@ 3:55 - so, when you are out on the water, all you have to do is get out of your boat and stand in the water and, with only one hand, lift the trolling motor out of the water. it's that easy!

I have a older grizzly bro this is a bad ass build going to try and do something similar to this when u extended the deck did u weld or bolt the supports down to the boat? Can you give me a little more info on all that please?

The only issues I’ve had in 3 years , was the winch on the trailer is a piece of crap so I replaced it .. and the seat post holes aren’t really true to size so there’s a small wiggle in the seats . But that’s been it .

donald hussey yes sir ! At times I’ll just use 1 motor (the back motor) to move around a lake , and I’ll get 3 mph give or take a little more depending wind and current . Never much under 3 mph . With 4 batteries you could def last all day long . The boat moves pretty easy .

Nice job, gave me some good ideas. I do want to know what gauge diamond plate did you use for both the flooring and the angled side braces and where did you buy it? It looks pretty thick and expensive- that would make those decks more than the $200-300 range you stated. Your front battery is not tied into any switched electrical circuit or an on-board charger is that right?
I have almost the same boat I have the 1448 same front and rear deck. Smaller in center I went with mercury 25hp I get 27 mph . May lose some speed just added a x5 75 lb trolling motor 24 volt system. Really great video I like your Extended deck alot !
johnnymohani I’ve never been in a topper. I’ve only see others .. I will say I “think” this would be more stable since it’s wider . Yes it’s heavier . So doesn’t blow around in the wind as much but will be a tad slower . . But will hold more weight too if you need more battery’s .. all weld will last longer too . But the width is my favorite thing . Much more sturdy with 2 people standing ontop
Bad ass set up. If you choose to upgrade your stern motor, you can build a motor using a golf cart motor attached to an old gas motor, its pretty simple and not very expensive. What batteries are you running? Guessing 4 6v wired in series? Or 2 12v that you can swap?

Using an old 8 hp mercury motor with a golf cart motor attached to the shaft using a love joy coupling. Also, for battery set up, look into running 6v golf cart batteries, you will get a lot more run time.
@@bassmoore2083 there's a few companies that make bad ass electric motors, torqeedo is one but you're gonna pay and there's also a company called ray marine I believe, he builds the aforementioned golf cart motors, but you could definitely build one for less then 1k

Yeah I think they are , mainly since they have gaps but are still strong . It’s a good DIY thing . It’s not professional by any means , but I’ve had it for a year now and haven’t had any issues
Its a purchase ad on yes, I think it was like 1100 for the trailer.. the trailer is crap honestly. If you can find one better, i would suggest that. But if its all you can get, it will hold up with some maitenance
@@derekskinner2555 so i can tell u, i bought the boat, then the trailer. i think it was like 5500 total . not 100% exact there. by the time I bought both motors i was near 7k , depth finder was another 500. so we are looking at around 8-9k total . its a nice boat. I would recommend it. If its something you are looking into keeping for a while, and something you would consder making a deck in, I would look into a 17-18 ft aluminum bass boat. Already pre rigged wiht the motors n stuff. I sometimes wish i went that route, but ive made this work for what I am doing.

Aluminum tubing or angle and a riveter also works, but that requires a lot more work

I've had mine for 4 years. It is an excellent boat. I bought mine with a 30 hp merc. Hasn't have me trouble yet.

Yeah man , his videos are pretty awesome. I was going to try some of his tricks, but this was alot more cost effective for the time being
