I have to say- I lost about half my hair during the time I did keto. I attribute this 100% to the fact that I was restricting protein to stay within the macros. I always sensed I was eating too little protein but was losing weight & hesitated changing anything. Now that I no longer restrict my protein whatsoever my hair has bounced back. For reference I am 32 no health problems and normal bloodwork.

yes but be careful,allthough most of what he said is true,he still has a personal agenda with those videos,as he wants to promote his meat eating keto diet.But ive been intermitent fasting with vegan food,and i never was deficient in anything,i need a lot of varieties of veges.But i never had any thyroid problems as i get all my vitamins A,theyre in almost all veges available at growsories,and in fruits too.
@@90Tornade Its not that he has an agenda, it's you who has the agenda(the I dont want to hurt or eat animals agenda). The science shows animal products are best. I've been both vegan and keto. You can do either but you must be much more careful and diligent as a vegan and most people arent. So before you try to spread your agenda and hurt someone's chances for better health, let the person try both and see what works best for them.

We’ve been Keto for several months now; and both my husband and I are amazed at how many of our more serious health issues (diabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis, insomnia, and a kidney-cancer survivor) have been greatly diminished or eliminated so far, though we’re both in our mid-70s. Now, we’re starting to figure out how to properly address some “smaller” issues (hair loss being one), as they may also improve, because of your very helpful information and advice. Both yours and Dr. Ken Berry’s videos are invaluable to so many of us who are dealing with the somewhat limited success (and lousy side affects) our “conventional” M.D.s have offered through their reliance on Rxs to squash symptoms, rather than to actually tap into the body’s amazing healing ability when supplied with the proper dietary fuels to be able to do so. Thank you forever, as I agree with pichichibravo’s comment, though there are a few others of yours, Dr.Berry’s and Thomas DeLauer’s I would also include. Your work is sorely needed, both as a researcher and as a teacher, for those of us who appreciate the difference in being given intelligent, natural choices that truly benefit us instead of the AMA’s and pharmaceutical’s conventional approach which often is: “Here, take these pills”. Addressing symptoms, but not the underlying reasons for them, may be expedient for them, but not nearly as helpful for patients who blindly take the advice that Rxs are the “best” and “only” way to address health issues, as we did for many years, but only got a bit worse. Don't forget about copper. It can prevent graying and can change the hair color back. At least my experience. My hair use to be gray and fall out by the handful. Now only lose about. 7 hairs. So few I can count them when washing my hair.

I struggled with the keto diet too much, I just felt exhausted. We're supposed to enjoy the food we eat and with keto that's close to impossible. That's why I tried the Agoge diet and it works great.
So, I was on accutane that is a pure form of vitamin A and my hair was AMAZING! Thinking and longest is ever been, came off and my hair fell out. My skin has also gone back to being bad, not only this, I always complain that the cold hurts my skin and this is a symptom of thyroid issues. Makes so much sense!!
🙏🏽 I needed this. I took my focus off my hypothyroid last year to concentrate on keto tho I have persistent symptoms (hair loss, feeling cold, poor night vision). This is the nudge I needed that the thyroid still needs to be dealt with. Perhaps the main reason my fat loss on keto has stalled
Keto will ruin your thyroid function in the long run, being cold is directly related to hypothyroidism. If your morning temperature is less than 98/36 degrees you have a slow thyroid and being on keto any longer will ruin not just your thyroid but also liver, kidneys and brain etc

My hair thinning slowed down when i increased physical activity and hydration. the benefits of increased circulation that i saw were relief from feeling cold all the time, i sweat a lot more, and my hair loss slowed down considerably. then my schedule changed when I got a 2nd job, old habits crept back (not moving enough, not hydrating enough, not sleeping enough), so hair is shedding again. I'm using warm oil scalp massage with Ayurvedic herbal formulas twice a week and that has been helping.

Last year I kept strict keto for 2 months while taking minerals and supplementes to avoid hair loss. After I stopped keto within 2 monts my hair started falling incredibily heavy until I lost at least half of my hairs. It was like I had chemotherapy and was visible to everyone that I har few hairs left. Untill today my hair still didn t recover, not even 10% but kind of stopped falling. Thyroid analysis and all blood test had been fine and no deficiency. All this period I constantly supplemented D3, hair supplements, iron etc. so yeah, my experience.

My hair is falling out massively on keto. I do eat liver once a week and eggs, green and fish oil supplement daily. I also eat meat and/ or fish daily. Not sure what’s going on but might try and add a zinc supplement to see if that makes a difference. I also have sever bile acid malabsorption; maybe that’s the main problem...
Me too same as you , i take zinc but i found out recently that it may be the flora in my gut i have history of taking antibiotics , i started taking dr berg probiotics and it really helped so far , my hair loss stoped and i have some hair growing back not so much though it needs time i think , try taking good probiotics or check on your bile salt or stomach acid !

nope its not gonna grow back....if you worry about hair loss just get hair transplant...In the future stem cell might be able to bring the dead cells back to life but right now there is no cure for hair loss...
Dr Berg please do a video on Liver connection to hair loss. I started Keto and IF for my acne. it did wonders with many more benefits.I did everything right.(getting all the nutrients, supplements, having ACV for digestion,...) but I overdid fat/meat per meal. because I was trying to gain muscle at the same time and ended up having constant constipation and other Liver problems (like scars on my foot,...) and than lost a lot of hair which hasn't come back. I focus-tested different things,(like changings in IF, adding carbs,...) and I am sure it was due to "having more protein than I could digest per meal" (I wasn't even doing that much meat but everybody's body is different) That Hair Loss is the only reason I eased down on the keto and IF. it doesn't happen to everybody and there are false info out there. like saying it's due to stress from fasting. I had done everything said in this video and still suffered from Hairloss. so please consider making another video after looking into the Liver connection
Another content creator doctor here on YT says shellfish isn't good for those with thyroid problems, particularly autoimmune. I think it's important to distinguish between hypo and hyper. It's hard for me to distinguish whether this video applies to just those with hypo, hyper, or both.

My hair was getting thinner and i was losing it. It was going towards male pattern baldness. I was looking for medication and buying things like saw palmetto pills and anti-hair loss shampoos. So I started keto in February of 2020 my TSH used to be around 1.5 up till may 2020 I just did my blood test in August of 2021 and my TSH is 7.22🤔🥵 plus I developed bad constipation…. I need help

I got this experience first hand, when i was on keto my self, i was 23 y.o 89 kg back then i did keto and down to 70kg which is good. But then losing hair so much. i did ate alot of meat and liver and zinc supplements, but i have learned that the thing that made my hair falling so much is because the lack of fructose. the fruits in diet. fructose is actually good if you get it from fruits (not corn) , because fructore makes your liver works well, while keto without fruit diet tent to make liver sluggish. Now i am 25 y.o, I add fruits like manggo, orange and guavas too the diet and start recovering, but the balding area (M shape male pattern) is harder to recover. Genetic and epigenetic plays role here. So be careful Any similar experience?

Is it normal for eyesight to become blurry on keto? My eyesight has gotten worse over the last week since I started keto. I wear glasses and still struggling to read even with bright lights. I often need a magnifier or have to put my face very close to the screen in order to see. I'm also planning on getting a hair transplant next summer. Will this affect anything?
I take 112mg synthroid daily along with 3 doses fasting 6-8hrs apart 5mg cytomel. Oh and no gallbladder. So am I just screwed or will eating eggs butter etc help with hair loss?
So how can you tell if your liver is damaged? I know it has to be severely damaged before jaundice occurs. Let's say hypothetically a person drinks 6 alcoholic drinks every day for two years. They notice hair loss, including the eyebrows. They are also cold all the time and now have tinnitus. How would you fix that and could it just be a lack of vitamin A absorption?

No need to hurt yourself with the keto diet. It's just a matter of calories in, calories out. Following a structured and diverse diet like the *Agoge diet* helps a great deal though.
I am losing so much hair on keto diet,I eat liver,fish,octopus,shrimp,red meat,eggs,a lot of vegetables,seaweed,avocados almost every day but still losing hair,now i am taking vit B complex supplements hopefully will help

My hair is falling out also and I just got tested for Vitamin D and it's really low, so maybe check your levels.

Seen a video about this but not as detailed.
My hair was getting thinner and i was losing it. It was going towards male pattern baldness. I was looking for medication and buying things like saw palmetto pills and anti-hair loss shampoos. Nothing worked except Keto. Since i switched my diet into Keto, my hair is significantly alive and better off.

Due to its high Vit. A content, I take 1/4 tsp. of cayenne paprika powder every day, sometimes every second day - depending in how much I use in my food on a particular day.

I fixed my diet and take supplements, but my hair does not come back, at least not on my head, i have to shave and cut my nose and ear hairs twice a day now.

I’m still struggling with hair loss everyday... I took all the supplements, eating enough salt, eating a lot of veggies and meat. I learned from some people who suffered from hair loss on keto have hair regrowth by uptakes protein, but I didn’t see a lot of difference myself...I don’t even know whether I should keep doing keto coz I already lost like 40% of my hair....started from a year ago

Noor Huda , don’t be sorry! We all have to listen to our bodies and have to do adjust our food lifestyles to what we can adapt to. I went proactive because I lost hair when I did keto years ago but this year when I wanted to try again I upped my protein and took collagen peptides supplements in my daily bulletproof coffee. So I’ve lost 30 lbs since January and kept my hair loss to a normal healthy minimum

Dr Berg just knows what I need. After getting covid19 my eyes seems to be blurred and my hair starting dropping like crazy. Last night my eyes were just feeling so bad. I dont know how much zinc is good a day.

I got this experience first hand, when i was on keto my self, i was 23 y.o 89 kg back then i did keto and down to 70kg which is good. But then losing hair so much.
i did ate alot of meat and liver and zinc supplements, but i have learned that the thing that made my hair falling so much is because the lack of fructose. the fruits in diet.
fructose is actually good if you get it from fruits (not corn) , because fructore makes your liver works well, while keto without fruit diet tent to make liver sluggish. Now i am 25 y.o, I add fruits like manggo, orange and guavas too the diet and start recovering, but the balding area (M shape male pattern) is harder to recover. Genetic and epigenetic plays role here. So be careful

Un-medicated.. I have virtually no TSH and way more T3 than needed + autonomous nodules. The last thing I need is more T3. Now I'm wondering which nutrient I have too much of.

Is it normal for eyesight to become blurry on keto? My eyesight has gotten worse over the last week since I started keto. I wear glasses and still struggling to read even with bright lights. I often need a magnifier or have to put my face very close to the screen in order to see.
I'm also planning on getting a hair transplant next summer. Will this affect anything?

So how can you tell if your liver is damaged? I know it has to be severely damaged before jaundice occurs. Let's say hypothetically a person drinks 6 alcoholic drinks every day for two years. They notice hair loss, including the eyebrows. They are also cold all the time and now have tinnitus. How would you fix that and could it just be a lack of vitamin A absorption?
Check your morning body temperature, if it's not near 98/36 degrees than this is sign of slow thyroid which is correlated with bad liver function.

No need to hurt yourself with the keto diet. It's just a matter of calories in, calories out. Following a structured and diverse diet like the *Agoge diet* helps a great deal though.
My friend just had her gallbladder removed, what dose of vitamin A is best and what source? Supplement zinc as well?
I am losing so much hair on keto diet,I eat liver,fish,octopus,shrimp,red meat,eggs,a lot of vegetables,seaweed,avocados almost every day but still losing hair,now i am taking vit B complex supplements hopefully will help

Does low thyroid have anything to alopecia hair loss? Especially if it's long term? It's been classified as an autoimmune disease, but not sure if that's been proven.
