or fit. So, at lest in my experience, there was an option for necks besides your Warhead neck. Do you think my approach would work on your new 7/8 bodies today (i.e. standard sized Fender neck with 24 frets placed for a 24.75" scale)?

    • @warmoth
      @warmoth  День назад

      That's essentially what the 7/8 neck is: a 25.5" scale, 22 fret neck blank reworked for 24 frets and a 24.75" scale. If you haven't already seen this vid you should check it out. It explains everything: ruclips.net/video/WLLBquv-OD4/видео.html

    • @warmoth
      @warmoth  12 часов назад

      For a solid body I would just go with the regular old Tele. For hollow, the regular Thinline will meet all your requirements.

  • @Unchainedmaple888
    @Unchainedmaple888 День назад

    I think that for the 7/8 bodies strat or tele should come with the new all access ergo bolt on joint since it only works with a 7/8 Warmoth neck anyways

    will the pickup route on the 72 deluxe fit 2 P90 pickups?

  • @fm9572
    @fm9572 День назад

    *I have a question*
    Can you get either a Tele body or Strat body routed for Jazzmaster pickups?
    I've been wanting to build either a Tele or (gasp) an SG style body with;
    Jazzmaster Bridge and Neck pickups, a standard 3-way switch in either the Custom (upper body) or classic location, with 1 meg Volume and (possibly) TBX Tone pots in the 2V/2T Les Paul layout. Considering a Bigsby, leaning more towards a set bridge with brass tuners and nickel hardware.
    I just haven't seen many bodies besides Jazzmasters routed for JM pickups. P90's on everything. No Jazzmasters. 'supwidat?
    If you folks have something, or could do something, I'd really be interested. Thanks.

    What is a wide range humbucker? How does it differ from a regular humbucker?

    • @warmoth
      @warmoth  День назад +1

      In a nutshell, the WRH was Fender's take on the humbucker pickup design, from a time when they were trying to create a product that could compete with the Les Paul. It's basically a humbucker that is a tiny bit bigger than standard, with a different mounting system.

    • @mghumphrey
      @mghumphrey День назад

      @ Thanks, Aaron. Doesn't sound like theirs any advantage to it over a normal humbucker.

    What about the S/T and T/T double necks? 😅
    I understand that it might not fit under the label of "vintage" but personally I'd love to have a chambered tele body with the vintage perimeter. Is that something you'd consider offering as an option in the future?

    • @warmoth
      @warmoth  День назад +1

    OK, perhaps this is stupid but I'm just verifying my options. Suppose I want a Tele with a standard Tele bridge pickup and two other pickups (Firebird mini-humbucker, Fender wide range humbucker). I also want a vibrato and I'd like it to end up weighing less than 8 pounds. Would this combination be impossible? Or just limited to one or two body types? Thanks!
