The band said that the record company did not want this song as a single because it was so heavy. They just wanted to lean on the ballads. But the band was in such a power position at the time they wanted to represent that this new record was heavy as rhino balls.
Good thing they stuck to their guns. This songs album was the first heavy metal album to debut at #1

People seem to forget that these were rock bands. All of their biggest hits were softer, but these bands were made to kick ass. And they did.
It reminds me of the fact that the only Nirvana that people react to today is their Unplugged show, which was the opposite of everything the band had ever done before that. They were a filthy punk band for God's sake. Instead Kurt will forever be wearing that sweater and playing that acoustic guitar.
They kind of separated themsleves from the so called "hair bands" with this album, much heavier than the first one.

Everyone thought Skid Row was a hair band until they dropped this album. Nary a weak track on it. Bolan and Snake wrote some amazing material and Sebastian brought it to life.
By no means is this speed metal. Just badass blues based heavy metal

That whole album is amazing. You know Pantera opened for them this tour? Imagine those Bon Jovi fans out there in the stadium bludgeoned by Vulgar Display of Power and this.

Old Skid Row is part of my teen years.. But I highly suggest you check out their new singer Erik Gronwall. His stuff H.E.A.T. and he has covers he's done while recouping from Chemo due to Leukemia. He's incredible.
