10 Foot Tracker Jon Boat Setup With Wheels

- Quick video tour of my 10 foot Jon boat. It is a simple setup to be able to do all the basic things you might need to do while out fishing. This boat is perfect for one or two fisherman on a small lake or river that has very little flow or chop.
I have added wheels on the back that can be flipped up easily so that they do not create drag while in the water moving from place to place. The wheels have held up great over time and are extremely robust. They are made from stainless steel so I will not need to worry about rust. I would highly recommend doing this to your Jon boat if you are trying to avoid purchasing a trailer, fishing somewhere with no boat ramp, or need to be able to load and launch the boat by yourself. Any questions please ask! To find these style of wheels just do a quick eBay search for "transom wheels" and you should be able to find something like mine for about $75 to $100.

Maybe you will have better luck than me with this type of seat mount but I was having trouble with them and ended up just breaking off the front "quick disconnect" tab and I can slide the seats in and out real easily now.

You have this setup great, perfect for small rivers, ponds, etc and you have way more room than a kayak very nice!

I have those exact same wheels on my 12.5 foot 95 lb shadow caster kayak. After 3 years fishing in salt water they still haven't failed me. I even modified them to swing up sideways on mine. They are quality stuff!

Great set up! I had wheels mounted on the top rails, so one would turn boat upside down to travel, then flip over and put gear in boat, it was that way when I got it, but it helped and we loved those wheels!

How exactly did you screw in the seat mounts to the benches? The metal is so thin that there isn't much for screws to grab...I got the "seat clamp" mounts from bass pro, and fastening the retention brackets for em with the supplied screws didn't work as well as I was hoping. They're beefy screws to with a good semi-course thread.

Can you run the boat in the water with the wheels down? Does it feel any different than having them up?
I have before when I've forgotten to put them up... Adds a bit more drag in the water and you may move a bit slower but it'll still work.

I found them on eBay but this was a long time ago. I'm sure you can find a similar variant on there.
How fast can you go with that trolling motor?
A 10 footer can fit in the back of a truck or do you need a trailer for it?
Mine fits fine in a F150 shirt bed.

I flip them up out of the water and pin them so they are up.
According to tracker a ten footer only holds like 400lbs how much do you and your buddy weigh and does it hold up well in water with weight?

Yes! Just try and minimize equipment weight tho if you have two

hey man how do you find the weight capacity? im looking at a Lowe Jon Boat but the 10 footers are saying like 275lb max weight or 420lb for the extra wide 10 footer. is this extremely on the safe side do you think??
Hey Brad! I actually just picked up the same boat and I have now purchased the same wheels. Did you extend the transom to the floor before mounting the wheels? Or did you just put it through the aluminum and that's it.
Hey Peter, I just went thru the aluminum and then put some marine sealant in between the holes and tightened up after.

What’s the biggest lake you’ve been in with this boat?
There are not many lakes around me where I live but the largest would be just over 300 acres or so. It holds up great in that lake.
