I love most everything about the current generation Tacoma. I've had two, if it weren't for someone running at red light at roughly 50MPH, I'd still have one. But with supply issues and the pro not being available when I had to have a vehicle, I went with the 3rd Gen Tundra TRD Off road. No regrets, but adding a current generation Tacoma back to the garage ASAP. Absolutely love the way the Tacomas look, feel and drive.

I just purchased a new tundra offroad. I love it with some compliments the screen is difficult but works well once it's paired to the phone. The sensors are a little to cautious, and the no rear step is annoying. I love the Tacoma also, I just needed the extra room for the kids so Tundra took my money. Both are excellent vehicles.

To all those calling the gen 3 tacoma a slog or the engine has no power lol. For my 17 trd orsb I can tell first hand and their are easy and not to expensive fix or mods or what ever you choose to call them. Absolutely nothing wrong with the engine and or transmission, but it's the tune with them that's the issue I went with kd maxx pro tune problem solved in low end torque issues, and you actually improve mpg. Funny why toyota themselves didn't do it right the first time lol, but atleast someone else did. Another issue people complain about the seating position again another quick fix I went with some seat jackers now for me at 5'9" or 5'10" height seems to help me to feel more support with my legs especially while driving long distances. Some complain the interior is so out dated I don't think so with mine, but than again mine did come with both the upgraded tech, and tow package plus some other upgrades the previous owner had purchase for it. I bought it when it was almost 2yrs old and 13 000 miles on it I can only wonder why the previous owner got rid of it,but probably because of the two issues I both seen and felt my self. I still remember first driving it to AZ for the first time and flooring it going up hills the dang thing didn't want to go pass 50 mph. But after I took it into the dealership and they updated the firmware for the tune it fixed it kinda of but I can tell it still was lacking a bit and not allowing itself to perform at its peak performance. So of course I did what most I'm sure did and deactivated both my trac. Stability control completely by holding it down for a few longer sec. And activating my famous ect button. And yes the truck would performed much better but also at the expense of using more fuel of course. But with that new tune I don't even have to deactivate anything, and if I do use my ect at times it really makes a huge difference. Hope this info helps some of you guys out.

Understand the constraints but the courses need to be something that a sedan with some ground clearance and good tyres can’t complete.

Just started the video and I'm taking a guess. The Tacoma is the better off-roader. Wouldn't want one myself because the design of the cab is such that even I, at 5'7" have a very hard time getting in an out of it. The Tundra would be a better daily driver due to its better cabin. However, size is the factor here, and that's why my best are on the Tacoma (smaller is better when it comes to off-roading).

I don't think changing the hills crest is warranted. IF you are going to redesign natural terrain to that degree, you are no better than the manufacturers that send press launches out and just breeze through w/out a challenge because they made the course easy for their vehicle(s). I get having to create a lot of what you have to challenge things, and that is great. But the hill is a real obstacle that people will/could encounter in the real world. Thus, it sets a bar for break over angle testing. But by now, you have already done something about it I am sure and my opinion is weeks too late. lol
