Topical fin, 0.5ml 0.2% (0.25ml twice daily) with micro needling at 1.5mm once a week, minoxidil +tretinoin twice daily has given me some regrowth after about two months use, and I am pretty far gone.
How far gone were u? want to try... atm norwood 6/7. Very upsetting. Tried topical minox and got side effects so stopped. Rolling & using other natural sort of stuff atm, but no real regrowth, very minimal, topical fin hopefully no sides?
I’ve tried topical finasteride with 8% minoxidil and 0.25% Finasteride and I’d say maybe like 4 months I have seen a noticeable difference in the crown and center area. So yes it does work. 😊 I’m hoping by the end of the year it’s gonna be even more substantial.
@@tonypower5625 Well if its 1mL total I'm assuming its 0.5mL on back crown and 0.5mL in front. You just get 0.5mL from dropper, start from the back and add droplets around and then start spreading it with your finger all around. Then you do the same with the front. To avoid getting your hair too greasy you can comb first with your hands, then use a comb for a little bit, wash it with soap, dry it, and comb again.
@@Sandeepbishnoi-wx5zb The only side effect I saw was slight shedding maybe a bit of irritation but nothing crazy and goes away. Otherwise I feel the same. You’re less likely to get any internal side effects going topical.
Great video! Great summary! 0,2 ml is a joke...as a person who use topical 5ARI for 10 years a can only say that the volume of the solution is ridiculous...did they study the effects on 1 square cm of head or what? A study designed for a thesis, have no doubt. Both myself and many people I know have the same side effects after topical as after tablets, end of story.
If you read the study, they used a spray bottle with a cone attached to the nozzle to make sure all of the spray is directed to the head. Each spray was 0.05 mL and depending on coverage needs, allowed up to 4 sprays. If you are applying 1 mL with a dropper, then you are applying a lot more than what was studied. The point of the study seems to be that with a protocol designed to use 20% of the normal topical dosage, similar hair growth can be achieved with a lot less sides.
Available Topical Finasteride has a dosage that is to high, the DHT Levels with 0,25% at 1ml are around 70%. You would nee a solution of about 0,01% at 1ml to have close to 0% affection of your DHT Levels. You only want the DHT Levels from your scalp to be dropped, but not the whole body.
@@espada9noveno right, but it has to be at super low micro dosages. My side effects went away after going to a 0.05mg topical solution. But if you do high dosage, like 1mg, you may as well take the pill because it'll have the same effect to your serum DHT
Thank you so much for this video! Easy to watch, friendly and charismatic personality and great outlining of the pros and cons of the drug and the study.
but what if you use diluted topical finasteride with a dosage of 0.2mg/1ml. that would mean you'd stil get the 0.2 mg daily but just a larger surface area to cover right?
Even if chances are lower with topical finasteride, Post Finasteride Syndrome is still an issue, it doesn’t disprove that there aren’t benefits for hair growth but you are sacrificing your sexual health for a cosmetic benefit and the risks and benefits need to be informed to patients about this. If sexual function is not a big deal to a person, that’s fine, let the person take the hair growth medication, it’s not a guranteed side effect but there’s always a probability that it can happen and because PFS is an unsolved conditions that is currently incurable, we need to press for better informed consent and research for PFS to solve it so everyone can benefit.

Hopefully i literally fix my hair with this and get no sides randomly
I was on topical for a month to see if it work. I think it was mainly the minoxidil I used as a solvent but now my hairline is really thick. I say if you’re using topical minoxidil as a treatment, why not crush some finasteride pills and pour it into the mix. Now you’re getting minoxidil to regrow and fin will keep the hair there as long as it can. Only been doing 1ml a day with 0.025. Side effects from stopping Oral fin decrease in a few days for me. libido was stronger, my muscles looked way more full and it look as if I had a constant pump, visions became sharper, and also anxiety decrease, and weight loss is way easier to drop and muscles puts on easy. Both oral fin and oral minoxidil both really fucking suck. Is either limp dick or Heart problems. Can’t believe they’re still selling us these ancient products that we had to resort to switching from oral to topical because of the nasty sides. Pyrilutamide looks really promising and the sides are low. Can’t be FDA approved any sooner.
Side effects don't just vanish in days after you stop fin. Fin circulates in blood for months after your last dose. What you're describing is a classic case of placebo. "Muscles look bigger in days after stopping fin". Relax.

I started using the spray and it ended up in the ER with serious breathing problems and very serious water retention with blood pressure sky high! Told doc what I just started and he said stop, I did and within two days breathing was normal and I peep the extra water out. I am very disappointed because I wanted this to work.
This would be awesome. I saw an entry in a forum where a guy had great success with dut mesotherapy - didnt go nearly as systemic due to higher molecular weight. Would love to hear if it works that way for everyone
One does not need anything close to the 0.25% used in the study. Of course the drug will go systemic. By using anywhere from 0.01-0.02% topically you can get great results (been using this dose for months). Think about it for a second. By applying the low dose finasteride directly on the scalp, you are by passing the process by which the drug is processed in the body. Of course some men will get sides when half or more of their DHT is blocked. You also need to use the topical all over the scalp in order to halt hair loss.
Hi Mike, I'm also using a low dosage of topical fin (0.005% per ml x 2). I've been on this for two months now. At what month did you start to notice less hair fall especially in the shower? Thank you.
@@dubedition13 Hey man! Sorry for the late response. So around maybe a month into using the solution. Honestly, I am not sure if my dose percentage is correct though? Currently adding a quarter of a 1 mg finasteride pill (0.25%). This to a 60 ml solution, and apply 4 1 mg drop fulls.

Minoxidil will definitely assist in hair growth too. Many formulations have these mixed together. I cannot comment on their effectiveness however i see no reason why they shouldn’t work. But if you want you can use 2 different solutions. One Topical finasteride, and one topical minoxidil.

Hi there @Trichogenics I use fynzur (topical finasterid of 2.275 mg/ ml) since like 10 days. I use 2 to 4 sprays a day like mentioned on the package. But from that i have some sideeffects like headache and libido reduction. Its not enormous, but scary nonetheless. Now i heard you mentioning microdosing. Since 2.275mg/ ml is still pretty high dosage, i think microdosing could work to reduce sideeffects and still have some visible gains. Also i want to mix it with minoxidil to enhance the positives! Now whats the rate i have to mix the existing Fynzur with a carrier to get results? What do you think? And what carrier is optimally used? Since i have sensitive skin i'd rather prefer destilled water to alcohol. Does that work too?
my serum dht was crushed by a 2.5% liposomal topical finasteride (7 month). So be careful about the dosage even with topical, there is systemic absorption
2.5 % of topical finasteride concentration is an enormous quantity of the drug applied to the scalp daily. It's like 25 mg for every ml of solution, so that's why serum DHT decreased so much. The solution described in the video has much less concentration of finasteride, to simplify is like 0.25 mg every 1 ml, 100 times less
@@sora96outthe solution described in the video if using 1ml would equate to 2.5mg oral fin. For the study they were applying 0.2 ml. 0.25% topical fin equates to 2.5mg per 1ml , it would need to be 0.025% per ml to equate to 0.25mg

Hi doc, dk if you reply to comments but ill ask anyways, how does finasteride (oral or topical) affect muscle gain in the gym? i ask this because having lower test means it would be harder to put on muscle right? not too sure.
Hi Ata. This is a great question. Technically finasteride shouldn’t hamper muscle gain. Because it will raise Testosterone levels slightly. Testosterone is more anabolic than DHT.
@@Robkyle277 you should probably delete this if you still want to seem smart… DHT is more androgenic every clown knows that. But, Testosterone is more ANABOLIC. Ask any gym bro before you make uneducated comments.

My biggest question is does this finasteride and minoxidil effect my height? Any hormonal damage? About testosterone? I am getting headache sir. please reply.
'so I moved to topical finasteride 0.1 percentage with 5 percentage' Be extremely careful with your dosage. The dosage used in the study is 0,25%, but that is quite a bit; I use 0,01% (1-2ml a day). 'My biggest question is does this finasteride and minoxidil effect my height?' You are almost an adult, so I dont think you will grow anymore. You can't shrink from it in any case. 'Any hormonal damage? About testosterone?' Possibly, yes. If you experience side-effects, lower the dosage until you dont experience side effects anymore. Finasteride lowers DHT production, which is hormonal. You can experience erectile dysfunction, pain in scrotum, head ache, etc. I dont think it lowers your testosteron though (it might slightly increase it).

How does topical finasteride mechanism works on the hair follicles ? Since Finasteride is a 5α-reductase inhibitor , Question is are there 5α-reductase around the hair follicles which stops the DHT conversion using topical finasteride? Can someone put some light on this.
This is what always confused me that no one seems to be able to clearly answer. Some people cite that it treats hair loss right at the source, but that doesn't make sense to me. Unless the absorption is systemic, in other words, if the DHT is created elsewhere in the body then does it even matter if some of the 5AR + Testosterone conversion gets blocked at the hair follicle ?
@@fullcircle874Where does in the video speaks about how topical finasteride mechanism works on scalp? The Video is all about the "funded" case studies conducted on topical finastride vs oral. If you read my question carefully, until now no one has ever explain how topical mechanism works on the scalp. Does it really blocks DHT conversion right at the source of hair follicles? Are there 5-alpha-reductase enzymes at the hair follicles which stops the DHT conversion using topical? If the effect of topical works by systematic it doesn't matter then if you rub it on the scalp or on the butts.
@@user-kn1yg From what I read, DHT is produced in tissues like skin, prostate and only some portion is circulating in blood. Testosterone is an original component that gets converted to DHT locally in tissues. But I personally don't fully believe that this is the case in male balding pattern, because they found that only beard hair are sensitive to DHT and every other hair is not stimulated by DHT.
Hi. I'm on oral fin and minoxidil with no side effects but also contineous hair loss. I will add topical fin. So which dose to use (I don't want to stop the oral).
Unfortunately there are diminishing returns with increased Finasteride usage so adding more even in the form of topical isn't going to make that much of a difference. Maybe Dutasteride would work better for you. Or it could be that you have a different form of hair loss that isn't androgenetic alopecia which would mean Fin and Dut wouldn't do you much good either way. How long have you been on your current regimen?
@khaledmohamed-tp4wx Same for me. I've been on oral Dutasteride and oral Minoxidil for a year and still losing ground. I'm wondering if some people respond better to topical treatments.
0.25% is a ridiculous dose. You are applying 5mg of Finasteride as most people need 2ml thus 0.01% or 0.025% max for Topical Finasteride and you can even use it every other day. So 0.25mg topically EOD will reduce roughly 25% serum DHT. Quite negligible.
Lmao do some more research, don't just go and buy things after watching one video, topical isn't approved by FDA here in US, only small studies have been done. Watch Dr Linkov videos

Side note ive been on oral on and off for about 3 years. Always the side effects came and went away when discontinued. Just didn't know what about tropical being permanent
Permanent sides are extremely rare, however it probably wouldn’t matter if it’s topical or oral. They both get absorbed systemically, albeit topical a bit less depending on the amount you apply and the concentration you use. Hope this helps, and thanks for the support 🙏🏻
Don’t buy $50/month topical stuff just make sure your min already has propylene glycol and alcohol in it for proper scalp absorption otherwise it’s much less useful (most of them already do)
@@nasssty284 no problem! That’s the one I use too it’s the best quality/price, but I use Mexican finasteride bc it’s insanely cheap like 1000 mg for $15
From what I’ve researched that seems to be the right dose topically to get any hair growth benefit while drastically lowering any potential systemic absorption
Effectiveness wise, topical finasteride can't be compared with oral finasteride, considering the LONG-TERM roadmap of androgenetic alopecia. They may have similar effectiveness during for 1 year, but in the following years topical finasteride will be a trash, therefore is not long-term treatment medication.
Why don't you mention the OTHER study that discovered that it causes strokes? And by the way, topical application doesn't mean the substance won't be absorbed systemically. In fact there's a clear warning for pregnant women to not TOUCH finasteride pills because it was found that their baby could develop hypospadias and other issues.
There is no problem if it gets systemic. Side effects go away in 99% people after 4-6 weeks continued use. 80 million men use oral finasteride safely. Lowering dht won't cause any problems at all.
Hi Andrea. A pertinent question I’ll break it down . Do I think it’s normal? Clearly it isn’t “normal”. Is it safe? The data we have gathered for over 30 years use of Finasteride use suggests that it is. But at the end of the day it comes to down to an individual to make that decision. I merely try and provide data to assist this decision that should be taken with close physician consultation. Hope this helps

Here’s my question with this. With oral finasteride, it assists in preventing further hair loss in the effected areas AND the potentially future effected areas. With topical finasteride, it is applied only to the effected areas. Does that mean that the non-effected areas will still NOT have any finasteride absorption? How you apply this solution to your scalp???...1 ml from a dropper ??? Thanks
Did you faced any side effects

I totally agree with you 0.2 ml very small amount . My main problem is my crown
if i just apply the 0.2 to the crown i would get a receding hair line

This is what always confused me that no one seems to be able to clearly answer. Some people cite that it treats hair loss right at the source, but that doesn't make sense to me. Fin was backlashed by pharma for a long time. All hairless drugs barely made fda.
As much as big pharma sucks, finasteride is not one of its money makers.
When using topical finasteride, I feel perfectly normal. On oral finasteride, I felt chemically castrated!!!
@@huntergreen1988
Where did u get the topical fin at?
@@huntergreen1988 biologically we are unique so not everyone gets issues but many do and when they happen, they can be debilitating or long lasting
very informative
Effectiveness wise, topical finasteride can't be compared with oral finasteride, considering the LONG-TERM roadmap of androgenetic alopecia.
They may have similar effectiveness during for 1 year, but in the following years topical finasteride will be a trash, therefore is not long-term treatment medication.
after that you might switch to oral or ad an anti-androgen to that
how so exactly?
This could be true. Unfortunately we do not have quality long term data that I am aware of, that can prove or disprove this statement.
Why would topical fin be less effective long term vs oral? Any studies that prove that?
This statement is not backed by the science. Why would it stop working?
Why don't you mention the OTHER study that discovered that it causes strokes? And by the way, topical application doesn't mean the substance won't be absorbed systemically. In fact there's a clear warning for pregnant women to not TOUCH finasteride pills because it was found that their baby could develop hypospadias and other issues.
There is no problem if it gets systemic. Side effects go away in 99% people after 4-6 weeks continued use. 80 million men use oral finasteride safely.
Lowering dht won't cause any problems at all.
@@milenavidmar2733 Pregnant touching it once, huge problem. Man swallowing it daily, no problem. Nothing suspicious here.
What about the effects on brain 🧠
i wonder that myself especially if someone going to do it for the rest of their lives
Dht is not the root cause of hair loss. We don’t know what the root cause is yet…
We've went to the moon and back, but still can't figure out why our hair follicles self delete 😥
Can l take topical finasteride three times a week ?
thank you
So for You is it safe and normal to crush dht levels about 35%??
It's not. Don't let them lie to you. Thousands of men across the country are suffering from side effects lasting years from finasteride.
@@marshalldockery4482I’m one of them!!
Where was the part of the study that shows it lowers side effects?
....too late for me.
Why?

Its not the only medication. Dutasteride works as well and better
❤❤❤
Yea just do 0.5 oral once every other day for about 1-2 months , your body will become acclimated, then do 1mg once every other day , until you get down to 1mg everyday
@ 60 don't care if the poker aint poppin , no interest in chasing beaver , no drama , no sun burn on my head . the depression is interesting yet the world is depressing so that's a wash . would like to leave this world with a big red affro!!!
Here’s my question with this.
With oral finasteride, it assists in preventing further hair loss in the effected areas AND the potentially future effected areas.
With topical finasteride, it is applied only to the effected areas. Does that mean that the non-effected areas will still NOT have any finasteride absorption?
OR if we apply topical finasteride on the effected areas, it will automatically spread across our whole scalp when absorbed?

No one knows
@@SAMYAK688 isn’t it easy to test though? For example is it not possible to test full-scalp DHT instead of just specific areas?
If I apply minix+topical finasteride and use it on my whole scalp instead of the effected areas it’ll ruin my whole head.
There seems to be no answr online at all about this…
@@WholesaleJewelleryAustralia these things require long term placebo controlled double blind studies
Someone needs to fund these studies
Maybe in future some organization will conduct a in depth study on every aspect of topical finestride.but as of now no body knows
all topical solutions spread to the skin around, if you place it throughout your hairline and crown it will spread to the entire area where balding would affect it.
@@WholesaleJewelleryAustralia bro I'm using it from tomorrow
I have few questions pls pls help me out
1) how to use it like any head wash and apply? Once is enough or twice is for sure ??
2) any sides effects will come due to it? As like as oral. I m asking bcoz it is on scalp right not much like oral so any effects?
3) morr f5% brand i am using how long does shedding phase will be and do we look bald while shedding

"finasteride is causing sexual differentiation in the fetus". So you are claiming that the rise of transgenders in the US is due to the use of finasteride...hmm...interesting, makes sense.
