    I started this beer reviewing channel after I found myself searching out lots of craft beer breweries and enjoying amazing beers, I then decided to start the channel to share these beers with you, however I also realised people like to see beer reviews of every type of beer including beers that are available in supermarkets. so yes whilst I do review a lot of craft breweries I will review any beer. On the odd occasion I will also do food reviews.
    whilst I enjoy reviewing beers I also enjoy watching other beer reviewers and I have made some good friends in the beer review community.
    Here is a list of some other beer reviewers I like to watch (there are many more I watch).

    Good video, Chris! Have you done the regular can with pin trick and the NitroSurge like you did with the cold brew? Here in the States we dont have the NitroSurge cans (yet?), and I am curious to see how it compares to the others.
    Edit: Just saw your video where you actually do test it. My apologies! Seems like it stacks up well. Would you say its better or worse than the actual NitroSurge cans?

      Once you get used to pouring the Nitrosurge Guinness cans properly it is a really good pint, and it is a pint. Draught cans pin prick method are good, and they are much cheaper than the Nitrosurge cans. The Nitrosurge cans just nudges the win for me, I buy them but not as often as draught Guinness. More of a treat.

    if you watched the video you mentioned, then for the first part of the Nitrosurge pour you need to have the can tilted up past the horizontal, which I don't think you did - also, when comparing the prices, you have to factor in the larger size of the Nitrosurge cans, and when you compare the price per m/l then they are very close

  • @billywilson3535
    @billywilson3535 Год назад +1

    Enjoyed this review. The three different types compared is really good.
    You confirm what I thought might be the case, the gadget is nothing more than a gimmick.
    Our friends over in the Emerald Isle would be questioning the use of what they call a "new glass" for the Nitrosurge. A lot of them seem to think that it is sacrilege to drink Guinness out of them.
    The Guinness Original looked totally different in the glass, the head was a very different colour as well as the expected lack of cream.
    I wonder what the Original would be like through the gadget?
    Be lucky

      Hi Billy, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Yeah I have seen some videos about Guinness not being in the right Guinness glass, and as you say 'new glass' gets mentioned. I have been using the Nitrosurge for a long time. I much prefer the Guinness Nitrosurge than standard draught cans. It gives more of a "pub feel" with being a full pint, having the "dome" at the top of the glass and having a smooth creamy head that follows the beer down the glass. I do appreciate your views as always though :)
    Cheers Chris 🍻

    It's all down to the individual taste buds.
    I dont mind the draught cans. I've used the surger (Chinese version) with the pin trick and it improves the flavour a little mouth feel too.
    I think the Nitrosurge is much better. Its not far away from my local which does a good pint.
    Gives me a good pint experience at home 👍 from me.
    Definitely wouldn't buy the surger if you didn't drink a lot of Guinness at home.

  • @paulbyrne2893
    @paulbyrne2893 Год назад

    The point of the Nitrosurge device is to give the pint (and it is roughly a pint with the head) the same dome as in the pub. You forgot to spot that when you poured. The draught is a flat head. But totally agree the two taste very very similar (I tried them back to back on Saturday). Thankfully you didn’t try the draught with the device after the pin prick trick as that doesn’t get a dome either as there’s not enough beer in the can (538ml is the one I tried it in). But good video.

    I’d disagree with this, I find the nitro surge to be a much smoother pint as well as the ritualistic experience of the 2 part pour. I’ve done a test like this because I was trying that pin method from one of your other videos so ended up with 2 cans open. I’m not one for too many gadgets especially when all it does is slow down the time before you get to drink it but I feel that inconvenience is worth the wait. It is worth buying. The draught has a bitterness that lingers and slightly tinnier taste. The nitro doesn't. Also the head is far creamier on the nitrosurge than it is on the draught. So for me, it's a step closer to what you get in the pub and so has to be worth it, in my opinion.

    If you like Guinness and want a proper pint then I think the Nitrosurge is best, because for me the foam is finer and more like the pub and of course the size. If you want a good stout then i'd say go for something else like maybe the Brewdog Black Heart. It would be nice if you could buy a 440ml Guinness glass, I hear they did sell them but stopped, doesn't make sense since most cans are that size.
