I enjoyed your demonstration with the Moxie. I too am a beginner. I have had my machine since 2023 and have done only one quilt. I was so fearful. My brain gets lost thinking do this first, what button do I push, did I pull the thread up, what pattern am I doing. I get stiff as a board and my shoulders freeze. The one and only quilt I did I was amazed at how the quilting went. I just practice loops, lines, e,l,s, and anything that would give me a pattern. When my daughter got her quilt she said I wasn't done. I forgot a square. Well, I was done, the pattern I chose was very plain and simple. I just laugh and think maybe someday down the road my granddaughter will do something to it. Now I am trying a new quilt and pantographs. But first I am using your trick of the plastic tape on the quilt for depth. I hate it when I run out of room. I am practicing the pattern by not running the machine but just having the light follow the black line. There sure isn't room for back-stepping only side-stepping in my little room. It is all a laugh, right?
@@paulandlaurahausman379 I totally understand what you mean. The quilt is DONE… LOL! Don’t let the Moxie scare you. A long piece of elastic works well too as a guideline for how far to go. I got carried away and quilted my measuring tape onto a quilt after the video… lol! But a 1/2 wide or wider piece of electric works great too! I have made approx 15 quilts since this video and am still working out the kinks but each quilt brings better results. Keep going! You got this!
I'm so glad I found this video today. I've had my Moxie for about two months and am still trying to get comfortable with it. Watching you was very validating and encouraging. Thank you!
I hope you are enjoying your Moxie. I will be doing other Moxie videos this month. I hope you tune in. I have been recovering from Covid pneumonia. Thanks for watching.
That's one beautiful quilt, lovely colors. I'm so jealous that you have a long arm, sadly I do not have room for one in my RV thus the reason I like quilt as you go.
Thanks Rob! A few months ago you finished a larger quilt top that you said you were going to put away until you could have it finished. I will Longarm it for you (no charge) if you want. I meant to send you an email earlier about it. I know it’s scary mailing a beautiful quilt top to someone but I am certainly willing to do it for you and I will mail it back to you.
Oh Marty I am sold on the Moxie!! I’m not sure if it is that easy or you just make it seem that easy, but it does a wonderful job. The stitches are beautiful, and it is so fast. When I stipple a quilt on my regular sewing machine it takes so long and it is so cumbersome, by the time I’m done I’m in a total sweat. I enjoyed this tutorial so much. Looking forward to many more of your videos. Thank you for sharing!! ❤️
I shared this just for you Judy! If you decide to purchase a Moxie in the future… I have a link for you and can get you hooked up with a dealer local to you. It’s super easy. I’ll be showing some ruler work on the Moxie soon. 😘
Thank you, Marty, for this video. I just finished my second quilt using a pantograph on my Baby Lock Gallant (the equivalent of the Moxie). My quilting is pretty shaky but I’ve been told I’ll get better 🙏🏻 I’m glad other people have the same thought - it’ll all come out in the wash 😄
As soon as I am back in my Sewing Shop I will be doing another video on cleaning my Moxie. Hoping to be back to sewing this coming week. I have been recovering from Covid the past two weeks. Keep sewing… Marty🧵🪡
Thank you for this video..I just put mine together last night..can’t wait to get started tonight after work..I would love to see a video loading the quilt batting n backing..🙂
I am finally recovered from Covid pneumonia… and I plan to do a video… hopefully today on two things you need to know about your Moxie and a loading video and what I use to keep my batting off of the floor. Look for those … Hoping to get one completed today. And another on how to clean your machine. Please subscribe💗 Thanking you in advance! I love Moxie tutorials
I loved watching you work your Moxie! I am shopping for a long arm machine and don’t know much about anything other than I have the desire to finish my quilts on my own, regardless of my ability level. So I have some questions… may I ask them? What is the approximate amount of space you feel is necessary to house a long arm machine and frame? Can you quilt a king sized quilt on a smaller frame? I am blessed with a designated sewing room, but wonder still if I have enough room to put a frame and a machine in here. Thank you for any help you can share!
You can quilt up to a 108” quilt on the long arm which is a King Size if you get the 10’ loft frame. If you have 11 to 12 feet of space lengthwise and 5 feet width wise you should be in good shape. You’ll really enjoy it!
I am so glad that I found your channel. I've had a difficult time finding videos about quilting on the Moxie. Your video has helped tremendously. I did an all over stipple but love that you do the side borders differently than the center. I also loved the tip with the measuring tape. So helpful. I hope you will make more. Do you clean it before each quilt? I'd love to see your process. Just subscribed so I won't miss another!!
@@Marty_Makes I am definitely getting the extension just to be on the safe side, but, I am looking at maybe getting the extra handlebars for the back to also be able to do pantographs. We shall see
Hello there, this was super helpful. I just purchased my Moxie last week. I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I was wondering how do you set the tention? Or Do you have to mess with the tention alot? I have never even touched a long arm machine in my life. :)
Yes! It’s a fabulous machine! I am going to do additional Moxie videos that will show some of the adjustments I have made to achieve even better Stitching results. Love mine!
Thank you so very much for doing this video. I am really considering a moxi . Did you get yours from the company or a dealer? I saw it so reasonable on Amazon plus I could make payments. Your quilt is beautiful. It looks so fun. I got to get one.
Here’s my Amazon link… I have it in my Amazon Store. www.amazon.com/shop/martyperry (it’s under my ‘Quilting’ Link) Simple to put together especially if you have someone to help you. If you purchase through my link I have a group I can add you to. Handi Quilter backs all of the machines. You’ll love it! 💗 If you purchase through my link, let me know so I can add you! Excited for you!
What stitch mode are you using I have a moxie and it’s my first longarm and I’m wondering which mode you like better P or Cruise and do you mess with the speed or stitches per inch?
Great idea with the wonder clips and ruler
Thanks so much! I will be uploading another video soon. 17 quilts later… I have more tips and tricks :)

A great idea using a measuring tape as a guide to show where the Moxie would be ending.
Great tip about the plumb/cheater line.
Yes Girl!
Beautiful quilt!
Thank you! It was made for my granddaughter… and it almost drove me crazy piecing it. My mind doesn’t work… “on Point” lol

Hi Patricia! Yes, I clean after every project. I will do a tutorial on how I do it soon for you. Have a great day!
Glad I found your channel. Looking at getting a moxie when I get home. Did you get the extra handles to do pantographs
I did not. I like freehand. I did get the 2 foot extension. You’ll love your Moxie! more tutorials coming.

Will you show how to install the Ruler Base on the Moxie please.
Yes, I will do a video showing how to install. I had surgery and am recovered now. Thanks for watching
Hi Marty. Loved your video. I am trying to decide between purchasing the Moxie and the Simply 16. Did you consider the 16?
No, only the Moxie. What did you decide on?
@@MakeupWithMarty I bought the Moxie with ProStitcher Lite. Love it!

Tension can be set after testing it on a sample or the side of your extra fabric. I will do a video on tension for you. Enjoy your Moxie.
@@Marty_Makes I look forward in the tension video. that would be very helpful. Thank you.
I’m thinking about getting the new XL version of the Moxie with Pro Stitcher Lite added. Do you have any regrets with this machine?
Absolutely not! It’s a fabulous machine. You probably have yours by now. I hope you are enjoying it!
So glad I found your video! I am punching a moxie for a first time home quilter, do you feel this is a great option?
Yes! It’s a fabulous machine! I am going to do additional Moxie videos that will show some of the adjustments I have made to achieve even better Stitching results. Love mine!

I will definitely add a video on that as well as general maintenance and cleaning. Had some health issues this year but On the mend now

Just wondering how difficult is it to quilt a king size on the moxie?
