One tip for using AAM’s Because you can only use one countermeasure at once, best practice is to shoot off one radar and one IR at closer range (less than 10km) If you fire them at the same time he is gonna be under a lot of pressure to try and notch, jam, cut throttle, and flare at the same time On something as big as a dark reach it’s a guaranteed kill at closer ranges
Also, avoid firing nuclear cruise missiles over big terrain features like that mountain, they are less maneuverable than the conventional and will fly into terrain

I am pretty sure the jammers in the Darkreach and Revoker work a lot better when you are at lower altitudes. With the Darkreach, I personally like using the AGM-68s to over saturate the air defense and then fire off the Nuclear cruise missiles.

It's a sim-lite, meaning there are sim-like features but it's simplified so you don't need to be a fighter pilot to have fun. Don't know about missile effectiveness with altitude, but your plane can definitely stall, you can rip your gear off if you're going too fast and it's still down...
I don't really have plans to make a server again, the sheer size of ECW has sort of exhausted me on the idea. With that said, Nuclear Option's default game mode is already really good. I think dedicated server support is coming to the game at some point
The population goes to and from as patches come out. You have to remember that this game is still being actively built out. The game is still very playable with just a handful of people in a server. There is a big patch coming and when patches drop is when teh flood begins again. I would def say its a safe buy in the long run as the developers are putting a ton of new stuff in constantly.

It is a very fun game, but it definitely needs to be balanced. The current meta right now is to fly a FS-12 below 10m because the radar guided missiles can’t hit you and there is not enough SPAAG to stop anything. Then you can drop it like a dumb bomb even though it is supposed to be an air burst nuke. It should only work around 100m in the air but I think it is a bug. People can literally skip all the air defenses as long as you are below 10m. It is so dumb. It is still an early access game, but that is my number one complaint about it.
Last update this was able to happen easily but this update even for me is challenging to pull off a nuclear lay down on a base that hasn't been defanged
@@Justa_Normal_Gamer I think they need to add a ground version of the Medusa. If they have like a ground vehicle or ship with a giant laser on it then I think that would fix the problem. It would be a pretty easy add
In DCS it's "just Notch it bro" In War Thunder it's the same "fly low and you're invincible." They are intentional design choices to make evasion easier in an unrealistic way to encourage close in, low-level dogfights. Would it even be possible to attack if those infinite ammo SAMs could track at any altitude and shoot down all standoff weapons.

Interesting gameplay and the graphics look okay, not bad. Strange how they’re trying to make the use of nuclear weapons okay and normal. People who didn’t drown up during the Cold War and the threat of these weapons don’t have a clue how terrifying they really are. That aside it looks like some fun.

the +/- 3 s is VERY variable with altitude and speed, sometimes you can drop at 40+ seconds until optimal.

This does not really include ARADS, fire them within 20-30°.
Another tip for the AAMs, launch the Scythe at about 20-15km and the S3 at ~5, S1 ~3

I don't really have plans to make a server again, the sheer size of ECW has sort of exhausted me on the idea.
With that said, Nuclear Option's default game mode is already really good. I think dedicated server support is coming to the game at some point

Just update your trackir. Most games are so old that trackir already has them, for NO you just need to update TrackIR by patching it.

you can ban 1.5kt nuclear bombs from the compass and revoker to prevent this strategy
next update will fix this because nukes are going to be a limited resource, in a later update everything will be (sort of like falcon BMS i imagine)
