After Reviewing: Two corrections. I misspoke IR laser is .7mw, the cards have the correct info. Also, while the I2 is slightly worse than than the A3, it's not as big of a difference as shown in the video. It either got bumped to the low setting or was on low batteries. The I2 is virtually identical to the holosun with a slightly "cleaner" beam.
I have a Perst 4, the cost was $500.00 in 2020. To fix the illumination issue I purchased a Inforce IR/ White Weapon Light. Light cost me $150.00 dollars. The price is still far more affordable than the offerings with lights incorporated. Nice video, appreciate the content.
It's certainly an option. Personally for me, it's awkward to use. Everytime you want to activate the laser+Illum you have to press 2 buttons. And then 2 again for off.
@@BrassFacts learn to splice wires. Either get the Zenitco double switch or surefire double switch. Then cut the end of the supplied perst 4 wire and the "dbal/mawl" wire on the surefire. Splice. There you go. Or use a Tap Sync and cut and splice.
Excellent comparison. I think a single PVS14 and an IR laser/illum. Are my next big purchase. If the holosun is as good as their optics are compared to higher end ones it’s probably a solid unit for the price.
Love your content buddy, may I have some advise on building my rifle designator and illuminator system? Now I decide to purchase a perst 4 as designator and still hesitating on picking the illuminator, Im thinking M600v or zbolt blazer cause I kind of want a high power illumination for long range nv shooting, but ive also heard they suck at cqb, so im now bit confusing. Can u give me some recommandations based on your knowledge?
Question, i just purchased my first WP PVS14, laser is next. I have it narrowed down to A2(FP) or D2. I really like the wide 30 degree illuminator flood of the D2 but she's chonky. Taking price out of the equation what would you recommend? Thanks for the great content. This is the best IR comparisons videos on YT keep it coming man.
If you're okay with the downsides of owning a FP laser as a civ. Get the FP. It's better in most everyway. I personally, also , can't stand the chonk status of the D2. "wide" is also less important most of the time, you'll generally be focusing your illum most of the time anyway.
The best bang for the buck is a m600v with a holosun 221 ir/vis laser for around 1000 total.... better than anything else for that price and the dbal devices have a reputation for not being durable from what I can see on the youtubes. I'm not arguing their devices are more powerful but seem to not be as sturdy or intuitive in design as the holosun units.
the issue with this setup is a m600v is kinda poor past 50 yards or even 25yards due to the massive flood area. There's also a ton of splash up close meaning you'll get a lot of autogating on very dark nights. Works for a PDW/PCC setup. But lacks versatility. I've moved entirely away from flashlight based illuminators on weapons. hoplopfheil has a good vide on this exact effect. I'd prefer a holosun 321R + a streamlight. Same price (~800-900)
The holosun appears to be the go to. I do hear though that the illuminator is pretty anemic. I know in your video you said the I2 was low on batteries but on a full battery would you say the I2 beats out the holosun with respect to its illuminator?
Yeah, the Holoson is like the Honda Ridgeline of IRs, it’s what most casual night shooters probably need. But it’s not really a truck, mine is fine for the 2-3 times I shoot at night a year.
@@BrassFacts well he wants to order a perst ir laser/ illuminator but doesn't know where to get one that won't have a chance of getting snagged by customs. And what is the cheapest possible route for a combo ir light/laser. thanks for getting back so fast your videos are awesome
@@williammelvinhicks5816 Im not sure about cheapest. Like I said, it's not really something I care for, so I haven't looked into it much. At the price ($500+) and performance of the Holosun LS221 (Vis Laser + IR laser), I see no reason why anyone would get an I2 or even an A3. TBH you could just get a LS221G and a Modlite IR head and be good to go for 99% of situations. That package would be sub $1000 if purchased during a good sale or with a coupon code somewhere. @@1969plato I can understand that. And I try to limit my financing of the CCP too but not everyone prioritizes where they source their products from (although they probably should). Many would like the best that they can afford and Holosun is the best value, hands down.

A perst 4 combined with a surefire M600v is a solid setup that’s cheaper and way nicer than the holosuns.

Combo the Perot with klesh 2 with special button designed for the combo, and you are golden
Or you can just get the Perst 3.

easy

the i2 is very similar to the a3 in terms of the illum. A hair weaker. So It's worse than the I2 (the holosun) but not debilitatingly so.

If my country allow light and lasers on weapons i would go with DBAL A3 and SF M600V
Awesome video I bought the holosun
yeah looked like it worked pretty good, I got one too vis/ir
Would it work if my friend uses an ir illuminator on one side of the rail and an ir laser separately on the other side? Seems alot cheaper
it can. It's a bit bulky, and a bit of a mess in terms of elegance. But it works, and many swear by it. Not my cup of tea though.
