Dude... that is a super simple casting deck! LOVE IT! Thank you for sharing. I will only mod it slightly for salt with Stainless hinges (or aluminum if they exist) and Sea Deck. Boom... Super Simple and Done. I will be storing mine indoors... so the wood should last a good long while too. I was wanting to do this in sheet metal... however, after seeing how simple yours is, I will likely go with wood and replace it when it does finally wear out every so-often (hopefully a decade or longer). LOVE the whole deck being able to lift up too.
In my opinion this is the best Jon boat conversation plan. Amazing job and thank you so much for sharing! I cant wait to see more videos of the layout in use. Seriously great job!
Simple but efficient, can always change and/or add on to your setup for cheap. Way I have always preferred kayak and Jon boat fishing setups over $$$$ bass boats. Can always evolve a Jon boat into some close or beyond that high dollar boats, also don’t have to worry about scratching it like those bad boat guys do. 🤣🤣
I think I have found the perfect setup for mine now! You definitely gave me the direction I wanna go the only issue I will have since I do club tournaments is my livewell cooler
Tim Ransom i actually use a standard cooler with an aerator that recirculates water and on hot days I’ll use Ice and use please release me treatment to remove the chlorine helping them stay alive and kicking
This video is awesome! This is the EXACT setup I’m looking to do I have a 12’ Jon boat and a 2.5 hp motor and a trolling motor. I want it to double as a hunting boat too😁
I have been watching several videos regarding aluminum jon boats. The main reasons I am interested in one of these is price, second is my main vehicle is a jeep wrangler and its towing capacity isn't real high. I noticed in the video you also drive a jeep wrangler. Does it pull the boat with no issues? Any issues pulling it up a hill or on gravel etc.
I've seen several v-hull boats with decks built in. You just have to frame up a way to mount your plywood and stuff in the shape of the space you want to fill. You can still make it storage space too!
Your videos inspiring man. Im fishing a 14’ V hull jon boat with a 25hp at the Barton’s Creek tournaments run by Outhouse Tackle. Hoping I can make it to a glass boat next year. Love your videos bro! Hope I run into you out there one day
I need some confidence...ive never owned a jon boat super unsure about stability ..im interested in a 12ft if anything it would be for me and just a friend to go out bass fishing in small lakes and rivers...is a 12 ft jon boat good enough??
I can't stop watching your video, it inspired me to go buy my own jon boat from academy yesterday. Your videos are awesome, did you drill any holes into your jon boat for this build?
Did you attach the 3/4” plywood to your middle bench, or is it removable as well? If it isn’t, doesn’t it slide? I don’t want to frame a casting deck and this seems super simple.
Andy Bethea yeah all the pieces of plywood on the benches are screwed in to the boat and the front hatch isn't attached to anything and it just fits snugly between the two pieces that are screwed in.
Hey bro is it pretty stable? I had a job boat once and it was scary unstable. I think it was a 10’ maybe? Kinda thin. I am looking at buying a 12’ polar craft Jon in perfect shape.
It was pretty stable with one person but you gotta be careful with two, i don’t think it would flip but any little movement could easily throw you off balance

Man ive been looking for a simple build for awhile. This looks legit man great work!
Austin Fry thank you! Good luck with your build!
Hey if you were to sale it where would you put the price

Love the simple front deck and hatch
Thank you Im glad you enjoyed it!
I like that! Simple and functional!! Nice job!
wow !!! that's exactly how I'm going to do it.. nice set up d00d !!!
Thanks man I’m glad the video was helpful!
I like these 12 foot boats because a 9.9 will push them fast, and they’re fairly stable and can get in small spaces.
Good job man. Nice and simple.

I plan on upgrading to a 12ft jon boat myself lol.. I like the modifications you’ve done to it! Nice video bro!
Thanks bro!! Good luck!!
How much weight can the boat hold?
Just found your channel man! high quality content.
WB OUTDOORS thanks man! I really appreciate it!

No issues at all! I actually have a 18’ express bass boat now and my jeep pulls it great! You shouldn’t have any problems pulling a jon boat!
Great video dude I love mine but yours is gorgeous!
Thanks man I really appreciate it!
Pretty cool man! Thanks for sharing! 🎣
I would love to do something like this but I have a v haul but no front bench I’m not sure how to build a casting deck lol love your vids

Thomas Vangrinsven thanks bro! and yeah im sure there’s tons of ways to make a simple deck for a v-haul just keep searching!
I like it. I might redo my 1036 with 3/4" and take out the heavy 2x4 framing

I Have A 12 Footer Also...
What part of NC are you in? I'm around the Wilmington area. Asking because I'm always looking for new places to fish!

@@jamiehegarty_ no prob
Sweet boat bro! What pound thrust is your trolling motor?
Jackson Inman thanks bro! And 45
I got a 12 footer to i recently put a 9.8 elactric start tohatsu 4 stroke on it runs 20 to 22 with just me hits around 17 with me and my buddy in it
I need some confidence...ive never owned a jon boat super unsure about stability ..im interested in a 12ft if anything it would be for me and just a friend to go out bass fishing in small lakes and rivers...is a 12 ft jon boat good enough??
Great setup makes me wanna start a build like that instead of wasting a lot of money on a boat
I can't stop watching your video, it inspired me to go buy my own jon boat from academy yesterday. Your videos are awesome, did you drill any holes into your jon boat for this build?
Jackson Inman thanks bro I really appreciate that! And yeah i had to screw in the wood thats attached to the seats
Good stuff bro! I like your vids, I'm subbed.
HaltySalty thank you bro! i really appreciate it!!
Can you post the link to the guy you were referring too, that gave you the idea? Thanks! Great video!
Apex King thanks man and its in the description!
What kind of mount are you using for the trolley motor?
Hey man! Working on a conversion myself. I’m just curious, for the trolling motor, could you purchase a foot pedal if you wanted??
Hey Jamie! Looks amazing, do you remember the width of this Jon boat?
Nice video man. Very clean and very simple!
Sucks that your not doing a in depth vid on the construction because I’m going to do the same thing minus the trolling motor and gas motor.
Just found this. Thinking of getting a jon boat and get out of a kayak. You still fish Highway 50 launch?
Finally a simple jon boat build. This is a sick vid and great inspiration for a build in the future. What trolling motor are you running?
this thing is sick dude
CODY HALLMAN thanks dude!!!!
What does the insulation foam help with??
If you glue it to the boat it’ll help keep it floating longer if you end up taking on water and i was also using it as support for the plywood
@@jamiehegarty_ oh ok thanks man
I also have a 12 ft Jon boat. How wide is your boat? I think mine is narrower than normal. Makes it hard to stand up to cast.
love ur vids
How is the stability in your boat? I also have a 12ft that I am looking to redo but have concerns of stability. I am 5'8" 189lbs.
Joe Moyer Fishing it was decently stable and after fishing in it long enough you start to get used to learning where the balance is
Jamie Hegarty awesome thanks
Hi. Can you supply the link for the video you used for the bow deck?
Sick editing great vid
Jack Austin thanks man i really appreciate that!!
Here from tik tok
Max V. sickkkkk. thanks broo
What the hell is tick tock
Jamie Hegarty what is your tiktok
This looks really good....... giving me an idea man...lol great video!!!!
Slangin7.62 thanks man!

Jamie Hegarty thanks man! I just finished the floor. Starting to reconsider the deck due to stability. Can’t imagine a deck would make it any better
Hey bro is it pretty stable? I had a job boat once and it was scary unstable. I think it was a 10’ maybe? Kinda thin. I am looking at buying a 12’ polar craft Jon in perfect shape.
122 footer is plenty big for one person to fish. I'm building an 8 footer right now just for fishing. Plenty of room for me.
Does that trolling motor have a 42 inch shaft
Zman23wi9 im not too sure I would say it’s around that length tho! I’d go measure it for you but I don’t own that boat anymore.
✊
Milky Person ✊
When you use the trolling motor do you use reverse to go forwards or did you switch the prop around?
You can actually just reverse the direction of the tiller. There's a couple of videos on youtube that show you how to do it.
SWAG_DOCTOR_ 29 yeah it's pretty simple to turn the handle around i think just a single screw if I remember correctly!
I would run into trouble with the cord and wiring
What is the width of the floor of the boat?
What kind of depth finder do you have?
Irving Saucedo just got a garmin 9” echo maps plus! im going to do a full vid on it and how i installed it soon!
I have a little 12 ft Jon and a old 25 Merc, some pontoons welded should make this thing fly
What Ah battery do you run?
Saw this off tik tok
Jack Austin what is his tiktok
Nice job...
How stable is she?
It was pretty stable with one person but you gotta be careful with two, i don’t think it would flip but any little movement could easily throw you off balance

Joe Ray nice bro!! What lakes do you like to go to?
Was this a 1232 or 1236?
WB OUTDOORS 1236
How’s it holding up?
How wide is the boat
How stable?
Hey I will take a 2.5 over my oars any day

Should of got the 6hp
It would be nice to know your boat's dimensions, and please don't just say "12 foot".
