LET ME KNOW IF THOSE LINKS STOP WORKING!!
No matter how nice you are to your cell phone... accidents happen, warranties expire, and sometimes you have to fix things yourself! Its time for the teardown video of the Sony Xperia XZ. One of the newest android phones from Sony.
Sony has done a FANTASTIC job with the XZ when it comes to screen replacements and battery replacements. Those two things are the first components to be removed from the cell phone after it has been taken apart.
The rest of the components, like the cameras and the charging port are still modular, and can be repairs, but its a little more complicated at that point. Check out the video to find out.

Cool! I have an XZ Premium that is fine except for the charging port being a bit loose and having a dodgy pin. Which I guess is quite major because the cable has to be inserted, then very, very carefully moved around until all pins get contact before it will charge. Once in the optimal position, it has to be left in that spot lest the plug lose contact and stop charging.
I have a replacement though. Not a Sony. My daughter bought me an OPPO A53s which is a very good phone considering the price.
I was advised by a repairer here in Australia that it would be "very expensive" to repair it. However, knowing enough about phone dismantling to be dangerous to myself and others, as well as having a sometimes problematic curiosity, I think I might source a replacement charging port and have a crack at fixing it. The worst I can do is break it.

Appreciate your work and time you're spending on this. It's fun to watch and also helps me to pick phones that are easier to repair or are not so fragile. It's also interesting to see how different manufacturers approach the design. Oh yeah and i would love to see Honor 8 tested and torn apart :) Spec wise it seems it's just a copy of P9, but i saw some info that it's completely different internally and much harder to repair than the P9.

You should start tearing down some other electronics as your methods are purely logical and super easy to understand rather than some lengthy confusing ones. Plus one for that!

I know it's an old phone but Xperia M4 Aqua screen broke today and it would be nice if you would do a video on how to replace the screen. It's not something that big of a thing because I can use my mom's phone until that and I will probably get a new phone too but it would be nice to get it fixed because the replacement screens don't seem to be expensive at all.
If not I can just find a tutorial that someone else made but your videos are always the best and you explain everything so well and clearly so it would be nice to see a video from you :)

I have to admire Sony that they're know Screen and Battery is what fragile components that replace the most, like 95% just for only these two major components. It help both Service Center and Customer.

Yes, the plastic parts are annoying for repairers, but could the plastic parts be used for keeping components in place and give the phone a even weight to it?

I think an "Original" series would be awesome.
Do durability and screen replacement tests for original phones of a series
Original Note (GT-N7000) is one my favourite phones and would really appreciate it

If only Sony or other companies would listen to you and their users.
I like Sony a lot, I'm a Sony lover, but I know that it has major problems.
Innovation is there, Design is almost there, waterproofing and something that just makes you love their flagship, but not like,.... you could argue all day that it is the best phone. Very strange.
Can't wait for you to do new videos on Sony Phones.
