Electric cars have a lot of reliability issues so if they can bring their focus on reliabity to future electric cars, they will hit the goldmine once again although Hyundai has a huge future proofed head start on that front.

      I have a touring model. It's not that bad to clean. Paint sealed it ( which did take a while) but then just spray wax after every wash and bugs come off easy. Just a microfiber wash mit gets in all of those crevices. For the money, the touring is the way to go over this. The adaptive variable suspension is amazing and in sport plus, it handles just fine for real world sporty driving. No one is going to track their Avalon.

      @@maxcurry9667 Who tracks avalon? It's made for luxury, ride and passenger comfort. Driving an avalon with rough suspension and loud exhaust is like watching gay porn. It makes no sense.

    I am a Grandpa and this car is sweat. Looks great and drives very nice. This puppy will get up and go. I bought one Saturday for my wife. She is the sportiest Granny in town now. She even got a thumbs up yesterday while driving the car. My only chance to drive it was when I drove it home from the dealer. My wife will never let me behind the wheel again. Old people can be sporty too.

      Li Samuel True. Mechanically wise, 300+hp on a fwd is a bit too much imo. Especially on a open diff that this Avalon has. Definitely need a good traction control system or even better, good tires.

    God if they slapped on a turbo on it and got it closer to the 350-400 HP mark as well as making it available with AWD and managed to keep it below $50,000 it would be an awesome car. Could 100% compete and probably outsell the Kia Stinger as a full size Japanese sports sedan with public perception being Toyota a much more reliable brand.

      I never understand the craze for a lot of horsepower. Unless you're in europe how do people in america intend to use it without getting a ticket? Even the reviewers never speed for too long unless they are on a race track. This is confusing to me. I can understand if race drivers are amped about horsepower but not everyone else.

      G if you live in the states most of the route people take are the highways. If you live in the area you memorize all the spots the cops hide and floor it where you know they are not. There’s a stretch of road with no area for cops to hide on my way to work and I hit 126 mph nearly everyday.

    My same exact car and color and love it to death! The amount of compliments and looks I get is unbelievable. It does come with wireless charging also. Just slide the under tray back and its there. Everybody keeps saying the grill grill grill sounding like robots. See it in person to really determined it for yourself.

    The problem with all these Japanese cars is that the stylists hear that bigger grills are the new trend and they adopt the attitude "We WILL have the biggest grilles! " They don't seem to understand that their cars are all incredibly garish and tasteless. They are totally out of control !

      @@woahwoah2207 I definitely recommend it. I actually got mines from a dealer in my state for 41k with the JBL and NAV combo. The power is effortless in this car and the handling along is superb. Just the other day i pushed it testing it out and took a steep corner on the highway as the car was planted with no body roll or feeling of losing or sliding all over the place. I'm not a speeder or crazy driver so I let my partner drive one day as he is the one who speeds and he gotten it up to 142mph and I honestly believe it could of kept going but I was screaming for my life for him to stop lol. So again I would say yes and yes!

      Toyota's V6 will surprise you. They're sleepers. I got behind the wheel of my mother's 2016 ES350. I wasn't expecting to go that fast in a car like that. Then it purs like a kitten when you want it to. It was a huge surprise

    No, no, no... can you imagine trying to keep that grill clean? Too many plastic add-ons, piano black that will develop fine scratches almost immediately. That steering wheel - cheapo. Also seeing that Grandpa's (or Grandma's) can be in their 40s and 50s - isn't it a little ridiculous to be talking about them in such a negative way? My Dad is 72 and drives a 2019 Cadillac CTS-V w/ 640hp so they aren't all driving boring sedans.

    One good thing about the big front grill is that you won't ever have to deal with paint chips from road pebbles and dirt that it will constantly get hit by overtime. If I look at the car with that design feature in mind I actually like the huge front grill.

    I love Toyota cars, but those grills just keep me away. Toyota seems to think people are buying their cars because of the grills, I think people are buying Toyota DESPITE the grill. What's next? Wrap around grills that extend all the way back to the tail lights?!?

    6.1 0-60 is NOT FAST Bro. They built the SAME car with different body styles, and the same engine. Toyota basically built 2 of the same rental cars with different names. It does sound good, I'll give it that much

    I have seen this car in person and there is nothing “old person” about it. Sounds badass.
    This car looks badass but I will admit the grill looks better in person then in pics and video. The car is very aggressive in design and the body is very long and wide.

    I agree. Far too much grille, a fault of many toyota products recently. Can not one design a sedan these days without making it so low you cannot get in and out of it easily and can designers not think of some way to style the front without a huge grille?

    They upgrade the handling but WHERE IS THE SEAT BOLSTERING?! Doesn't matter how well your car handles if you are sliding all over the place in your chair! The exterior and exhaust are great on these TRD cars but man... the lack of attention to the interior is one of the things only Toyota can get away with...

    the Camry looks better even though I am not a fan of the front end it's not that hideous but goddamn the Avalon looks like it's f****** smiling at you what the hell were they thinking that totally ruins the proportions of that car if they would just change the bumper cover and get away from that big wide mouth bumper cover they would have a home run . and I know they had to be careful because of the Lexus brand not wanted to be too similar to their high-end car . A come-on Toyota that's the best your design team can come up with they should be fired on the spot

      Carter Davis true but the Avalon has always had a v6. Also the Lexus ES has always only had a V6 so if they put a V8 in the Avalon it kinda would kill not only the ES but also the GS with V8.

    After watching this, I realized, WE'RE way too pampered and comfortable when we notice whether or not our seats have 12 settings or felt lined glove boxes or not one roof window, but one full window for a roof.

    My wife and I had a 2003 Toyota Avalon bought about 150k miles and drove over 250k miles until the original transmission took a crap. Sold it as is and gotten a Camry after. We do miss it and had gotten us through many obstacles during its life. Seeing this Avalon even with the body and exhaust kit upgrades, does seems very intriguing. Good review! 😎👍

    The front looks awful. If you (God forbid) were to hit something - that something will end up in your engine bay right away. There is literally no bumper at the front. The design of the front is stupid.

    I don't care about the grille. Toyota is getting greedy on pricing. I'm not sure who would buy the trd Avalon. No performance upgrades for speed. Lacking features like android auto, cooled front seats, heated rear seats and the interior has hard touch plastics. The wheels look out of place and it should be faster. I do love the engine note, interior space and red seatbelts! You are one of the top auto reviewers Sofyan. Keep up the great work!

      I have a 13 Avalon black in color.... it's a high maintenance color but I love the shine

    The front needs to be redesigned. The roof needs to be black. The headlights should be the upgraded ones. And the suspension should be adjustable from the other trim.
    Really dropped the ball on this one.
    But it sounds ok!

    Usually big grills don’t bother me much, I actually like most of them, but this one is simply hideous. It doesnt even have a front bumper. I wonder where the future goes...

    Old person car stigma elimination worked because my aunts father in law has an ‘07 Avalon and wants to trade in for a newer full size sedan but doesn’t like these sporty aggressive looking new models with oversized grilles and asymmetrical interiors. He said he’s just going to keep his ‘07

    Toyota's design language has really fallen off the cliff. Too much going on in the front, weird bulges and creases. They need to take a few notes from Hyundai and Kia

    It's such a shame that the Avalon has the Grill(s) that it does, across all trims, since this generation is so nice everywhere else. This could have been such an awesome car if its just had a different front bumper.

    Target Market = late 70s babies who are now married, have too many kids, have a mid-life crisis, can't afford a sports car, hate the minivan and still need a reliable 2nd car, yet miss the golden days of 'import tuner' (but don't have time or capacity to tune their own). Damn, that's a niche within niches. Inception.
