"Shining Lights, Even in Death" is not possible to beat without any kills. If someone is saying otherwise, they're full of it.
I suspected as much, I've tried many many things in that mission and none of them have resulted in a no kill scenario, but I've had comments and read forum posts over the years that state they absolutely did it with no kills...Maybe every version of MGSV is personalised

Kinda sucks that the water pistol has one severe bug that when the white lines of detections appear when someone is suspicious of you and you fire the water pistol you will get instantly spotted regardless of anything, good video!
I thought that was just me being a dunce! I tried to distract enemies with the squirt but I'd always get spotted so I decided to just dive into most of them 😅
i think it's more of an oversight than a bug. enemies always spot you if you fire any weapon while under suspicion, including the water pistol
Tbh yeah, MGS3 should have at least one reference to skull face and/or XOF, i doubt it will happen, but it would be really cool.

Btw in back up back down you can stay in one place like the far upper left corner of the mission area of the map behind that one base you can leave dhorse and a tank on the road and hide to extract the armored vehicles and tanks they all go down that last road or pathway!

The remake is supposed to be 100% faithful to the original unfortunately, but who knows, that'd be cool.
From the snippets of gameplay I've seen they've changed quite a few things already, admittedly they are quality of life changes that modernise it and make it smoother to play, but if they're willing to do that then surely they could just add a little lore-friendly easter egg or two 🙏

Isn't the whole point that XOF was supposed to never be seen or heard, and only came in after Snake's mission was over to basically clean up.
@@John.McMillan Well they weren't even invented when MGS3 originally released so the concept of XOF wasn't a thing, but now it is a thing it would be funny to see it. If you kill an enemy in MGS3 and leave the area then their bodies are gone, same goes for any shell casings you left behind, obviously this is just a limitation of the time, but to explain it away as XOF cleaning your trace would be a fun little nod to MGSV. It's obviously not gonna happen (and probably shouldn't)

the Mirror's Edge ambience in the intro is a top quality choice.
I allways extracted kids via many vihecles that I extracted so I can call a copper or walk out of the area.
Water pistol reload meta has snake using the water satchel. Headcannon implies reloading from human excretion via bodilty fluid.

At the 3 minute mark, i wonder if you can use the box that drops on you if you stand near the warning sign. It causes much less "trip/fall" damage.

The second chapter is the best bit of the game but it's mostly because of narrative reasons rather than challenging gameplay.
I agree! In terms of narrative anyway, it's where everything starts to unfold and build up to something, the fact that it never got finished still pains me...Maybe it was on purpose, to make us all feel the pain of missing something that can never be replaced 😭

Quiet is extremely useful! I don't tend to play with her very often because I enjoy sneaking around with my little D-Doge, but every time I do select her I remember just how powerful she is. Her being able to shoot grenades that you throw and keep you from being spotted with her instant shots is superb!

While you are prone if you press the cqc button snake will hit their legs and they will fall, its easier then diving into them
I did that for a few missions, but the noise of them slamming their head into the floor often makes a lot of noise and the range is very short so it's quicker to just dive and squirt 💦

To be fair it's very hard to breathe through a wet mask, so maybe that's why Mantis is weak to it.

14:30 If you want to do it without getting shot at/detected, just use a car and throw a smoke grenade into the seat, depending on the level of the grenade you'll make it the entire way before it runs out.
Good tip for general gameplay! For this playthrough that was disallowed however because of the water pistol restriction.

6:59 So this command is ACTUALLY useful???!!! That's it, I'm replaying the game again. Oh, and by the way, it is possible to escape with Huei without Sahelatropus attacking you. I don't remember the specifics, but I do remember flying away without it attacking the chopper. Perhaps you should be really far away from the thing. Maybe let it walk away after it lost you
I've never seen Sahelanthropus not attack the chopper before in any of the gameplay I've watched or done, even when they get disabled by the electrical wires or you escape from further down the path. It's the intro for the Metal Gear so it appears to be a mandatory cutscene. If you could try to recreate the steps and replicate it one day I'd be very excited to see it in action!

So no u cant beat mgs5 using only a water pistol..... u used way more than a water pistol to accomplish this like items fultons binoculars and other various things
That's true, but you can't even start the game without shooting the Man on Fire in the Prologue or fultoning someone in the mother base tutorial so any weapon restrictive challenge will hit that block before it even begins. My personal rules didn't specify I couldn't fulton or mark with binoculars since they're core elements anyway. You're welcome to try the challenge yourself with those extra stipulations if you want to! 😛
