Agreed. Just saw them in Cleveland Saturday night With the new singer and he’s excellent. Great show. Sounds about as close to Bas as anyone can but still, nothing will compare to Bas in his prime
From their sophomore album "Slave to the Grind." Not one single bad song on that album. Even the low tempo songs are bangers. Just an impeccable album. MUCH less commercial than their debut album.
I've seen Sebastian 6 times. 100% from start to finish, and a down to earth guy off stage. He took pics with my sons and me and hung out and talked. Great guy.
@@nu-agegamer3548 I get it, you don't like the guy. But I spent time with him without my sons around 4 times, and he was nothing but cool. And if you haven't actually done that you wouldn't know. But it's your opinion and I have mine.
@@tonyperez3920 Corabbi. There is one Crue album they didn't do with Vince Neil and is by fucking far the best music they've ever did. Darker, heavier, certainly not the "Party" stuff they used to do and exactly the reason why the oldtime fans hated that album back in the 90's
Scottie Hill one of the really underrated guitar players of the time. So sad we will never see this original line up again. To much baggage that is never going away. Glad you two got to experience one of the greatest bands of the late 80s early 90s. Cheers
My favourite Skid Row song. Seb’s vocals are off the charts on this one, especially that scream at the start. The riff is absolutely killer and you guys didn’t mention the gratuitous use of the cow bell!
@@TheWolfHunterZyou have to do “Piece of Me” Live version from Saturday Night Live performance or the one from Wembley 1991. Just incredible. Sebastian Bach is the name of the singer. Damn shame they had a falling out and don’t appear to be reconciling anytime soon. They were just in Cleveland at MGM Northfield Saturday night and it was a great show with the new singer Erik Gronwald , who is excellent. But….he’s not Bas in his prime. It’s an unfair comparison and not his fault. Again he’s excellent but maybe I just got spoiled with Sebastian’s charisma and voice at the time.
i remember how controversial that dude's nose ring was. "I Remember You" will always be one of my fave power ballads. Sebastian had one of the most epic voices. dude could Wail! probably still can.
The first two Skid Row albums are classics and every song is killers. The third album Subhuman Race is ok with some great songs, but it doesn't live up to the first two.
This was their F-U to the record label. The label wanted an album of all "18 and Life-ish, I remember you" ballads and they came out with this monster album! The heaviest, hardest album they could possibly make. And I believe it sold more copies than their first album.
I still love listening to this song when I'm having a bad day....instant lift. Slave to the Grind was a great album. I remember them talking in interviews when it came out that the album art was painted by Sebastian Bach's dad. Saw them the month after this dropped when they opened for Guns N' Roses in what would pretty much just become known as the St. Louis concert riot. Skid Row was great. Glad I got to see them a few months later under less chaotic circumstances when they went out again as headliners with Soundgarden opening.
'95 my brother (20) took me (12) to see them on their subhuman race tour. 1994-97 was a ROUGH time for 98% of 80's metal bands; many didn't survive. We saw them at an outdoor amphitheatre in October that maybe had a capacity of 5,000. There were maybe 2,000 people there. It didn't matter to Baz and the boys. They gave 110%. Sebastian was totally nuts and put his all into every song. It was my introduction to the band. They made a fan for life that day.
As a 2nd album, Slave to the Grind was such an eye-opener. It was just so much heavier than the first album, which almost sounded like Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet.
Gotta listen to Slave to the Grind for another high energy song! BTW the singer, Sebastian Bach's father, David Bierk, was a painter who did the album cover artwork.
Saw them perform this and Piece of Me on Saturday Night Live, and that's what turned me into a metal head. They took Pantera out on Pantera's first stadium tour in the states with this album, Slave to the Grind. Check out the title track next, or The Threat or Living On A Chain Gang.
Another cool, but different kind of tune from them is My Enemy from Subhuman Race. You should listen to some of the solo stuff Baz has done. Particularly fond of his work with Frameshift on the album An Absence of Empathy, and the weirdo project he did with Kelley Deal of the Breeders called The Last Hard Men. He was also on Broadway in Jesus Christ Superstar, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Rocky Horror, so if you want to hear him sing show tunes, there's a bunch online, though mostly abysmal footage quality.
He was one of the best singers in the business but for every bit of talent he had the ego was multiplied to the bad. Then the alcohol, drugs, and fighting with the band and others cause the early demise of a great band.
My wife and I saw this tour. Pantera opened for them with their Cowboys from Hell album. We got right up front during Panther and did not move lol. We got a few picks and I woke up later that night having trouble breathing. Come to find out I broke a rib protecting my wife from the mosh pit behind us. It was all worth it!
Pantera had gone on break from the tour when I saw them, so we had Soundgarden as the opening act. Both great bands.....would have loved to have seen Pantera with them, too!

ok, if you ever cover disturbeds song, down with the sickness, you have GOTTO do the monkey instead of the rea thing at the beginning xD haha, and also record it and upload it so i can see it :D
The album is called slave to the grind! Every song is phenomenal!
I’m by far my favorite Skidrow album.
One of the best albums I ever heard 🖤
100% and the mix stand sup to this day! Top to bottom a goddamn good album!
1st cd I ever owned. Bought it at a yard sale and the dude who was an old school metal head said "Dude! Great f*cking choice!"

From their sophomore album "Slave to the Grind." Not one single bad song on that album. Even the low tempo songs are bangers. Just an impeccable album. MUCH less commercial than their debut album.
Not to mention the album was one of the best engineered albums of its day; very clean, crisp sound.
100%. Went in a much more aggressive and raw direction and obviously it was the right call. Incredible album

Really? He was known for being a pompous bitch.
In my experience he was always a cool down to earth guy. I never seen the "pompous bitch" thing ever.

I'm from the Classical Era and I can say with certainty that Sebastian Bach is most definitely Awesome
I LOVE baroque--I call it the "heavy metal of classical music."
I just got to say skid-row just blows Motley Crue out of the water when it comes to Talent
Oh FOR SURE!!
💯 Motley Crue just does Blow ;)

The first two Skid Row albums are classics and every song is killers. The third album Subhuman Race is ok with some great songs, but it doesn't live up to the first two.
Slave to the Grind album is a greatest hits in itself

I like everything you said good Sir, but unfortunately Slave sold less than half as many copies as their debut album, despite being vastly superior.
Skid Row's greatest banger🤘
I still love this line way more than I have any reason to: "The freaks come out at nine, and it's twenty to ten"
That cowbell tho
Right!!!! Funny how something so simple can have a impact on a song🤘🤘
Needs more.
The last great hard rock album before grunge took over the world.
Very true.
Yes . True. I love Alice In Chains but for the most part the rest of the grunge bands are just downright depressing compared to this
