    Keytruda side effects destroyed my thyroid function. My oncologist required I drink 4 quarts of water daily. My endocrinologist didn't know and I was washing the levothyroxine out of my body without its benefit. So, always take the meds on an empty stomach and wait several hours before eating or drinking anything. Minerals will chelate the meds also so wait several hours if supplementing.

    I've had a total thyroidectomy after graves disease. Since doing keto 9 months my thyroxine had to be reduced from 175mcgs to 150mcgs. My latest check last week was that my levels were still borderline but we're not considering reducing it again till my next check. My dr is very thorough. She treated me for h pylori last year and I'm wondering whether I'm now absorbing nutrients and medications alot better.
    Either way I'm happy. I've lost 19kgs but still have high bp but I've reduced anti depressants by half thru keto. I'm 65 and looking forward to a much healthier retirement. Love these videos

    One thing that is complicated is that insurance companies don't pay for the natural thyroid meds, which cost a lot of money, whereas the insurance companies will pay for the levothyroxin and you only pay pennies for it. Very hard for people on fixed income.

    I have hasimotos plus take t3 and t4 meds, but doing keto for 4 years has made my hypothyroidism go erratic.dr changes my meds to try to level it out, not doing it though. Funny, I can’t tolerate the heat, I love feeling cold air cond or fan. Have it on day and night all year,and here in Perth it gets very hot , and I can’t take it. Love our mild winters, never wear any jumpers or warm clothes. Wonder why I don’t feel the cold, my daughter has the same condition, but wears a jumper even in summer. -how keto helps with managing hypoglycemia (particularly in pre-type II diabetics not on medication)

    I like that you at least mentioned Hyperthyroid. I have Grave's Disease and my endo says what I eat has no effect, but I have found a correlation between fasting and having a flare. I do understand correlation is not causation, but I shy away from fasting because of this. Unfortunately, I cannot find ANYTHING about keto and hyperthyroid since it isn't a common issue. At this point, I am taking methimazole and I have told all my numbers are good, but I do still have fairly frequent hot flashes. The hot flashes are not related to menopause since that has been over and done for years. I am staying on keto, but it would be nice to hear something about how it might affect hyperthyroidism.

    • @adorableadornments1101
      @adorableadornments1101 3 года назад +2

      I have been told that giving up caffeine might help with the hot flashes. Thyroid meds, no matter whether they are natural or synthetic also raises blood sugar which makes it difficult to deal with diabetes, even when on keto.

    I have had hypothyroidism over 20 years. For the past six years, I have eaten an AIP diet because I have been diagnosed with mold toxicity. I take binders, use an infrared sauna and am trying to tolerate anti-fungals like Argentyn 23 and nystatin… but it is hard. Oddly, I have gained 30 pounds in the last 3 years and it is so stubborn. I’ve tried intermittent fasting and a low carb diet… which throw off my medication levels and make day to day life difficult… but I am so sick of the excess weight. Right now (while medicated with levoxyl), I have slightly elevated TSH and a slightly lowered T3. It’s soooo aggravating.

Ive been medicated for Hypothyroidism with desiccated pork thyroid, Nature-Throid until they shut down production, now I’m using a compounding pharmacy. But I have not heard any doctor discuss thyroid goiters and what’s going on with the thyroid when you have them. Does Keto have an effect on goiters?

Only good thing that Keto diet did good for me was joints don’t hurt as bad as it did before. I look little slimmer but scale says I haven’t lost. Maybe I was bloated? I’m just watching this and wanted to ask why would my thyroid levels drop? To start with I only have half my thyroid, they took out half of it in hopes it might work again, never has and been on meds ever sense. I started doing carnivore to help with gut issues, my dr was okay with it until we did some testing and it showed my BUN as high and my cholesterol is already high,but went higher. So I did as she asked and tried doing more low carb. We tested again and the BUN is going down a little and so is my thyroid. TSH is high 5.790 Triiodothyro nine, free serum is 1.6 and T4 is 88. Why would it be going low? Hopefully some can answer this.
