we used to call those "sim lite" or if its even simpler "simcade". sadly we dont really get those anymore, last i played was Strike Fighters 2

@@semvision The closest thing to "sim lite" or "simcade" that's out now would be War Thunder. There are probably more, but that's the first one that comes to my mind, lol.

I don't think it has MP capability yet. Says single player on steam unless I missed that.

@@Ph.DiKrakahoathere is a multiplayer option but there are some bugs. Sometime you need to exit and re-join or can’t spawn. That’s the only game breaking issue relate to MP.
This in VR would be amazing. Doesnt look as complicated as DCS but more in-depth than games like War Thunder, something I have wanted for a long while but never found anything. Definitely excited for this game.
Yea I doesn't have VR or TrackIr support, but I can see them adding it later.... It is in VERY EARLY playtest right now.

In that case it “should” be pronounced more like new kle air since it’s basically a French loanword. Different pronunciations and dialects exist and words change over time and region. Not worth nitpicking someone over a “mispronunciation” that has made its way into common vernacular

I've been looking for a game with realistic nuclear explosions for so long.. And now that this has popped into existence really tickles my happy spot

Another one that is like this, but a totally forgotten full release game is the rebooted Comanche. If you remember that from the late 90's...
Never played it. I would say they look similar but Comanche is definitely an arcade style game. Nuclear Option has more of a flight sim to it based by how you fly the jets

This game is only a fraction complete and already makes a lot of other flight games look like trash. It has a lot of cool and simple mechanics and amazing visuals and physics. As long as the devs keep the same momentum... this game is going to be massive.

It is keyboard and mouse supported…. Also they are not complicated at all. Depends on what you’re version of complicated is

This looks like an enhance version of DCS and the destruction mechanics and destroyable objects is way better than Battlefield 2048 hands down.

Looks great, but when I heard you have to "level up" to use certain things I kinda lost interest.
I have had my fill with such arcade mechanics in Planetside 2, so I think I'm gonna stick with Star Citizen instead.
There was servers that allowed you to fly any aircraft without having to lvl up

I look at it like the next generation of fighters. Like how battlefield 2042 has weapons that look like today’s weapons being used but with just some minor adjustments in the way, it looks. It might not take place 300 years in the future, but maybe 20 years.

Looks like a fun arcade flight game... but without TrackIR support it's a pass for me. I've played with TrackIR in all flying games for so many years that I simply can't stand playing without anymore.
It's like those rare first person shooters that don't let you invert mouse y-axis. I just can't play those at all.

I look at it as 20 years in the future
This remind me of Echelon game quite a lot from 2000, the overall feeling and damage model.
Man, for a early access this looks like real games we had in the past.. polished for playing. And even though I don't like too modern displays they made it look so good by doing it react with the atmosphere colors, it's really a game changer for me.. feels artistic and something you could just play to appreciate the view. The destruction looks so goood, not perfect but really good. If they wanna do it perfect they should make you feel the crash, like be able to see the water coming in through the holes of the aircraft or fire starting to consume you.. that is something War Thunder still misses.

How did you get your HOTAS to work? I'm using an X56 Rhino and the buttons works, but not the stick input, and I can't control my throttle properly either. Me and my friend both have asked the devs in their reddit post about this game but we are yet to get an answer...
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with your Hotas. I totally understand. I would definitely reach out to them on discord, they seem to be more active on that. I would have to go back to my settings to figure it out myself. Sorry I can’t give you a better answer than that but I definitely remember it being challenging to figure out, almost like you had to clear out all of the settings and just start off fresh with your Hotas

So I finally decided to give it a shot, but it doesn't work with my VKB Gladiator sticks... The game is able to detect my sticks, I can map everything, but when I try to fly with it, the inputs don't work at all. Were you able to map your HOTAS?
I’m sorry to here that your having a hard time. I believe they said they not all HOTAS are compatible to the game yet. It’s something that they are working on for the next update.

can someone explain why he has to say 'fox2' or 'rifle' every time he fires a missile?
One of my absolutely favorite things in DCS was taking the Viggen through canyons and out to sea while flying SUPER low to fire some anti-ship missiles with basically zero interaction with enemies if you did everything right. I would love it if a game let you do something similar but without all the hassle of actually playing DCS. This looks intriguing….
