I honestly love the song. Matt's voice sounds so fucking healthy, Brooks is keeping Jimmy alive and you can hear it in every section. And Syn made quite possibly one of, if not THE best solo, I've ever heard in my life. Literally cried during the solo because that whole song just made me feel like a kid again. I've been listening to these guys since City of Evil and have known ever since that it's my favorite band in the world. So many nostalgic feelings happened in the span of 5 minutes and 56 seconds of beauty.
@@timdarnell7819 Gotta disagree. I found his singing to be probably the the lowest aspect of the band through the years. And yeah I'm aware the sound was changed because he was effectively 'screaming wrong' and had to take a break from that. But his tone, his vibrato... honestly, Shadows is learning to sing better slowly and it's making an impact in how he sounds now. It's different, but melodically it's a very good thing.

I’ve been a Sevenfold fan for the last 20 years. Ever since they started their goal is to evolve and create something completely new. I have noticed since the passing of Jimmy. Their sound almost evolves with the drummer they have. I feel like Brooks had a huge part to play in this album. But it still has that Avenged feel to it. I’m pumped as always for a new album from my favorite band. It’s been too long!!
I was just saying that. The Rev was metalcore-ish. Ilejay was more 4/4 time, portnoy a fill in for nightmare. And now brooks being more technical and proggy. I for one LOVE it.

Yeah, this song is absolutely something. Maybe not something I'm going to listen to on replay or even often, but I do APPRECIATE them doing this stuff, from the artistic perspective. It's not some "we're doing random sh*t" move - it has their signature style written all over it, and it's coherent, it's a song, a musical piece, not just a number of random sounds. Always excited for their new stuff. It sounds weird at first, but slowly grows on you. Like I appreciate The Stage so much, for example -- and I didn't dig it at first at all. More so with A Little Piece of Heaven which I just thought to be a funny song, but now I honestly consider it a Bohemian Rhapsody of modern age, it's just a masterpiece.

The “segmented” thing you spoke of is exactly why they’re the best. Not many bands can do that, and NOBODY can do it like them. And the hate will come bc it’s not the “banger” single people expected, but what they don’t realize is, this album will be a story where every song leads into the next… this is just a piece of the puzzle that’s yet to come
The face you pull when the song stops and choir comes in is BRILLIANT😂😂😂😂 exactly same reaction felt like I was getting lifted upto heaven by angels 😂😂😂
This song was surprising and not at the same time. A7X is always maturing and evolving and they don’t care. And that’s what I love. I’ve been a follower and always will be because of their melodic creativity. With Synyster Gates as their lead guitarist, they will always be stepping it up to new heights.
You’re exactly right about the second listening, gets better. First time through put me on edge (bad) and had to see your reaction vid. While watching/listening, it’s better, less shocking. You know what you’re getting. Great song, great vid dude!
This song gives me goosebumps bro. It is different but it’s A7X. They’re brilliant. Shadow’s voice, the solo, the verses, the meanings. It’s absolutely perfect. I just miss The Rev…
I showed this song to my dad who has always disliked or not understood my music. He was quiet, shut his eyes, and let himself go on a journey. When it was over, he said 'Son, this band is something else...' That is a7x in this era...nothing else on earth sounds like this...haters just dont get it, how great and creative this is.
they are real artists... they have such an unique way to catch us all in a weird way with their songs... almost every single they release since 2010 I had to listen for like 2 or 3 times to really enjoy it, I simply dont understand how they always do it....
They are my favorite band! I’ve learned to trust the process with them. Give any song of their a few listens and you’ll unveil the masterpiece behind it!
This song is actually really good. M. Shadows' voice sounds so good. Not too mention the sounds and everything behind the vocals. Syn's finger tapping in the chorus is mesmerizing. I love this song.
You realize that he had medical problems when they came home from that last European tour right? He had blood blisters and stuff on his vocal cords. He probably has to chill out on his voice or he'll lose it entirely.
Bro you kept it so real!!! Everything that you experienced on your first listen is EXACTLY what I went through too!! I fell in love with the song after my second listen. I watched the video like 4 times when I discovered it! Huge fan right here bro!!
Been an a7x fan since sounding the 7th trumpet. First time I listened I HATED this song cept the solo. Now I've listened to it about 5 timed and a couple reviews. Can confirm it ABSOLUTELY gets better with every listen and I now love it. Can't wait for the album.
We been waiting for you to react to this as soon as it came out. You love the weird shit my fiance n I love. Thank you for finally picking this masterpiece apart. It's definitely a risky song for avenged sevenfold to do. But we all know they don't give to shits hail to the kings that keep putting us on on our asses.
I do like it, but my initial guess is that it will fit better as part of a whole album stream. They've been saying that this entire album all the way down to the artwork has a very specific theme behind it (based on a specific author or artist's work if I remember correctly), so I'm expecting on of those albums that is meant to be listened to all the way through in a single sitting. Albums like that have a tendency to have the singles feel a little out of place on their own. Either way, I'm excited for the full album. They've had some "less good" albums, but I'd never say any of their albums were anywhere near bad.
I absolutely love this song and the music video is so beautiful well done and the colouring and the skeletons make you think about what we're. I can't wait for the brand new A7X album 🖤🤘😊
I've listened to this probably ten times since yesterday. It gets more ingenious every time I listen. You're right too, the melody gets stuck in my head. I've never really heard much A7X so I was intrigued to start listening to more of their catalog.
Been a huge fan of A7X since the early '00s. One of my favorite things about them is how they're always progressing and changing up their style. No matter what, I can count on them to always push the envelope and create something masterful.
This is like the Stage, I didn't care for it at first but it grew on me and now I find myself listening to The Stage often. Same for this song, I hated it at first but it's grown on me so much to the point where I listen to it on repeat several times a day because I can't get it out. It's a really great song!
Great reaction, another song that I think you would really enjoy that was part of an experimental phase would be the glass prison by dream theater. I really think you would enjoy that song
This song is an absolute banger. For them to go from the hardcore metal we love to this and nail it the way it’s been done is just amazing. Can’t wait for the new album
@@scarseven7855 Nate to you it could be crap but I’ve grown up with the band and I can see what they are going for and I THINK it’s a banger. You may not think so that’s totally fine.
I resonate hard with the meaning of this song. I went through a pretty awful break up about 2 years ago from a very manipulative person, I won't go into detail as it would take too long to explain. But the dissolution of my ego and my spirit broken left me seeking higher answers, a rabbit hole I wished I'd never gone down. Once you put on those goggles it's very hard to take them off
I love their new direction. I also LOVE that they wanted a full orchestra to do the brass strings etc. Those are real violins, cellos, brass and percussion. I love their prog stuff so far
This song has been growing on me. The first time I heard it I was unsure about it and only liked the guitar parts. I love Syn's solo with how it seems to combine neoclassical and fusion jazz styles into one
im not an emotional person AT ALL but i damn near started crying when i heard Syn’s solo. im 21 and ive spent damn near my entire life listening to this band and its been so long since hearing new music. favorite guitarist ever.
Was myself a gate keeper when i was younger, but with getting older i can also appreciate new things, songs reminds me a bit of Innuendo by Queen sometimes. Really cool song!
The "I see" chorus always gets me. The whole song is so dense and layered up until that point. With guitar synths and crazy drumming, horns and synth strings. Then it cuts to just A Capella voices which feels very human to me and sort of spiritual... only to go silent and have a robotic voice say "nobody". Gives me chills honestly, and feels like a slap in the face. You went on a journey, and you were expecting a big payoff and the reward is "nobody". Feels like a great artistic statement. And that guitar solo is just insane. I recall from one older interview that they went with a "jazzier" approach for this album, and that solo sounds a lot like a jazz/fusion guitar solo to me.
I wasn’t sure about this song at first tbh. But like you said it’s grown on me a lot and I think it’s close to the the stage for me, a deep and beautiful song
420 comments I kinda dont want to write one but man!! I need to tell you how much I love your reaction!!! you make me love music. I liked it the first time I heard it but now with you reacting to it made me love it! Im just headbanging along with you! Keep up the great videos man!
I can’t stop listening to this! The first time I was like woah this is definitely different then the second an third time I could really appreciate the solos and corigraphy and the true talent of all the instruments 👌🏻🖤😍 the album is gonna be killer!! Can’t wait
Its crazy how different M Shadow's voice feels after fully healing. Like, the tone is the same but that raspy air throughout is gone. While I miss that nuance, I'm so happy to see Avenged back at it. As for the song, my first impression was a discrete mix of "WTF is this" and "Ah! There they are!" I need to listen to this a few times me feels. Happy Thursday to everyone here!
To me, the interpretation of the music video is this: A man is depressed in the world and body he lives in. So his soul travels around the earth and through history to find peace and joy. He realizes that the world is full of death and destruction and so meets the devil who then tells him he will take the man's soul to a eutopic paradise. The man agrees and lets the devil take him to this eutopic paradise in a different world. When the man arrives he realizes that this "perfect place" is actually an artificially created hell where no one else exists and everything is fake (because a perfect artificial eutopic world does not actually exists). And so the mans soul runs to the edge of this hell and jumps off into the space time continuum to then rejoin his body. The moral of the story is to be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. Be careful searching for paradise because what you think is paradise might actually be hell in the end.
The first listen on the radio for me I was like what the heck was that like you said but man the more ive listed to it the more i understand and the radio really did injustice to this song. I could barely hear shadows on the radio version but youtube it blew me away with my drivers. I am excited for june 2 considering they are still one of my top favorite bands.

This song grew on me quick, ive been listening to them since I was a kid (21 now) and I'm so happy they're back

This song gives me the stage vibes and I love it
👆Test me on Telegram you the above username I got a surprise for you🎁🎁🎉.
Same! Everyone is saying how different it is but I just think it's right on par with thr stage!

When it was over, he said 'Son, this band is something else...'
That is a7x in this era...nothing else on earth sounds like this...haters just dont get it, how great and creative this is.
they are real artists... they have such an unique way to catch us all in a weird way with their songs... almost every single they release since 2010 I had to listen for like 2 or 3 times to really enjoy it, I simply dont understand how they always do it....

To me his voice sounds shot. I'm not sure if it really is or he's just outside of his range but I can't get used to it.
You realize that he had medical problems when they came home from that last European tour right? He had blood blisters and stuff on his vocal cords. He probably has to chill out on his voice or he'll lose it entirely.
It sounds like he’s sweep-picking not tapping, but yeah, sounds friggin awesome

Dude his voice is fucked lmao
Bro you kept it so real!!! Everything that you experienced on your first listen is EXACTLY what I went through too!! I fell in love with the song after my second listen. I watched the video like 4 times when I discovered it! Huge fan right here bro!!
Been an a7x fan since sounding the 7th trumpet. First time I listened I HATED this song cept the solo. Now I've listened to it about 5 timed and a couple reviews. Can confirm it ABSOLUTELY gets better with every listen and I now love it. Can't wait for the album.
Loved this song from the first moment I heard it. M Shadows vocals, the atmosphere, and that solo from Syn to top it all off. Great job 👏

That solo is absolutely came from another world... Man, you can f**king feel the notes..... Unquestionable masterpiece.

I just heard it couple days ago, being a fan for many many years I freaking love it, and gates killed that solo!!!❤
It took me exactly 2 listens to fully appreciate just how great the song is.

I absolutely love this song and the music video is so beautiful well done and the colouring and the skeletons make you think about what we're. I can't wait for the brand new A7X album 🖤🤘😊
100% agree! 🤘🤘

This song grew on me FAST. I always trust avenged, they’ve never let me down. I love it.

Been a guitarist for 22 yrs and I love this. It 100% gets better the more times you listen to it. Started learning the solo today ❤
This solo is absurd, one of the best I've ever heard

I still love the crazy guitar and the awesome vocals. And, Alex, your intro with the pup was hysterical! He's so gorgeous!!!
This song is an absolute banger. For them to go from the hardcore metal we love to this and nail it the way it’s been done is just amazing. Can’t wait for the new album
Banger lol no
@@scarseven7855 Nate to you it could be crap but I’ve grown up with the band and I can see what they are going for and I THINK it’s a banger.

Brooks nailed the drums in this. The slow Kick/snare pattern with the rapid hats has you on edge yet relaxed at the same time.

And what exactly are they doing with it?

This song has been growing on me. The first time I heard it I was unsure about it and only liked the guitar parts. I love Syn's solo with how it seems to combine neoclassical and fusion jazz styles into one

im not an emotional person AT ALL but i damn near started crying when i heard Syn’s solo. im 21 and ive spent damn near my entire life listening to this band and its been so long since hearing new music. favorite guitarist ever.
Weird how people are acting all surprised about how it sounds. This is exactly what the entire last album sounded like.
Yeah like shit lol
Just amazing!!!!!! Can’t wait for the new album 🔥
They're my favorite band of all time
Was myself a gate keeper when i was younger, but with getting older i can also appreciate new things, songs reminds me a bit of Innuendo by Queen sometimes. Really cool song!
How old are you rn?

Been listening to them since 2009 and have been hooked since
This song really reminds me of The Stage. Definitely could’ve been on that album
Seeing A7X live for the first time in August. Can't wait to hear this live! Absolutely STOKED!
YEEEEEEAH best reaction so far! Your orgasmic face it's awesome 😂 This song is stellar, especially for the meaning, and for everything else of course
I listened to this all day yesterday. I just can't get it out of my head.

I wasn’t sure about this song at first tbh. But like you said it’s grown on me a lot and I think it’s close to the the stage for me, a deep and beautiful song

I can’t stop listening to this! The first time I was like woah this is definitely different then the second an third time I could really appreciate the solos and corigraphy and the true talent of all the instruments 👌🏻🖤😍 the album is gonna be killer!! Can’t wait
So glad to see someone reviewing this who seems genuinely excited that they're doing something new. I'm looking forward to see what they do here!
waking up with this song stuck in my head for 2 days😊
This song has definitely grown on me and gives me the goosebumps as well!
Love how much u enjoyed it!
a song that grows on you on every listen
Its crazy how different M Shadow's voice feels after fully healing. Like, the tone is the same but that raspy air throughout is gone. While I miss that nuance, I'm so happy to see Avenged back at it. As for the song, my first impression was a discrete mix of "WTF is this" and "Ah! There they are!" I need to listen to this a few times me feels. Happy Thursday to everyone here!
Love it! It sounds like industrial metal. A dark masterpiece!
To me, the interpretation of the music video is this:
A man is depressed in the world and body he lives in.
Song grows and grows on you, been in my head all day
It’s a work of art in every way. Absolutely love it and I wish more bands had the balls to try something different.

This is why you're one of the best reactors, thank you

As a long time avenged fan I can say you are spot with the real fans. We love to be like what the hell you guys doing but then we love it and see that they are an ever changing band. I love this reaction you can admit it's weird and different but you appreciate it. Hell yeah and rock on brother. Anybody can hate this or love either way we all are still talking about it and creating buzz. I think that was their goal. Love you Alex an your reactions!
Totally bad ass. I love both the music and the video graphics. I needed that!!!!
The droning guitar riff is the tick-tock of the clock of time. Tiiiick-tooooock, tiiiiiick-tooooock. It's subtle, but you can hear the clock ticking in the first 2 seconds
I saw them last Sunday in Ft. Worth and the lead song was Nobody and it was amazing live
