I agree ... You have become one of my top channels as well. This is one of those songs that is a part of music history as well . So it's pretty cool to be sharing it with you both in that way for sure . Since you started your channel enough time has gone by now where I look forward to your reactions as they come out... And they've become part of my routine each day.. so thanks for the hard work and all the content that you continue to put out for us as your viewers and listeners
Sebastian Bach has a killer voice!!!! One of the most powerful lines in this song is “That child blew a child away!”!! It’s crazy how it’s still applicable today as it was 30+ years ago! Some songs stand the test of time! This is definitely one of them!!!!
Love Sebastian Bach’s voice…..u should definitely check out “Wasted Time” by Skidrow, it was written by Bach about his best friend Steven Adler (Guns N Roses drummer) about his heroin addiction
Now here's a person that knows their history. There are so many great stories around the songs during that time, and it's awesome to know that you know it and you are sharing it :-)
This song is a double entendre. 18 and life referring to the sentence Ricky gets for shooting his best friend but also him just being 18 and living a reckless life without thought of any consequences. When you're young you feel invincible and nothing bad will ever happen to you. You dont know better. "Your crime is time" has always been my favorite lyric of this song.
Wasted time by Skid Row is another great song about drug addiction that is A LOT deeper than 18 and life. It hurts my soul every time I hear it because it was written about Sebastian's friend Steven Adler the drummer from Guns n' Roses.
Great reaction to a classic song. Other great ballads from Skid Row are ' Wasted Time, In a Darkened Room, Quicksand Jesus and I Remember You', as well as there hard stuff, 'Youth Gone Wild, Monkey Business and Slave To The Grind'. Glad you enjoyed this one. Happy Spring from New Hampshire all.
Heart wrenching for real. Especially if you've done enough damage to yourself in your life for the song to apply to you personally. I'm so gay lol it brings tears to my eyes.
Sebastian has an incredible voice. Love this song - and his other great one is I Remember You. His voice is just amazing in that one as well. Cheers from Canada.
Wasted time is another excellent song from skid row. A must see .video.its about the lead singers best friend who almost died from drugs. He is Steven Adler who was guns and roses drummer
Sebastiam is the prettiest guy in rock. A beautuful man. I love this song. Still relevant and that last couple of notes blows me away every time. If you haven't done I remember you yet, it's a must. Our generation carries these messages to today.
Another great song/video from Skid Row with a deep message..you folks should do a reaction on is "Wasted Time"👍...hearing Sébastien vocals, I'm sure you guys will be impressed.
The story for 18 and Life actually came from a news report in NYC. Sebastian Bach voice is great set of pipes. I’d like you to check out Wasted Time. This band, sponsored by Jon Bon Jovi and toured with Guns N Roses. Sebastian and Steven Adler, original drummer for GNR, were the youngest in the perspective bands and sort of gravitated in to bff situation. Both young, both talented, both blonde, both incredible good looking. Now they have fame, money, women and a party life style. Sebastian got married and started a family at a very young age of 24. Steven, kept the party going. Serious heroin addict. Everyone tried to help, warned, intervened but he was so gone. Lost that gig with GNR. Tried it on his own but in 1996, after doing a potent speedball (coke/heroin cocktail) at age 31, he suffered a stroke, leaving the left side of his face paralyzed. Steven did a celebrity rehab reality show where violence and suicidal tendencies were evident and upon release to a sober house got stoned on the ride from rehab to sober house where he was turned away. Eventually I think he is mostly clean now and occasionally will guest appear with GNR but his success was marred by addiction. Skid Row’s song, Wasted Time is an ode to their friend Steven Adler. It’s powerful and showcases Sebastian’s talent and love for his friend. BTW…. I’m an old lady, young only in my mind and I enjoy your RUclips channel ever day! Very warm intelligent young couple and I wish you continued success. ❤️
youth gone wild also has a strong message besides being a banger. You can tell by the aggressive Hard Rock time of the song that it struck a chord with many youth back in the day on the angst of those considered the problem child whose lives are put on trial by others who judge them. Every generation of youth has the issue of being compared to those who came before.
You guys need to go down the Skid Row rabbit hole. Sebastian Bach is one of the greatest metal singers of all-time. His vocals are powerful and emotional. I recommend “Darkened Room”, “Quicksand Jesus”, Monkey Business”, “Slave to the Grind”, and “Wasted Time.” All these are on the same album, and all were hits in the rock genre. The album Slave to the Grind is 🔥
He has an incredible voice and he can hold a note a long long time! He was had the best hair ! Most of us girls back in the day were so jealous of this gorgeous man’s freaking hair!! Lol
This a great story song about a young and dumb kid who gets wild and kills his only real friend. He pays the price with a life sentence at 18. You have this amazing band in Skid Row with Sebastian Bach doing those vocals that make you get the chills. Enjoy this great late 80s masterpiece.
Sebastian Bach has had a super interesting career. After Skid Row he became a Broadway singer and voice actor. He is still knocking around. Also, he has a famously long...um...dong. Look up his Howard Stern interviews to see what I mean.
The negative power of hopelessness, kids in that kind of environment need guidance and positive influence, because the drain is always pulling down into the pits. Failure is inevitable without a constant effort to pull them out.
Skid Row was formed in New Jersey, but it was the addition of Canadian vocalist Sebastian Bach that made them truly special... w/ Dave 'Snake' Sabo & Scotti Hill (guitars), Rachel Bolan (bass) & Rob Affuso (drums) ... They signed a management contract w/ Bon Jovi that got their first album released in 1989... The self-titled debut was a hit on MTV, in the era of bands like Guns N' Roses... it sold 5 million copies in the US. The band went harder on the 2nd album 'Slave to the grind' in 1991 and it hit #1 on the US charts and sold 2 million copies. However, Skid Row's contract basically signed off all their royalties for the first 3 records to promote the band... and Skid Row had sold millions of records, but were not making substantial $$$. The bitterness within caused tensions w/ singer Sebastian Bach... A 3rd Skid Row album 'Subhuman race' was released in 1995, but sold far less... just as the contract was ending. In 1996, a disagreement between Bach & Rachel Bolan resulted in Sebastian Bach being fired from Skid Row. Sebastian Bach would start a solo career by 1999. In 2000, Skid Row reunited without Bach or drummer Rob Affuso... vocalist Johnny Solinger was hired and a 4th album 'Thickskin' was a disappointment in 2003. A 5th album 'Revolutions per minute' also failed commercially. Skid Row recorded 2 EP's titled 'United rebellion' (Pt. 1 & 2) in 2013 & 2014... However, in 2015, vocalist Johnny Solinger was fired; he passed away in 2021. Skid Row have been touring w/ former Dragonforce vocalist Z.P. Theart as of recently.
I just want to say thanks for reading all the subscriber’s comments. I’m a new subscriber to this channel and believe me we feel appreciated when you do this, thank you!!
One of favorite Bands of all time, this song is from their 1989 Debut Album Skid Row. Check more hits of this Record like I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild and Piece Of Me, their second Album Slave to the Grind released in 1991, check hits like Wasted Time, Monkey Business, Quicksand Jesus, In the Darker Room and Slave to the Grind. Thank you guys for reacting this Band. I'm already subscribed to your channel. Keep on doing good work!
Welcome the incredible pipes of Sebastian Bach of Skid Row! Your reaction to his vocals is exactly how mine was as a teen in the late 80s/early 90s. Sebastian had the best vocals in Hard Rock imo and their songs had substance. I was 16 when their debut album came out and I bought it right away. I was learning how to play guitar and just had to learn all the songs on the album. My absolute favorites of theirs are Wasted Time, 18 and Life, I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild, and Sweet Little Sister.
Brilliant Song - Skid Row Were a Great Band Huge In The 90's Sebastian Bach Had Some Voice Back Then - Skid Row's First 2 Albums Are Classics Skid Row & Slave To The Grind - More Great Tracks From Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild, I Remember You, Slave To The Grind, In a Darkened Room.
You might want to check out DC Talk's song "The Hard Way" ( Official video version )...it's similar to " 18 and life" in message with a subtle gospel touch,,,and like Johnny Cash, they went into a real prison to record the video. A rare Christian band who appeal to people who prefer popular styles of music over super-gospelly type music.
Love Skid Row!! Seen them in concert and they were awesome live. A good rock ballad of theirs is I Remember You. His voice is amazing. Great reaction!! 🙂
You actually got the meaning to the song. Many miss it but you were paying attention. Sebastian Bach the lead singer had one of the most impressive voices. His vocal range is incredible. Please check out Wasted Time and you'll see what I mean.
The two of you are doing a great job. Very laid back and honest about your reactions. If you want another Skid Row song and one that will get stuck in your head, you gotta check out "Monkey Business"
YAY !!!! Finally some Skid Row, Sebastian Bachs vocals are amazing!! You guys rock!!! Love your channel!! Sebastian Bach was on Broadway in Jekyll and Hyde and he was in The Gilmore Girls.
This single hit when I was in highschool, and man it quickly became an anthem to every rock/metal loving kid, the entire Skidrow first album was pretty dam epic🤘🎸👍
I saw them live (opening for Bon Jovi) when they head just exploded out of the gate onto MTV/VH1 and the radio, and Sebastian Bach was only 20-ish! It was one hell of a show.🔥
Holy crap I feel old😅 I was 5 when this came out 😮 I remember Riding in cars with friends and their parents would play this song and so many others from back in the day this takes me way back to my childhood❤
Yep, it’s definitely a “cautionary” tale in regards to immaturity……”I remember You” is an absolutely beautiful song by them where Sebastian shows off his vocals again
Great message at the end. I have been a subscriber for about a month and been watching. You see to have a good head on your shoulders and take care of the family and do stuff with them. I mean as far as I can see. Cute family. I enjoy the channel you two
@@TheRealRecklezz Coast Condra I just saw. They are on the come up. 4 guys do freestyles as a group and they are fire. They gonna be big and only 21.5k subscribers. Get in early lol
I've head that the background of this song is real news story in a local newspaper where 18-year-old boy had shot his friend with a gun, thinking the gun was not loaded, and apparently had also shot his father, and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Usually a person like this who ends up on the street ends up with various criminal gangs, as happened with Nicky Cruz who was the leader of the infamous Mau Mau gang, today he is a preacher to prove how he got free
Definitely need to check out Youth Gone Wild! We had some of the best bands growing up! I love seeing others discover these bands that got us through life, good and bad. One of the best, if not the best times to live life!🤟
It's cool you guys take the time to understand what the songs really about, this song was huge in its day, watching the video to the song really helps to get to the meaning of it rather than just hearing it on the radio, you guys are starting to get really comfortable with this, look forward to seeing some more reactions, ✌️❤!
I just learn this song on guitar last week. Yesterday, I sh*t you not, came on here to see if you guys reacted to this song yet. But couldn't find anything. But here we are! Amazing. Dope as always.
Years ago, My brother went & seen Skid Row. He was in the front, right in front Skid Row. Well, theirs idiots in every crowd! One idiot decided to throw som kind of small explosive on stage. It exploded right there by my brother. Skid Row stopped the concert ambulances came. There were 10 people including my brother, that got hurt. No one severely but still. Skid Row gave all 10 tickets to every show on the tour & passes for them to hang with them backstage! It was even in the newspaper with the picture of the 10 & smoke around them. My mom still has the newspaper showing my brother & the others right after the bomb! Why some people want to ruin it for everyone I'll never know! But my brother was okay & very happy how it turned out afterwards! He had a ball!!
memories 😎👍next one from Skid Row - I remember you .... When you can , react to Reo Speedwagon - Take it on the run . ( with lyric ) 😎👍 good week-end to you two 🙋♂
Great song. Be prepared SR has some bangers! Welcome to the rabbit hole. Youth Gone Wild, Monkey Business, Wasted Time, In A Darkend Room, just a few to start. Love from the Central Valley California ❤
Every teen boy had a Skid Row poster on the wall. Every teen girl had a Bach poster on her wall(or ceiling!) Dude was on you gf's wall with lipstick all over his face and you couldn't even be jealous. He's an undeniably beautiful man
That's so cool that u guys take time to read nearly all the comments man u guys take the job serious ps u guys are really dope keep em rock reactions cumin I love the way u guys analyze the songs. ❤😊
More Skid Row please!!! His voice is amazing! You need to listen to Wasted Time, Quicksand Jesus and in a darkened room his voice on those songs will blow you away!!
I don't know how I found your channel, but am glad I did. Yes, I'm Gen X, but love seeing people react to the music from the 80's and 90's. I still keep up with the artists of today, but this was a nice trip down memory lane. Saw them in concert with Bon Jovi, and they both slayed it. Thank you both for reacting. Now to check out the rest of your videos.😀
This is Epic Sabastian Bach My absolute favourite voice of that era, I was only 10 but this we were listening to Well into the 90's when I was a teen!! Still to this day my favourite!! You guys have to do "I Remember You" their other massive hit off that album!!
thug life is about overcoming the obstacles that society placed there, to destroy you. thug life is a source for inspiration. Plus, we all die, and we're all in jail, right now.
Been watching for ever.. Finally Subscribed.. You definitely deserved it.. What's great about Sebastian ( Lead Singer) He went on to do Broadway.. Hello, Broadway.. Not many rock stars now or than do that.. He has Amazing Vocals..
You need to react to "Wasted Time" by Skid Row next. The song was written by Sebastian Bach (singer of Skid Row) about former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler who had a heroin addiction at the time.

The singer Sebastian Bach really sings his heart out on "Wasted Time". Even if it's in your own spare time, I can't say enough about that song.
Yes!! Wasted Time, In a Darkened Room and Quicksand Jesus are amazing!!!
My favorite 😍
That song just keeps. escalating. Feels like it never resolves. It's so intense, and Sebastian sounds INCREDIBLE on that one.
Yeah, I thought of this song too.
I think I recently read that Sebastian Bach wrote Wasted Time lyrics about his best friend, Guns N Roses original drummer Steven Adler.
A lot of comments saying wasted time, I agree it's amazing. Also "I remember you" is awesome if you want to hear what his voice is capable of.

But my brother was okay & very happy how it turned out afterwards! He had a ball!!
Even the guys were in love with Sabastian Bach. The man was just beautiful. He’s like 6’3” also. He. Was. Gorgeous.
Man that was really cool what you said.✌

More Skid Row please!!! His voice is amazing! You need to listen to Wasted Time, Quicksand Jesus and in a darkened room his voice on those songs will blow you away!!
I don't know how I found your channel, but am glad I did. Yes, I'm Gen X, but love seeing people react to the music from the 80's and 90's. I still keep up with the artists of today, but this was a nice trip down memory lane. Saw them in concert with Bon Jovi, and they both slayed it. Thank you both for reacting. Now to check out the rest of your videos.😀
I give the comentaters so much credit , well done for seeing the real meaning of the Video, its not black or white , we all can fall into this life ,
This is Epic Sabastian Bach My absolute favourite voice of that era, I was only 10 but this we were listening to Well into the 90's when I was a teen!! Still to this day my favourite!! You guys have to do "I Remember You" their other massive hit off that album!!
Thug life has a final destination, a lot of people like to talk about the trip few talk about the destination death, jail or both. Peace
thug life is about overcoming the obstacles that society placed there, to destroy you. thug life is a source for inspiration. Plus, we all die, and we're all in jail, right now.
Been watching for ever..

NAUGHTY BY NATURE - EVERYTHING GONNA BE ALRIGHT. ....... LYRICS ARE TIGHT. GREAT SONG
You need to react to "Wasted Time" by Skid Row next. The song was written by Sebastian Bach (singer of Skid Row) about former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler who had a heroin addiction at the time.
SKID ROW - I Remember You (Live at Wembley Stadium 1991)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
