Got the microdraught just in time for New Years as it took an extra few days to get delivered to Ireland because of customs etc…..yes, customs is also to be considered on top of the €900 price tag, you are talking closer to €1200 when you add taxes and a few cans on which is steep but let’s be fair, no one who is considering buying the microdraught is doing so because they think it is a more cost efficient way of getting the Black stuff into them, you are purely doing it for the novelty! The machine itself surprised me with its quality and pure heft! I was half expecting a shitty plastic yoke that would break the first time you have the lads over but that certainly isn’t the case. Pints are decent out of it and I would agree with the Guru they rate slightly above the nitrosurge but as I said to all the Guinness drinkers that asked me about it, stick with the nitrosurge you aren’t missing out. All in all, a solid product priced too high for what it is but that’s just the world we live in unfortunately! There will always be gobshites like me that will buy it 😂 Great video as always Guru 👍

That will be a great investment for warmer countries. A 6.3 Guinness anywhere in the world is something to tip the hat to. To have it there if the random paddy comes in would be great. Like when American's rock over to McDonalds in a foreign country.
I can't stand "The Guru Gulp"! He always says he gulps off his pints in 4 fast swigs cos people don't wanna spend ages watching him slowly sipping the pints, but it's like: "have you ever heard of video editing?"..........
Having one of these for 900 euros is cheaper than a license and running costs of beer on tap, I can certainly see the benefit of having one in a cafe like here. If I went to a local cafe and saw one of these, it would signal to me that they care about the Guiness they're trying to serve to customers.

It's beyond irony that the €25 nitrosurge device is better and a lot faster pour with a bigger head. I've said it before and I'll say it again if done correctly the nitrosurge tastes better than 90% of manky salty, bitter pub pints!!! If I was a restaurant I'd just buy a few nitrosurge devices and dish pints out like that. Like pouring 1 pint from that €900 yoke takes an eternity. Imagine 6 people at the table want a pint. Get 4 nitro devices for 100€ and away ye go.
@@johnmc3862 plenty of restaurants sell draught guinness in a can so i cant see what the difference would be to serve via a nitrosurge device. But i take your point - but it still doesnt take away from the fact that for €25 i think you have a more flexible and essentially a better device for serving a better pint. Plus, imagine a table of 6 ordering 6 pints of guinness from the micro device - the last lad would be waiting about half an hour for his pint!
That's true but remember you need different gas for guiness than larger, so this is designed for home bars where you don't want to be paying for two different gasses and two diffrent systems. Also the shelf life a guiness keg is really short so if you not able to drink 80 pints in a week or 40 pints in a week then the keg gonna go dead. These are very good mid point of a can and a tap, it's also movable, easy to take out too aparty. Agreed though it is a bit steep on the price tho

One day when this pandemic bollocks had calmed the fuck down - you should come to Japan. They have a unique way of serving Guinness. They pour it from a can in to a glass, but the can doesn't have a widget to keep it nice and frothy... so they have... I kid you not... a little Guinness brand machine that vibrates the Guinness - creating the desired head on top of the pint.
This just came up on my feed. Where have you been all my Life! I am huge Guiness fan. Liked and Subcribe immediately and will be going through the back catalog this weekend.
Can see the point of this in certain establishment's. Beach bars, hotels, cafes, places abroad ect. Seen surger units used in bars so this has to be better alternative.
Would love to see you try a home pub pint out of a Pygmy 25k or something similar. Play around with the setting and see how high of a score you can get. 😀
I had one a few weeks back in a hotel close to my local . My local closes early on a Sunday but the Guinness is fantastic there . The Bedford tavern in east Croydon. The can in the hotel I couldn't drink . Absolutely disgusting. Probably didn't help having 6 good pints before
You needa do a jewellery cleaner pint again cause you fucked it up the first time. A regular can using the pin trick then jewellery cleaner. Most cost effective and I swear by it solid 7/10 every time
Micro surger on a standard can using the pin trick imho tastes better than the jewellery cleaner method. A creamier head comes out of the micro surger.
€900 for a pint a bit better than out of a can, seems a bit steep. How much would a draught tap and pump cost? Obviously you would have to buy your Guinness by the keg, but if you're willing to throw down nearly a grand for a half decent pint, then that wouldn't be an issue 😂
I found a used kegerator for $550, filled the co2 bottle with mixed gas for $40, bought the U coupled and stout faucet for $85 a piece, and the keg of Guinness for $200. Out the door with a full keg for the same cost of this unfortunately expensive machine that only comes with 4 cans.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Just install a proper tap and buy a keg for around the same price. Even if it was a little more, it's a far better investment than this thing.

Looks more to me the glass wasn't beer clean rather than a temperature issue.
