Crime Doesn't Pay!!! More Sebastian Bach with a Vocal Analysis of Skid Row's "18 And Life"

- I expected harsh vocals and demonic undertones before my first listen to Skid Row a few months ago, which were ultimately shattered by Sebastian Bach's sweet tenor range and beautiful ensemble of "I Remember You". I think that stems from having lived next to Skid Row in Los Angeles, and projecting. This time, I was prepared. Or was I?
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Skid Row performing "18 and Life".

WHY NOT ASK BACH TO BE ON THE SHOW? Bet he'd do it.
I was thinking the same i think he would love it!!
Baz loves talking about singing and the work you have to put in to be successful. He is a loud personality at times, but I bet it would be fun listening to you two geek out over the art.
Agree 1000%!!!
Yes! I bet he’d do it in a heartbeat
DO IT!!! Ask him. 🙏✌️
Skid Row's Wasted Time will astound you!
I’ll back this up!
Wasted Time is literally his best.
Respectfully, that song stinks :). I get it, you guys like sad songs, but the song is nothing special. "Youth gone wild" and "Slave to the grind" are great.
@@ticket67 Yeah? Well, you know, that's just like uh, your opinion, man.
It's good, but in a Darkened room is better.
I would love to see a conversation between Elizabeth and Sebastian Bach. We all want to see it. Let's make it happen
YESSSS PLEASE!!!!!🙏
Do it, do it, do it...cmon everyone, chant it with me 😂
I was at a rock festival in Sweden in 2005 where Sebastian played. The concert was awesome (I am/was a long time fan of Skid Row). Afterwards he held a meet and greet and my brother and I were first in line. He asked my name and I said Rikke and then he immediately sang the first verse of 18 and Life for me - switching "boy" with "girl". I was speechless. He was so sweet, kind and humble to talk to and I will never ever forget it.
'Quicksand Jesus' is the ideal song to showcase the vocal mastery of Bach!
You beat me to it.
Absolutely, it's definitely his best. \m/ Other great "Slave To The Grind" album tracks are Monkey Business, In a Darkened Room, and Wasted Time.
Totally, Wasted Time and Darkened Room are pretty impressive too vocally, they you have Youth Gone Wild that brings a total different vocal style!
@@alkiviadisfelemegkas7075 disagree. In a Darkened Room.
@@danno7583 In a darkened roo is SO DARK. And so great,
Sebastian Bach is, in my humble opinion, one of the most underrated rock vocalists of all time. I hardly ever hear him mentioned when people mention the greatest vocalists or greatest frontmen.
Agreed. I think part of the problem is Skiw Row just gets lumped into that generic last wave of hair metal trying to hang on while grunge was taking over the world. A lot of those bands don't really get judged on their own merit but as weird products of their time. Sebastian Bach definitely stands out as one of the greater talents from that scene.
Its absolutely criminal how much Bach and Skid Row in general get ignored in the wider world. Same thing with Savatage and the Oliva boys.
Cuz he's not
@@parithian8462I think the trained vocalist, vocal coach, and vocal researcher who’s video you are commenting on proves otherwise.
@parithian8462 : The first three Skid Row albums are great so you are clueless to his vocals.
Let’s not forget how good the guitar solos are in this song! Perfect compliment to Bachs voice.
Scotti Hill is even underappreciated by the cameras. They concentrated so much on Dave Sabo because of looks that they barely even show that Scotti played this solo. Killer guitarist that usually played the slower melodic solos like this, Wasted Time and so forth.
@@grilledspaghettiScott is a better guitar player
@@ericm4426 They had different roles. Dave is more Staccato and Scotti Legato. Matter of taste, though Scotti is for me also "better". I think the skill level was about as even as a guitar team ever was or could be.
@@grilledspaghetti Remember you guitar solo is magic 🎩
@@ericm4426 Self titled and Slave to the Grind have so many melodic solo's its hard to say which is my favourite 🙂
"Wasted Time" and "In a Darkened Room" MUST BE listen to you dearest Elizabeth. It will blown your mind for sure.
he has so much emotion in his voice in both songs both have a deep meaning for him
I second that for sure!
Quicksand Jesus too
My thoughts exactly!
Absolutely, these two are so essential. Freaking amazing
Dear Elizabeth, would be nice a Tea Time Interview with Sebastian Bach. He is an icon who knows everything about rock history and singing.
Skid row "Youth Gone Wild" is a Gen-X anthem ❤
Well said.🤘
that song came out when i was in the eighth grade and it described my friends and i well. we got in sooo much trouble back then.
Hell yeah! I was in 7th grade when it came out… oh man those were the days
I was mid-teens and in love with Sebastian and Skid Row 😂❤
As an early Gen-X, yes, it is.
35 years later, this song and his voice at the time still gives me goosebumps.
Yep. Every time I hear it since it was released.
Well said, Timeless... # 1 on my playlist for them, This whole album was excellent....
This video was played constantly in the golden age of MTV. Great to be a teen back then
he is a B leaguer though
I think Kirk might've helped Elizabeth conceive another embryo last night. Watch for a new baby in April 2025.😂
This is what the late 80s were all about. I graduated hs in 1988. This stuff was my teen years. I’m so happy to see someone recognizing what I already knew. Thank you
I also graduated in '88. I was 18 when this song came out. I was sitting on top of the world! What a wonderful time of life! And Skid Row and this song express those feelings perfectly!!
At some point, when listening to Sebastian Bach, everyone has a time where they think "Now hes just showing off."
And that is why we give him our money
If ya got it, flaunt it.🤘
😂😂 so true
Actually though I’ve seen multiple people say exactly this 😂 I think his passion really shows through in his vocals, he loves it
Just like many über talented vocalists, Mariah, Christina etc ..
"Slave To The Grind" is a must for gritty vocals!
Indeed. I hear "Monkey Business" all the time, but 'Slave' just ROCKS.
i back this! Slave to the Grind is great!
@@pufferzsola69 I'll add "Youth Gone Wild" to make this epic.
That's when I really started to dig Skid Row - they went in a much heavier direction on that album.
Slave to the grind is my favorite album. You get a lot of various styles in one album.
That moment at "that child blew a child away" gives me that similar feeling in my throat, plus my spine. He punches that phrase right through you.
I knew damn well “that child blew a child away” was coming but it still gave me goosebumps and made the hair on my legs stand on end. Damn that man can sing
Same. Mind blowingly good!!! Can't imagine anyone else doing that so well. I actually watched the video just to see how she reacted to that specific part lol
Wasted Time is not only Sebastian's high-water mark for vocals, but the song is about Steven Adler's drug addiction. Steven was a very close friend to him and the emotion in that song is so strong. You can just feel it physically in his vocals. This is the song you need to hear from Sebastian and the boys.
❤ much respect for the info share. 🤘🤘
@@amandakennedy6348 Thank you
Bach was absolutely beautiful back in the day.
That was one of the criticisms of him back in the day: He was just too pretty and was written off by most general male metal/rock fans.
@@3ricTehR3dagree completley. I never gave him a chance until I dated a girl that was really into Skid Row. I blew him off as glam rock until I actually heard them. One of my favorite bands still after all these years.
Skid Row was underrated in their time. Still listening to them 30 years later. Sebastian Bach was a beast!
How is a multi-platinum rockstar underrated 🤔
Underrated? They were international megastars!!!
@@bjrnarbjrnarsson5845they did get somewhat overshadowed by grunge in the early 90s.
@@Uphold-your-RightsThat's what I was going to say. Their debut album was a massive hit. But Slave to the Grind came out in mid 91, and shortly after that, Nirvana exploded, and grunge exploded with them. So even the good bands the preceded them had a tough time for a while. It was a wild time to be alive, and there was a ton of good music, but so much got overshadowed by the massive impact of grunge in the popular music scene.
they were never able to really recover after losing that baseball game against Pantera...
“Balls to the wall goes for it”. The moment that the charismatic voice fully evolved into a full metal head for me.🤣🤣
This gives me the idea to listen to "Balls to the Wall" by Accept. With Udo Dirkschneider as singer! 😆
Fun fact: balls to the wall used to be Sebastian Bach's ringtone back in 2005/2006 😂
Nice shoutout to the band Accept. 😉
She does have a Metal Heart!
Elizabeth is my lady crush. She’s beautiful, classy, and intelligent. I was shocked to hear her use that expression. LOL!
Sebastian Bach's voice is like the perfect combination of all the great rock singers from the past. If you were creating a hard rock singer avatar and you pushed all the sliders as close to perfect as possible. Underrated.
Elizabeth stuck 5 minutes in the first two sentences gives an idea of what a beast Sebastian is. A real beast, it's like a tiger that purrs and suddenly roars and shakes you inside.
Also I think Wasted Time showcase Sebastian's top tier vocals. There you can here the distortion he can achieve.
I was thinking the whole time, "She's spent a quarter of her video on the very first phrase ... and the best parts are still coming up."
Sebastian Bach is a walking metal encyclopedia. He not only sings but intensely studied the genre.
So is Dave Mustaine.
I'm actually glad you started with these 2 fantastic bangers cuz skid row's "wasted time" will actually melt you mind.. just when you think that it can't get any better, they took "wasted time" to a whole new level.. it actually scary how good that song is..
This song is way better than that.
In a darkened room!! Not only his voice but also the lyrics will cause you to burst in tears...
So happy you have embraced metal music the way you have. So many people outside the genre just think its loud, screaming or obnoxious music, but there are SIGNIFICANTLY talented musicians and singers all over the genre that are often overlooked simply because of the musical style
I saw him in 1989 and this summer and he is still as amazing as ever! One of the best singers out there.
You could hear that song a million times
(and I have) and get the chills every time..
Yup!
one of the best singers in rock history!
I’ve always thought Bach was a stunningly technical singer and never got recognition for it. Love to see you analyzing his vocals on this one!!
Absolutely he was taught bell canto technique which doesn’t harm the vocal chords which is why he can’t still kill it today another singer from Canadian band Helix also sings using bell canto and he also teaches it as well look up Brian Vollmer
Yes this is why people give Sebastian Bach so much credit, at this age he was the singer everyone else wish they had.
He is an astounding vocalist! Has always been one of my favorites! His stent on Broadway as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is fantastic! You would enjoy it very much!
In a darkened room will just blow you away with what this man can REALLY do.
In A Darkened Room is the song you really want to listen to. He explores his entire range, and the emotion in his voice is phenomenal.
It's hard to choose between a couple.. This one hits me in the feels every time.
Love Darkened room
Perfect voice and beautiful too!! Sebastian was straight up perfection in the 80-90's!
I watch your videos for the sole purpose of seeing someones genuine reaction to such wonderful tunes and vocalists. I cant go back and hear them for the first time but i can watch you and that gets me close enough!
Wasted Time and In a Darkened Room are incredible. A combination of talent and emotion that will leave you stunned.
Absolutely 1000% , he is so fun to talk with. You won't regret reaching out to him.
That child blew a child away lyric has always given me chills. His voice, wow. You are the best person to dissect this masterpiece. Came out when I was almost 18 and has always been one of my favorites! Thank you for spending time on this. You are magnificent at what you do 🥰 Your reaction was priceless.
It took me 30 years to realize that's was the line. But man is it powerful.
It makes my heart so happy to hear your appreciation for all of these amazing vocalists and music groups that I grew up with and still love 30+ years later!!!!
Sebastian is the true embodiment of a rockstar. He has the look, the style, the sound, the attitude, the lifestyle and his voice is one in a billion. Im so happy he's still making music and just put out a new album
He *had* the look. These days he looks like a middle school lunch lady.
@@A_Final_HitUnfortunately, some of us don't age well, the Rock lifestyle is hard on the body and the looks, Jon Bongovi is one of the few that hasn't lost his looks so much, often there's not much people can do too stop the march of time.
As George Michael said as a young man, "the music will still be there, when the looks are gone", too me this is right, personality and talent are so important, as looks fade.
One of the great singers from the period. Sebastian was leaps and bounds ahead of his peers. Such a great range with a lot of power.
Please do Skid Row “Wasted Time” next.
Baz is probably one of the best singers at “coloring” his vocal lines, meaning, he uses every technique he has, to paint almost every single word with the emotion he needs to convey the meaning of what he’s singing.
You are definitely, no question asked, the best reactor of these songs and I have had my share of them😊Your channel I discovered just yesterday😊Such long and thorough analizes😊Christmas time regards from Cracow🇵🇱🙃
"Sebastian Bach is a satisfying cupcake with sprinkles" - Elizabeth Zharoff-07/13/24
Sebastian Bach was untouchable in his youth! He still sounds great at 56 and will always be THE voice of Skid Row, imho.
Sounds good with a studio behind him, hasn't been good live for years
@@thrashandanarchyhe had lots of great live performances
Isn't Lzzy Hale the latest artist to try?
@@DrRyan81 I'm clearly hearing different things than you, because I haven't heard anything decent live for the last decade, and many of his contemporaries sound excellent
@@thrashandanarchy listen to his lives in 2011 then or Sweden rock 2012
Great reaction! Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to my one of my all time fave’s of his. 30+ years later and he still gives me goosebumps when I hear him hit those high notes. I knew you’d be amazed when you heard it and was SO looking forward to you doing this reaction video. Thank you! 😊
I would have heard that songs thousands of times and "That child blew a child away" still gives me goosebumps every time.
Quicksand Jesus or Wasted Time, honestly it's amazing how much they improved from their 1st album to their 2nd album. Most bands don't do that.
I agree with both of these. Wasted Time is the one most people thing if for the big notes, but I think Quicksand Jesus is more interesting vocally
Agreed, and it's sad that he normally doesn't fit these into his live shows anymore. Limited time, etc. I get it, but every so often would be great!
Quicksand Jesus may be one of their best songs
So glad to see so many other people giving love to Quicksand Jesus. I think Wasted Time is probably the best marriage of songwriting to vocal performance, but just isolating Bach's performance alone, Quicksand Jesus might honestly be the better example. It's really damn close.
I need to listen to that album again, like right now. :)
For sure the second album is a masterpiece.
Wasted Time is a must. Besides Sebastian's literally unbelievable range, this video shows his talent in relaying emotion. This is not just a song. It is a personal plea to a friend who has been deafened by falling into the black hole of heroin addiction. I don't think there is a more perfect example of the whirlwind of emotions experienced by those who have watched someone they love killing themselves and not being able to reach them. He sings from the depths of his soul and his pain is palpable. It is soul crushing and will leave you speechless. In my opinion, it is a masterpiece.
Impatiently waited all week for this one since your heads up comment & it didn't disappoint 😁Thanks for doing more Skid Row, please please please make Wasted Time the next song by them 🙏
as for your comments about his future, while I personally consider him one of the greatest singers I've ever heard, age wasn't kind to his voice & his career became more obsession with what he lost when kicked out of Skid Row, but fortunately we got 2 great albums & plenty more music videos to review of them 🤣(in no particular order) Monkey Business, Quicksand Jesus, Slave to the Grind, Youth Gone Wild 🤟
Youth Gone Wild & Slave to the Grind were the two other singles that got me into Skid Row along with 18 & Life, so there is always a soft spot for me there! Seeing him perform at a small club a couple years ago he still sounds killer live.
Other reaction channels come and go but I keep coming back to yours. I think it because of your skill, open mindedness and ability to evolve and continue to learn even though you are so proficient in many ways already.
Thank you for giving this incredible singer your love and time. Sebastian Bach is a living rockstar legend.
Wasted time and in a darkened room are both stunning. Skid row has always been a favorite of mine. My daughter absolutely LOVES their 2nd album.
When I first heard this, it blew me away. The lyrics, the music, the vocals, the storytelling, it’s a perfect song. What a voice!
When you listen to his speaking voice, even today, he is very unique. He has always been a little all over the place but that's also part of what makes things so wild when he sings and absolutely goes for it.
We in Gen X didn't know how good we got it musically. I blame big hair and shoulder pads for skewing our perception.
Nah, I knew. It was f-cking EPIC!
Coulda been all the residual Hairnet mist in the air leftover from the 80's
I dunno man. I mean Poison is a great Rock band so is Tesla. Tom Keifer plays like 17 instruments. Hair metal got a bad rap. I mean if you listen to Something to Believe in or Life Goes on and tell me that dude can't write or sing I just can't talk to you
@@TjM1978 - Poison is another band that got totally underrated... but in their case it was for all the semi- and full criminal antics they got up to along the way combined with their completely over the top glam look... half the time Riki Rocket had more makeup on than Tina fuckin' Turner... lol
22:10 "He's alien" LOOOOL
he is!! 👽
Thats my favorite part till the end vibrato... you can feel the anguish and emotion on bachs high notes.. my eyes teared up
These are some of the most genuine reactions to great songs I've seen anywhere online. I love watching these videos. Elizabeth, the nuanced metaphors and phrases you use perfectly describe the changes in tone and pitch, and how the singer achieves them. Like, the cupcake sprinkles metaphor - it's so silly, but it explains it PERFECTLY! Keep 'em coming! :D
Following this up with Warrant's "Uncle Tom's Cabin" would be awesome. Though I usually prefer live videos, I'd strongly suggest the official video - the imagery helps to tell the story and define the emotions in the song.
Or blind faith
Uncle Tom’s Cabin is a great song, regardless of genre. I Saw Red as well. Unusual phrasing and a great melody. Jani Lane was a talented writer.
Agreeeeeeed. One of my karaoke jams. Warrant was so much more than cherry pie.
Another vote for Wasted Time from me, also check out In a Darkened Room
Love love! So glad you did this song. Easily my favorite SR song. Still gives me goosebumps 35 years later. Love the videos. Keep them coming!
I saw Sebastian Bach as the lead in the Broadway play Jekyll and Hyde here in New York City in the early 2000's. And he KILLED IT! He was so good in it
“Child blew a child away” I was waiting to see your face when he hit that

His brand new song "Hold On (To The Dream) is phenomenal. Really worth a listen to see how great his voice still is.
I've heard some live stuff, and he did not sound great, they can do a lot with autotune today. I don't trust it.
@@jeremiahrose4681 Actually, you can't trust mobile phone sound.
I've recorded gigs on my phone that sounded great live, sounded great on soundboard and yet sounded horrible on the video I recorded. Phones have specific types of mics that emphasize certain sounds and cannot capture dynamic range.
Watching you listening to some of my favorite music for the first time makes me relive listening to it for the first time again. I can’t thank you enough for that.
Hi, crime author here. First off; thanks for being you. I've recently learned that I can sing (my SO introduced me to where my voice is, she had some choir training), and I've been following your channel and learning a lot. Keep doing your thing!
Anyhow, your comment about "why do guys keep guns in their pants??" I can (sorta) explain that. That style of carry is called "Appendix carry" or "Mexican carry". Yes, it's associated with criminals and yes, it's as dangerous a way of carrying a gun as you'd imagine for all the reasons you can think of. And yes, plenty of criminals are admitted to hospitals across the country from self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the...groin area.
Why people do it; mostly its so they can throw guns away if police are chasing them and have no connection to said gun - after all, if the cops don't actually catch you with the gun it isn't your gun. Also, it apparently feels "manly" and "badass" to have a gun shoved down your pants. I don't get that part any more than you do, but apparently it takes all kinds.
Youth gone wild is another one you need to do. Catchy chorus
She may not pick it next, but when she does, it will likely be her favorite.
This guys vocals are supersonic stratospheric and practically inter dimensional, just astonishing 🤩
Never been big on Skid Row, but MAN that guy has some pipes. "18 And Life" is an excellent song.
So...What are you big on?

His voice is amazing and I’m so glad you covered it ❤❤❤
One of the greatest hard rock songs ever written in imo. What a singer and what a band!
the ULTIMATE front man when they hit the scene. i played those first two albums to death back in the day. the end of this song gives me goosebumps.
Wasted time, in a darkened room, quicksand Jesús. 3 master pieces of skid Row
I totally liked slave to the grind cd it is a master piece and definitely not given the credit it deserves. Honestly have not heard a singer or band connected in sound and vocals as skid row did in those first two albums.
You should totally interview Sebastian Bach. I’m sure he’d be up for it (I mean don’t want to speak for him, but he’s a cool guy). I’ve seen podcasts with Dave “snake” from Skid row. It was great.
Absolutely correct in saying Sebastian has navigated a long and broad career with stratospheric highs and doldrums of the rigors of his profession.
He’s a very intense personality and is a true blue rock and roll hero, but his own worst enemy at times
My big brother Bobby gave me this tape for xmas when I was 12. It changed my life!
Skid Row Monkey Business, is a banger.
underrated song
My favorite song by Skid Row.
Love this song. Monkey Business and Youth Gone Wild are my personal favorites.
You read my mind
It's the groove, and the guitars that make this one kickass, actually. Taking nothing from S.B.
Imagine being a recording engineer in the room watching this vocal performance happen.
Sebastian’s voice is my all time favorite to listen to. There’s so much emotion, character and range. Every time you listen to a song, even after 30 years, you can hear something new and amazing. He is one of the most gifted singers of all time.
Sebastian Bach was called the "pretty boy with the golden voice". I never really liked hair bands or metal very much but I really liked a lot of Skid Row because of Sebastian Bach's voice. He said in an interview that his vocal style is an old Italian style called bel canto and it was taught to him by a man named Don Lawrence.
Brian Vollmer (Helix) has credited that learning bel canto theory saved his voice. He teaches that theory. Would be another great Tea Time as well.
Incredible, incredible vocal performance aside… over time I had forgotten what a simply well written and produced song this is. From the transitional bit between the first chorus and second verse, to the transition from the second chorus into the bridge (love how featured that bass fill is!)… Speaking of that bridge… what a bridge! Those unison single-note guitar lines build such tension, releasing into the vocal climax of the song, and a great, melodic guitar solo to follow. And Bach’s (fantastic) vocal gymnastics in the outro are underpinned by a fairly significant dynamic shift in the music… the acoustic guitars sneak back in under the electrics, and that beautiful counter-melody by the lead guitar, culminating in that brief outro solo. What a tune! One of the first I learned (poorly!) when I first started playing.
Sebastian has always been my favorite singer. I am planning to buy his latest album on vinyl as soon as I can.
Skid row was my first live concert i went with a few friends and was just blown away. Sadly one of my closest friends who was with us died in an accident at his grandmothers two days after the concert. Every time i hear Skid Row i think of him. 13 years old is far to young to lose your life. R.I.P. Travis wherever you are.
So sorry for your loss, I lost my best friend Logan to cancer @ 27. Thankfully, we still have the songs that help keep those memories alive and soothe our soul. Peace.
I was a teenager when this song was new. The first time I heard it, it was a great rock song. The second time, I heard the words. If a song made me cry before that, I don't remember it.
Hi Elizabeth, I really enjoyed watching your reaction and vocal analysis of Sebastian's singing. I have listened to alot of hard rock metal bands since the 80s and so I already had the full expectation of Skid Row having a phenomenal singer. None of the successful bands at the time would have gotten respect from the fans unless they did sing very powerfully. Sebastian is naturally blessed with the ability to sing the way he does, even though I know he has had vocal training and I think he did train for awhile with Rob Halford from Judas Priest who has an amazing unique voice which is often operatic. What I especially like about Sebastian's singing is that he emphasizes each word he's singing, he puts his whole heart and soul into every word and as a music listener I can really feel what he is feeling. He's taking us on a journey as he tells the story of the song. My favorite song he sings is "I Remember You" especially the part where he sings "oh my darlin' I LOVE YOU!!!!" What teen girl wouldn't fall in love with a guy who sings like that? :) His most recent album and the song "Future of Youth" is amazing! Especially the kids choir singing at the end. You have got to watch that video right away before any others! :) I say that mostly because it starts out very heavy and then the chorus is happy and uplifting! When you said you thought the way he sings his wails toward the end of 18 and Life, he must not be from this planet, I think he's an Angel disguised as a heavy metal rocker. All Angels like to sing! 🪽
You could say that this song is about stupid mistakes of youth that can ruin your life. Dave Sabo wrote this song originally about his brother Rick that came home from Vietnam a different person but couldn't make the lyrics work so they changed it to be a story about an 18 year old boy who shot his friend by accident. He thought the gun wasn't loaded.
That's interesting. I thought that originally Dave Sabo wrote this song with the lyrics referring to his brother who served in Vietnam, and as he came back home, he was a different person. It was Jon Bon Jovi who gave him advice about making the subject of the song related more to everyone else's experiences, so listeners could find something on which they could relate. Recently I watched an interview with Rachel Bolan who pointed out this.
@@AnnaluisaSocher After further research, you are right, it originally started out originally about Dave's brother that went to Vietnam and came back a different person but they said it didn't work out as they wanted to so they changed the narrative (from an interview on Bravewords website entitled 'Dave "Snake" Sabo tells the true story behind Skid Row Class "18 and Live.) I can't put the link here, RUclips will delete the comment (updated my comment based on further research)
@metalmark1214 Yes, you're right, it was Dave Sabo's interview, I did remember wrong. Thanks for your reply :)
New Album out too an its great
I was fortunate enough to see him sing this live in 1991 when they supported GnR and he was even more impressive live. The fact he was really just a kid when he sang this is incredible.
I caught them the following year when Pantera was opening for Skid Row. One of the best concerts I ever attended.
A concert that I still regret missing for some stupid reason
Same! I saw them at the Cap Center in DC and then 2 nights later in Hampton Va. Still the very best concerts ever. Saw them several more times over the next few years. Always put on the best show. Great sound, and Sebastian was just vocal perfection. Glory days for sure
1990 for me in Sydney. My friends weren't really into Skid Row, but I had to be there.......
Since I found your channel I absolutely love your analysis of the vocals your covering on the episode. ❤❤❤❤
Anyone else remember 'Gilmore Girls' whenever they see Sebastian Bach? Lol he was like one of the best characters
This Skid Row era of Sebastian Bach was definitely amazing to experience. I check out his newer stuff from time to time because he's still a great singer, even though it's not the same level.
I knew you'd love this. His voice here is probably one of the most incredible I've ever heard. The range on this guy...! "Youth Gone Wild" is also incredible.
My first thought for so many of your choices is hoping that the artists themselves are able to take in your analysis of their performances. I think most would be honored and really enjoy the detail and enthusiastic respect.
Justin Hawkins reacted to her analysis of I Believe in a Thing Called Love. It was super fun, they also did a video together but it's long and I haven't had time to watch it yet.
@@StealAwayTheStars Will check out. Thanks!
His voice is amazing! His hair was amazing- as a matter of fact his hair is still amazing! I saw someone say invite him on- I too bet he would!
While not all of our music tastes are the same, i really enjoy your analysis of the music, and your enjoyment of the abilities of certain artists. Your enthusiasm is delightful. 😊
Historycaly good
Truly one of the greatest voices to grace this planet. For more Skid Row, "Wasted Time" is one of their very best, or "In A Darkened Room"
Thumbs Up for the song Monkey Business. Elizabeth needs to hear it.
Agreed. Monkey Business is one of their best!
I'm here for it
React to "In a darkned Room" Best vocals ever!!!
I agree - there's something about his vocals in 'In a Darkened Room' that's stood out a bit more to me than in all the other songs on The Slave to the Grind and Skid Row albums since they came out
Absolutely one their best tracks
This is the song that'll blow her mind. I already thought Sebastian Bach was a top notch singer after listening to their first album, but when I've listened "In a Darkened Room" for the first time...man, the chills were real
And beautiful guitars.
I watched him live last week in San Diego, the last night of a 43-show tour. He's 57 now and still does a creditable job of hitting those notes. Maybe not as good as 1989 at the Hammersmith Odeon but those are not easy songs to nail even when you're 19!
