    CHAPTER 4-
    =Boat Launch Wheels On My Jon Boat=
    INSTALL AND DEMO
    This is the fourth video for the new jon boat to bass boat build I am doing. In this video I will do a step by step installation of Brocraft Boat Launch wheels on the transom of my 12 ft aluminum jon boat. I give an in depth look at the transom mount launch wheels I use, my thoughts on the product, an in depth step by step installation and show all the tools and materials needed to complete a quality installation. Lastly, I'll show you the launch wheels in action on the boat as a finished product! I will include details step by step through the process and all tools and materials needed to perform the task at hand on this jon boat project.
    This is a continuing series documenting the build process of my new 12 ft jon boat project which will be a portable, trailerless, fishing boat. Whether you follow along to learn something or help with your jon boat project or just enjoy watching me on my boat project, hopefully you enjoy and can take something away from this process!
    New videos coming every week documenting this ful build so stay tuned! Subscribe here and follow the build on:

    Beautiful job, it looks great! I just got a very old 14' jon boat to use for fishing in a reservoir (only rowing allowed) and plan to put a new transom and wheel on it. Will also paint it, but as it will live at the reservoir I won't be going all out with anything further. Do you plan to add handles back on? You are running out of space back there. I guess if it needs to be lifted the wheels make a nice handhold.

    • @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats
      @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats  4 года назад

      Yes, I plan to put handles back on. Will do after the float pods are welded on and I get to a final fabrication point on the transom. I have a few ideas, may actually do something custom and weld on. Yet to be determined.

    Hey man those look awesome. Im looking to solve a problem with my jonboat w 6hp outboard maybe u can offer some advice. I use my jb mostly for bowhunting a stretch of creek. Where i hunt is about a mile from the nearest landing and a stretch of creek more often than not is blocked by huge fallen oaks. The solution to this would be to just pull the boat on the bank if the creek is to skurt the tree and put the boat back in the water. My question is do y think these wheels would work fir a 14' jb with an outboard? I saw urs doesnt have a motor so im sure they work fine. I have a trailer just trying to figure out how to get around these random trees. Lmk what u think.

    • @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats
      @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats  3 года назад

      No. The wheels are not rated for speeds over 10mph maybe. Not saying it isn't possible with custom fabricated set up, but these aren't that.

    • @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats

      It's in the title. "Launch Wheels On My Jon Boat"
      If you actually watch the video, I state at the 2:30 second mark why I use the wheels. But to save you from actually watching - the boat is trailerlessand goes in the bed of my truck. So the wheels are what the title of the video says they are.

    • @AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats

      I guess you can but two things. One, the transom load wouldn't be centered over the wheels anymore as your kicking the wheels out past the transom. Two, when you lift the wheels up they will then angle inside the boat. Just food for thought.

      Nothing wrong w that man! Lots of people have made their own but for the wheels I wanted to use and to make them right, it was about 75$. The brocraft ones are 150$. At that point I decided my time is more valuable to me than saving 75 bucks. So I just ordered them and bolted them on. I also have a pretty big budget on my build, so there's that as well.

      @@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats on the amazon link you have they're $169.99. I think I could make them for around 20 to $30 with using stuff from harbor freight and maybe some scrap stuff I have laying around. The boat I have is a Tempco jon boat and it is beat to hell so I'm trying to get by with spending as little as possible on this project. I even made my own "motor" with a replacement minn kota propeller, stick of all thread, scrap conduit I had and a couple lock nuts and use my dewalt 20v drill haha made it for $20 but works like a charm!
