Hey Everyone!! Just thought I should mention that Cosplay Apprentice "What the Foam" has just been added to Amazon, but at this point it is just the flat packs that are available, though the rolls should be showing up very soon and will be at the same link. You'll need the roll because the pattern won't fit on the flat pack size. Also, currently it is only available in the U.S. store, so if you live somewhere else and click the link it will take you to whatever product Amazon thinks is most like it in your area, so just be aware.... I don't want to accidentally mislead you!
Another fab design. Love your work! If anyone is reading this, I recommend buying his big pack of patterns. There are loads in there and it saves so much money because once you buy one and make it, your guaranteed to want another one to have a go at!
Hello Chris, I made the mask & several items using your instructions & they all came out spectacular & that steampunk version "takes the cake" with all those vials it will definitely add the finishing touch. Must add your accuracy is spot on, I really enjoy your mind and how you express it. 😜👍
i bought your ultimate everything and it worth every single penny.Professional patterns top to the nails! Thanks a lot and waiting for new steampunk products.Well what about making a tutorial how do you make ur patterns :)
Glad you are enjoying the Ultimate Everything Super Value Bundle!! I think I might have a few videos that show some of my pattern making techniques..... I think the Christmas Bobblehead does if I remember correctly....
Hi Chris! You are my hero! Your videos are always a great pleasure for me. I will continue to support you so that you can show many more good ideas for us in your very professional videos.
I'm currently working on a 2nd hat for my Halloween costume (a fancy P.D.). I'm using 4mm Eva foam. It curls when cut, but hopefully it'd be sturdy once I've stitched (yes, stitched) the faux leather over it. I've also made like five masks (one for a friend) with the other pattern. These are amazing!
Very cool. The hat turned out amazing and your instructions gets better and better...or maybe I haven't visited in a while. But as always thanks for sharing all your great ideas and work.
Keep creating! You're awesome and amazing! I kinda like steampunk and you really make an easy explanation. I already make steampunk helmet for my homework and your videos help me so much, i just wanna say thank you.
Yeah, whenever I make a new pattern, it means a big gap between videos, just because of the time it all takes. My next one should be a lot quicker I hope😁 Thanks for watching and commenting!!
If you are making the largest size(which you probably aren't) you would need a sheet of foam 480 x 415mm (19" x 16 1/3") for the brim and top of crown, and a sheet 727 x 117mm (28.5" x 4.6") for the Band. That doesn't include the 2mm foam if you want to add any extra details. If you are making a smaller size, you can get away with slightly less foam.
Do u think u can make these helmets from Destiny 2? The helmets are, the Helm of Saint 14, Skull of Dire Ahamkara, and The Stag. Either one of these would be a nice challenge and some cool looking projects in the end
Indeed, in fact I just had to try my top hat pattern with the foam and it turned out fantastic. and since the foam is black, I didn't even need to paint it. Because the foam is quite stiff, it's a little less comfortable on the head, but if it's a tiny bit big, I would add a little rim of softer foam around the inside.
I’ve been trying to purchase the pattern and I’ve tried two different debit cards and PayPal and I get an error that my payment can’t be processed. Also, the foam in the link is for 7 sheets not a roll and it looks like it’s 8mm not 4mm.
Hey there, sometimes your computer will autofill part of your address in the discount box, which makes Gumroad think you entered an invalid coupon code and won't let you finish the transaction. Also could be worth trying a different browser. As far as the links go, it could be possible that "What the Foam" is sold out in the rolls.....it's probably pretty popular at this time of year. Course you could use other foam as if you can find some 4-6mm thick.
Mainly due to the toxicity of contact cement- I don't want people to use contact cement without proper respiratory protection, so I don't promote it too much.
Some hats are called fedora, stovepipe, homburg, bowler, porkpie, Stetson, sombrero, Panama, et al. So what is the proper name for this hat? Plague doctor hat is a designation but not a proper term.
Oh man, this is exactly the shape of hat I've been looking for... but for a Steampunk King of Hearts. :)
You: Hi my name is Chris and I...
me: yes yes yes
You: am a plague doctor
Me: good enough! My name is chris and I like to make things

Sweet!!! I’ve been waiting for this. I’m super excited to get started. This looks like a perfect addition to the mask as is.
Thank you for this tutorial and I will wear this costume at school so I can prevent Corona Virus
Did you alter the plague mask? I can't remember the storage compartment and the filling hole.
Yeah, I added the little compartment for the video, it's not on the original pattern:)

Excellent work!!! It would be very interesting to see how You make a Roman centurion's helmet out of foam?
would you recommend sealing the foam with plasti dip or modge podge before paint?
This is superb. Thank you so much!

Hey, how big should the foam be in order to be able to make this hat? I don't know how big of a sheet to buy T-T

I'm going to have to buy this pattern
This would also make a great clint eastwood hat from the movies like the good the bad and the ugly
True.
what is name of song in background?
This would be great for Rose The Hat cosplay
Did you paint or primer this hat or as is , dont mess up kind of thing ?
This one I just used the black foam surface with no paint. Obviously I painted all the extra bits.

Ah yes, the pestilence will be cured, but first a hat-
