    The song is a love ballad. The video is about a man being unable to move on because the love of his life passed away. In the first half of the video he still holds onto the thought of her and laments his loss rather than celebrating the memories they made. After hearing the band play in the building he realizes that he wasn't remembering her rather than mourning her and that is when he has a rush of memories come and he is so elated that he finally feels like he can move forward. As a final farewell, he burns the photos he has been holding onto for so long. Symbolically showing there is nothing holding him back from this point in his life.

    It's about grief.. He lost his wife and his world fell apart.. Homeless and alone, he kept the pictures.. Dropping them one at a time at the end, he was finally letting go.

    I think this song was about how his wife died (he has a wedding ring on at one point), and how his mourning led to his life spiraling out of control, and he wound up homeless…
    The burning pics part at the end maybe symbolizes that, yes, he still loves her, always will, and will never forget her, but he has to let go and move on…

    Girls I know what happened..I went through it when a man loses his love of his life. Sometimes thay can't function in the world. I became homeless jobless and wanted to die. This is the story of my life. Burning the pictures is finally letting go .and starting a new life Sometimes men go into a cave of depression and they need to find a way out .they stay alone for a long time. This is a story of my life. And many other men. God bless all who read this

    Hey girls, great reaction. Consider this meaning for the song... What if the song is a lament. Have you ever heard of people dying of a "broken 💔 heart" sometimes people find their soul mate and when they lose them it's like a part of them selves has died. A person can feel sadness, anger, hate loneliness and many other feelings about losing their dear partner.

    Skid Row's self titled debut (which this song is on) was a huge commercial hit when it came out. It gave 3 huge radio hits: "Youth Gone Wild" (a heavy rock song), "I Remember You" (ballad) and "18 and Life" (another sad but 'heavier' ballad). Their 2nd album "Slave to the Grind" goes a heavier direction and the title track is my favorite. When Sebastian Bach (singer) talked about those two albums later on, he said "The debut was for the record company. Slave to the Grind was for us".

  • @garylagstrom3864

    Sebastian Bach equals 🟰 VIBRATO!
    Sebastian Bach’s voice is awesome! A great singer!
    My daughter said: Daddy why is his lower lip quivering? I said honey that’s called: Vibrato and all the great singers have it!
    I live in Santa Monica California (LA County) Skid Row is a heartbreaking 💔 place and what makes it worse is a mile down the road are mansions! If you listen to Poison do a song called Give Me Something To Believe In Brett Michaels points out this very fact! I’m encouraged by seeing some celebrities feeding the homeless there! I remember working Thanksgiving and Christmas there shoulder to shoulder with some of the cast of Days of Our Lives! I worked beside Deidre Hall (Dr. Marlena Evans) and her twin sister Andrea Hall (Hattie Adams, Samantha Evans). God Bless the people who make their mark helping people on Skid Row!

For both of us this was one of the most fav rock ballad. He lost everything in his life prior to that incident as his wife (whom he loved like anything) betrayed him and left for UK along with his young son, to have higher studies and nver got back. All the descriptions of love in the song happened with him. I can't help crying each time I see this music video ! What a trenchant lyrics and the solos ! So painful man !

    The original Skid Row was an Irish blues-rock band of the late 1960s and early 1970s, based in Dublin and fronted by bass guitarist Brendan "Brush" Shiels, It was the first band in which future Thin Lizzy members Phil Lynott and Gary Moore played professionally;
    When (Skid Row) got signed to Atlantic, Gary Moore heard about it and said we could have the name for $35,000 U.S. dollars. "We have to pay Gary Moore 35 grand to use the name," and so we, as a band, did buy the name from Gary Moore. We were all glad to do it because it is a great name for a band.
