Nate, I dig it man. I am also a marine and I have 2 Purple Hearts. I have been wanting to make a tiny bass boat in the theme of a Purple Heart also to match my RUclips channel, keep fishin’ which focuses on helping those with PTSD understand that fishing is a true therapy. Again, awesome work brother
Wow, that might be the best build I’ve seen yet. These videos continue to motivate and inspire me to build my own. Keep up the great work and awesome videos!
Yeah, this was way cool to watch. The end result far blew away what I was expecting. Really top notch, quality work. If someone showed up in my driveway with something like this at Christmas, I would be so thankful. Simply beautiful in craftmanship. Well Done Nate.
Nate that boat turned out awesome. Really liked the detail you put into it to make it the owner’s . Awesome job can’t wait to see more builds from you!
Watching your videos for build idea's and how to accomplish certain things. I have a late 50's to early 60's Richline Challenger 14' V-bottom I am working on. Not really sure of the year as a previous owner Refurbished the boat in 1969 and threw away the data plate attached to the wood from the transom. It was consequently registered as a Kansas Home built. With money tight I am slowly transforming it into a decked tiny boat. Thank you for the videos you guys put out, and please keep them coming.
I have a Lund tyee that I got for a great deal and being in Minnesota I have plenty of place I can use it but I am inspired and have been doing lil upgrades all the time to make my boat that much better seeing this build like many others on TBNation it makes me still want to build a nice boat that meets more my needs thank you for the revive Nate it is a beautiful build and so inspiring
Real nice outcome! I personally want some different things but the build quality and forethought is on par no doubt. Id like a lower floor all around & a trolling deck in front but not all the way up to the top. But would love some lockers/storage & a live well ! Nice job Nate!
Glad to see that you are using 3/16’ diameter rivets. Most other videos use lots of 1/8” rivets. Your pneumatic riveter looks like the one I got from HF. It works great especially when using the larger diameter rivets.
Do it yourself. Trust me. Save $2,500 for parts. Get the boat and do it yourself. That's what I'm doing. I'm using a friends garage and I have no experience with riveting but if I run into problems I can just purchase the guy's patreon and he will tell you through it step by step and it'll give you access to a ton more videos of the entire process
I too am impressed. Just wondering have you ever considered using PVC Foam Board ? It is very similar to ply to work with, but is a little lighter, doesn't absorb water and won't rot ( no need to paint it ) and is available in thicknesses from 10mm ( 3/8" ) up to 30mm ( 1 3/16" ) . The board I use for outdoor kitchens etc is made by Nan Ya Plastics. It is affordable and easily glued with PVC primer and glue and doesn't splinter. There are also a few companies producing plastic and also aluminum honey-comb board in various thicknesses, both are very lite but expensive.
Beautiful build very inspired to one day build my own don't know a lick about working with aluminum but very comfortable with fiberglass ever consider building one with a steering wheel under 16ft
Amazing build and craftsmanship. What size rivet did you use to mount the frame to the hull? I am at the framing portion of my build right now and want to make sure I do it right.
I need to find out how to get those decals. Getting ready to wrap my Lowe roughneck in a pretty sick skull pattern. When I seen what sham did with wrapping his boat . I knew that I was going to have to soon .
Marek Mrowiec Jason Braun at tiny boat nation decals can hook you up with everything you need. I made tubes by heating up with heat gun and pressing over a bottle
What is the red on the underside of the hatches? Is it the same red you would use in backerboard install for water proofing a shower? Or is it paint? Primer? A Combination?
IDK.. I have a 78 LoweLine 1648 with the original benches, new seats and a modified front deck and it holds 3 people fishing comfortably, plus more storage for coolers and tackle since it is all right there on the original floor. This is nice, but I feel like it is only good if you are fishing alone.

This was sick. I’ve been trying to come up with a plan to enhance all the space in in a jon boat and this was a great representation!

Nope, there's not enough room on a 16ft as-is let alone with a steering wheel. He's answered that question multiple times in other videos.
damn thats a nice build..i love the rod holders

Nate bro that boat is sick i wish i had one cause i hit small lakes and not real big ones

Is 650 acres a small lake? Or what is considered small?
Nice work!

that is crazy awesome build.. what would u recommend for a saltwater boat to replacd carpet?
Bigsal51FishingTexas ya turf is a better option
This is amazing.
I still love your videos
Beautiful boat… wish I had talent like that
Grate job, fantastic project.
How you made logo on carpet? and I can get them tubes for rod's storage compartment?
Marek Mrowiec Jason Braun at tiny boat nation decals can hook you up with everything you need. I made tubes by heating up with heat gun and pressing over a bottle
Makes me wanna rip up the floor in my boat and copy this design.
I’m using your videos to help me rebuild a 18ft champion bass boat, especially the electrical videos and the framing videos.
You did an amazing job .... How much would you charge to do another one
Don Betz email me at natescustomboats@gmail.com. Or join tiny boat nation. I’m on there constantly. You can pm me if need be
Amazing!
Nice boat build. Though I am curious why you didn’t do any foam?
Neal Scoggins was in footage lost. Two kits of pour foam. And 1.5” sheets in floor and nose
This is badass! What’s a build like this run on a 12 footer?
Love it want to do similar on a 14ft here in the UK 🇬🇧
If rivets were good enough for world war II battleships, they're good enough to catch 4 lb fish.
I’ll toast to that!
Good enough For Helicopters as well
Lol hell yea !! Comment made me laugh.
What is the red on the underside of the hatches? Is it the same red you would use in backerboard install for water proofing a shower? Or is it paint? Primer? A Combination?
This thing is freakin sick🔥
nice build. has anyone tried priming or sealing the wood to see if it holds up better?
richard cranium it did get sealed. The footage was lost in transfer. You should always seal all wood
Amazing work. Hopefully soon I can get in contact with you when I buy my boat and let you customize it

John upchurch ya as long as it’s a decent hull to start
