Slave to the grind was one of the best albums of the time, certainly the best Skid Row album. Great musicians and Sabastain has such a powerful voice.

Great band. Saw them in London twice, first supporting Gun's "n" Roses 1991 and then when they toured with Love/Hate and LA Guns. Great band on record, and fantastic fun live.

Skid Row rocked when they had Baz on the mic. It's kind of a shame they're mostly known for ballads. Watch em on SNL, or when they toured with Pantera and all played Cold Gin with Ace Frehley of KISS, or when they did Delivering the Goods with Rob Halford on MTV. The best Skids album is Slave to the Grind.

Sebastian Bach was the hottest chick in metal in the 90's.

Saw this live with pantera. I’m thinking this is the reason for the harder album. This album just cranks. Definitely heavier than the previous.

They released Slave to the Grind in June 1991, and Vulgar came out in 1992. They were touring with Pantera in 1992. They definitely loved Pantera's Cowboy's album, but I don't think that was the sole reason for their heavier sophomore album. They wanted to distance themselves a bit from the ballads, I think, and became different enough that they survived the death of glam metal for a bit.

They barely qualify as an 80’s band as they debuted in 1989. Most of their radio hits were playing more during the 90’s. But they seem more 80’s….
