In this video, I share with you 5 mistakes to avoid when attempting to Conquer The MSF UTurn Box on Your Harley or any motorcycle. The dreaded UTurn box often puts fear into the eyes of many motorcycle riders especially those that ride heavy weight Harley Davidson touring motorcycles. However, if you avoid these 5 mistakes I have seen riders make, you to can master and conquer the MSF UTurn Box and become a confident rider. It is easy to go straight and fast on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Mastering slow speed skills such as the MSF UTurn Box really separates riders from decent to being really skilled and confident on their motorcycle. Riding a Harley Davidson heavy weight motorcycle can be much more enjoyable when you are controlling it versus the Harley Davidson or motorcycle controlling you. ‪@motorofficertraining‬

Good info! When I passed the MSF course it was years ago and on a Honda Rebel. I'm now on a '24 Heritage Classic (with 7 years on a Sportster in between).
I'm reasonably certain if you asked me to go out today, right now, and do the box on the HD I couldn't. In my defense I only have 300 miles on the big HD. Going to practice in an empty lot though and get better. What do you think of simply starting out with turning/circling at idle with the clutch all the way out, then gradually slowing (bringing the clutch in) and tightening the circle - while occasionally reversing it so I don't get dizzy? The intent would be to build confidence in making tight turns and the balance of the bike in a tight/slow turn. I've got cones and a tape - eventually I can set up my own box and give it a try.

Thanks Philip for watching and commenting. It can be daunting on the bigger bikes but the key is to get put and practice. If you need to start with the box wider...then do that and as you get the techniques and become more confident begin to tighten it up. Ride safe, train hard and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
