I bought mine in November....I bought mine from a dealer. Spring Water Design, in Columbia MD....I was able to get free installation.... I have quilted 2 small quilts so far. I also got the the 2 ft extension for a 10 foot frame. And I was able to choose free shipping or free light kit...I have the light kit.... I was so excited when the strong UPS driver delivered it....2 weeks before Christmas...I had to wait another week for D& B to set it up....it's Amazing.... AM I to also register with handy quilter .... I know D & B had we sign paperwork??? Ruler quilting, tricks, different feet, also I believe there other accessories to be had.😁😁😁😁💖💖💖💖
I am so glad to see you have a Moxie. I have reviewed this at the dealer and I am ready to make my purchase. Learning along with you will be awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Vanessa, Thanks for a good overview of setting up the loft frame for the Moxie. This is a purchase I’m currently considering. This is an entry level long arm and I’m interested to see how you think it compares to the higher end HQ machines or their competitors. Smoothness of stitching? User friendly controls? Pantograph options etc. Thanks!
So exciting, I would love to know what reasons made you buy this brand over the other brands (pros and cons) that you found. Can't wait to see videos on it. :-)
I got the Moxie the beginning of December. I am really enjoying having it. I have quilted two queen size quilts and a lap quilt on it. I suggest you go try one out at any Handi Quilter representative. I got mine at Stitched with Love in McKinney TX, they are awesome. I have been making quilts for three years now, am so happy to be able to quilt on a long arm. Go for it!
I'm also in the DFW area, have been quilting around the same length of time as you and am looking into buy a HQ LA. What size frame are you using? Did you find the throat space to be adequate for a queen quilt once you're toward the end of quilting and the majority of your quilt is rolled up into the throat?
I thank you so much for this video you’re the only one that did a closer up of putting it together. I am ready to do my daunting active getting mine together. Again thank you so much for the video and all the videos you do
A video showing how to quilt in the ditch. A second video is echo quilting. A third video which would be helpful is using simple straight ruler. Thank you. Take good care. I have an Amara for over a year. I love it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this tutorial. I have been thinking about getting a Moxie. I appreciated that you put it together yourself. Especially liked your extra tips. You are a great teacher.
I wd like to be able to see the setup in regular speed mode not fast even tho the video will be much longer. Some people r better learners when they can watch a video in regular speed as well as having the printed directions available to look at while watching the video. Seems fairly simple to put together. Hints were VERY helpful. Thanks
Vanessa, sooo happy for you! I remember your video from years back. You were a big help for me to learn how to load quilts. I would like to know what threads work best by brand and weight. Also, a refresher on tension issues is always helpful. 😊
I have a HQ 16 for over two years now... I would love a new frame... I have the original and it stags a little in the middle. Good tips for setting up!
I am just starting to look at long arms and have used HandiQuilter machines in the past. I am curious about this one, but like you suggested, I am going to take my time. :)
Vanessa, I’m so excited I came across this video. I previously owned a millennium and ran a quilting business. But I downsized and sold my long arm. I am missing it terribly, (not the business part, but my machine) but need something smaller. I am seriously considering buying a Moxie and would love to hear your experiences with it.
I've ordered one with the loft frame too. I'm in the UK though so it won't arrive for a few weeks yet. This video will help keep my excitement up about it arriving and me actually having a long arm this year! Squeal!
A great video that would be super helpful to people thinking about jumping into owning a long arm would be a video about the start up cost. If not a whole video at least a portion of one. What does it cost after buying the machine to go from set up to a finished quilt? I think I can afford this machine but an worried about the costs that I don’t know about. Special Thread etc.
Are you impressed with the stability of the frame? Is the Moxie a “manual” long arm only or can you use programmed designs the machine can do on its own?
I'd love to see video on how to load a quilt. Are there options on how to set up the frame to load the quilt in an alternate way? I'm new to longarm quilting, so I don't even know the basics yet. Thanks!!
So I really really want a long arm, kinda scared as it all new, it's like buying a car and not knowing how to drive. Looking forward to all your videos 😊.
New to long arm sewing. Do they have preprogrammed stitching in them or is it all free motion and rulers? I have a regular machine exspensive and i love the quilting stitches that came on it.
Thank you for this video. Can you do a video about how you attach the leader cloths and your quilt sandwich? Can you show how to thread the Moxie? Can the Moxie use ProStitcher? Can you give a tour of your studio? I hope I'm not being greedy! Thank you.
Vanessa or anyone. I need to get some feedback from longarm quilters. I decided to go with the Babylock Gallant which is the same as the Moxie. There frame is called the Villa, but again I've been told that the Loft from is the same. I put my frame up yesterday and the idle bar rubs on my machine. Does your idle bar rub? I did put up the 2' extension to make a 10' frame and we figured that there might be a little sag, but it grinds on my machine from about 2' all the way to 2' on the other end. I haven't ever used a longarm and probably should have tested a few out first so I knew what the set up should be like. Is there supposed to be space between the idle bar and your machine or does the idle bar touch it the machine to keep the fabric down? HELP!
Hi Vanessa, I just finished putting my new Moxie and Loft frame together and I ended up with some leftover parts (screws, washers and a nut). Did you have some leftover parts? Also I have a black rubber bushing and not sure what it is for. Do you know what the black rubber bushing is for? BTW I love your very informative videos. Thanks, Laurie
I have been looking at a Qnique long arm...5876.00..I think a 15 or 16 in long arm...I am glad u showed us this as I was getting the 10 ft and I really see the 8ft is better for my space...please send me the info on this I think it would be easier than the Q.or tell me how to find out...thanks
Did the leaders come with the machine? Can you use clamps instead of pins? I use an Amara at my local quilting store and we clamp the quilt not pin, I would like to see how to get started free motion quilting. I can do the meander but would like to learn something more complex. What is the largest quilt, that you can quilt on the 8 foot frame? Thanks so much for your channel and this video.
Also, how do you load the quilt and which bar orientation are you using. If it is set up for using rulers, can you quilt in that set up without using the ruler? Is one set up better and why. Again, thanks.
Would it be ok to set it up in your home garage. I would be interested in learning about the whole machine from the beginning. Is made in the USA. Why you chose this type of quilting machine, pros and cons. Please
I hope to be in the market for a longarm next year - I’m saving right now. The 15” throat intrigues me...do you think you can quilt a 12” block without advancing?
Here is what Handi Quilter suggests but I plan to make another video showing how much space I actually use for it in my room: d4qe3ws3l0141slmk95pb4vj-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Screen-Shot-2020-09-25-at-6.08.48-PM.png
I know nothing of long arm quilting but gosh was it wonderful watching you put it together. So therapeutic 😌
Glad you enjoyed it! It was super fun!
Would you talk about maintenance of the machine. Does it need oiling? What size bobbins, general cleaning etc. Thanks.
I have been hand quilting for over 40 years but would love to learn on on long arm machine.
I bought mine in November....I bought mine from a dealer. Spring Water Design, in Columbia MD....I was able to get free installation.... I have quilted 2 small quilts so far.

I'd LOVE to see a video of your new studio! Also, and videos giving tips on the actual quilting.
You got it! Thanks!
So exciting, I would love to know what reasons made you buy this brand over the other brands (pros and cons) that you found. Can't wait to see videos on it. :-)
Tour of studio... YES! Moxie... I love seeing what you would do with borders, smashing, ruler work. All this gives me ideas on my own quilts.
boy they really did make it so you could set up the frame. Well done and thank you for sharing
So happy for you! Your joy and happiness is just adorable. Enjoy your new machine!

SSSSSSSWWWWWEEEEAAAALLLLSSSS of DELIGHT for you Vanessa!!! Congratulations!!!
Thank you!
@@TheCraftyGemini you're welcome!
Free motion quilting, quilting with rulers, loading big quilts
I thank you so much for this video you’re the only one that did a closer up of putting it together. I am ready to do my daunting active getting mine together. Again thank you so much for the video and all the videos you do
I just got my Moxie in the beginning of December. Had no problem setting it up. I am working on my fourth quilt. It is so much fun.
I just bought a Babylock Gallant! My best friend helped me put it together! Hoping to get good at free motion!
Excellent video. Yes, I will love a video of your home studio.
I would love a video tour of your studio!
Nice! I wish I had the room for something like this! Can't wait for videos of you using it.

A tour of your home studio would be fabulous. And maybe your farm animals
and garden.
I just think you are amazing!❤️👍
OMG ! I needed this video so bad! Just ordered my Moxie and this will help me so much! Thank You, Thank You!!! 🙏

I am enjoying getting to know my new Moxie too.
Yay!!
Almost ready to pull the trigger! Are you happy with it? I figure if the CGemini got one -it must be worth it!
Sewing binding on the long arm and how to make sure the quilt stays square.
Congrats on your new toy Vanessa! I can’t wait to see you play with it! Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you!

Definitely looking at one of these, thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to many tutorials!
I have a HQ 16 for over two years now... I would love a new frame... I have the original and it stags a little in the middle. Good tips for setting up!
Do they have additional legs or something to remedy this? I'd b calling hq on that!
I am just starting to look at long arms and have used HandiQuilter machines in the past. I am curious about this one, but like you suggested, I am going to take my time. :)

I'm gonna be buying one soon thank you for showing this product
Very nice!! ENJOY!! 🥰
Thank you for posting this! Can’t wait to see more of your videos! 😊
Yay! Can’t wait to see what all it will do. 😉
Why did you choose the Moxie?
Just got this just before Christmas Love it
I'm totally interested in getting a long-arm machine
They're so fun and efficient! A great way to crank out quilts. :P
I've ordered one with the loft frame too. I'm in the UK though so it won't arrive for a few weeks yet. This video will help keep my excitement up about it arriving and me actually having a long arm this year! Squeal!
Hope you enjoy it!
Anything you want to post about Moxie!
What are the advantages of the computerized higher models vs completely manual? Why wouldn’t you want the stitch regulator?
I had to adjust the height after building mine. I’m 5’4” and I ended up at the tallest height and it’s comfortable for me.
Great to hear!

My question too...

Wow that’s cool!
I'm wanting to get my own long arm. It's for my personal use not a business. Talk about why you chose that bran, pros and cons.
Will you review the Moxie XL?
I would like to hear more about the thread your using. for top and bottom.
So I really really want a long arm, kinda scared as it all new, it's like buying a car and not knowing how to drive. Looking forward to all your videos 😊.

Can a 12" block be quilted without advancing? I do lots or 12" sampler block queen sized quilts!
What is this quilting frame made of? Steel, or plastic? Thank you!
Would it be ok to set it up in your home garage. I would be interested in learning about the whole machine from the beginning. Is made in the USA. Why you chose this type of quilting machine, pros and cons. Please

I have exactly the same question. I do lots or 12" sampler block queen sized quilts!
Very nice
Can it be set up to use a pantograph?
Yes. But that accessory kit is sold separately.
I would love to see the programmed designs the machine can do.
How do I make my stitches look better on the bottom of my quilt.
Did you get this free or did you purchase? Just would like to know
I was wondering do you still have your other longarm. And if you do, will you still use it. Tfs.
In His Grace Lorisa
I don't know anything about the machine but I would like to know what it do.
How match is this machine pls.
If you could show ruler work, that would be great. Thank you.
You got it! I plan to get the ruler base and rulers soon!
Do you need a special foot to use with ruler base? Where would I purchase?
Wondering if my local shop has them in stock. Hmmm going to check. Also, I have the sweet 16. Would want to trade up or sell the sweet 16.
Why would you want to trade in your sweet sixteen?
you can put the 16 on the loft frame. The Moxie is 15", the sweet 16 is 16". Actual quilting space is smaller.
How much does a moxie cost with frame?
Is this programable?
Hi Vanessa, did you buy from a Florida dealer? Will Tim be a dealer?
You can find your closest Handi Quilter retailer at handiquilter.com/locations. We have 400+ retailers across North America and more around the world.
how do I see replies to peoples questions??
Can you use a computer with this? One that does the designs.
So my question is.. can this machine quilt a king size quilt??
Not the way I have it set up on an 8ft frame. The widest quilt I can load on this frame is 84".
How to thread
See all the things please. 😺😺
How much space would this machine require?
Here is what Handi Quilter suggests but I plan to make another video showing how much space I actually use for it in my room: d4qe3ws3l0141slmk95pb4vj-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Screen-Shot-2020-09-25-at-6.08.48-PM.png
