The first time my friend introduced me to this game I was flying the cricket because I suck at flying and someone dropped a nuke a few km in front of me and I had one of those clone wars moments trying to out run the shockwave in a prop plane, I did not succeed
My current experience with this game: I bought a neat game with nukes. Played a few tutorials. Joined a lobby. Immediately got nuked by a pilot with the name Peacekeeper4Life. 10/10 game, exactly as advertised.
And with a chance of Archangel going for a carpetbombing or gunning something down with an engine on fire while you waste your missiles trying to hit it.

Bro you get real, it's like the back of the case, book summary, type shit. If you ain't gonna bother to read the available info you can't get after him for not giving it to you
To Rimmy When you fly Darkreach and have ALM-C450 cruise missiles, don't fly too high. You can drop the payload in low altitude (not too low), the missiles itself will corrected itself when notice different terrains like mountains. Btw, you should go to third person view because the bomb bay looks absolutely *GLORIOUS* when dropping the payload.
@sharkk127 Bro, How are you here? I thought you were over at ProfIncognito's Channel! Before you say anything, Just know that I'm basically Everywhere.... Anime and Gaming, Stormworks, Minecraft, ArmA 3, DCS, GTA V and even NoPixel 4.0 Public Server.
Flying a helicopter in this game after arcades feels like storming a WW1 trench. You skim the land at 2 meters of altitude praying for a hill or something, only for a plane to dump 9000 radar missiles on you. You can launch an IR missile back, but you get only two of the good ones so you have to make it count. So you dodge and weave, and hide, and turn into ninja. Then finally you reach the enemy AA or flank the tank column and burn everything. So frikn good.
The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't, by subtracting where it is, from where it isn't, or where it isn't, from where it is, whichever is greater, it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance sub-system uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is, to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position where it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event of the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has required a variation. The variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too, may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computance scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is, however it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be, from where it wasn't, or vice versa, by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was.
1:00 Ah yes, using the jammer to evade an optical missile. Great to see a larger RUclipsr covering this game! Edit: 7:59 The reason your second nuke flew way over the Shard is because you actually fired it at the incoming missile. Just thought that was funny.
You can't dazzle opticals in this game, and it doesn't really matter because they don't lead you. In this specific case, the optical actually got shot down by a SAM.
I've been listening to the Kings music video where the uploader put Crimson 1s dialogue over it and that "You, solely, are responsible for this." really got me.
13:18 - I 'member watching this strike from Warpugss PoV, if I recall right he was doing Helo rescues of the downed pilots and uh, was in a very spicy spot when that massive air attack landed home.
Been playing this a bunch recently too, its amazing! with that very first scene, you can select missiles with both a binding to select whatever your hmd is looking at or you can go on the map and use the same binding to select whatever's under your mouse. That's why I've been doing atleast. Also when it comes to throwing nukes, if you flood the airspace with several other dumb bombs (like the ifrit's 250lbs, which it can carry like 20 at a time) then you can quickly overwhelm whatever AA they have. Otherwise I often focus on taking down AA with guided missiles before coming back with nukes.

This game is legitimately one of the best games I've played in a long time. It is excellent and I'm glad you're bringing some high profile attention to it.
Damn I've been looking for a game like this for YEARS. Hits that perfect spot right between simulator and fun video game - good flight physics, SAMs and triple A that are actually scary, BVR fights, weapon management, and yet it's all happening on a small map with respawn or rearm times being short enough that you never get bored. The coop/pvp sandbox that is the "Escalation" mode is incredible, methodically capturing a forward airbase by clearing out the anti-air and then the tanks and apcs, so your own ground forces can move in, all the while trying to keep the skies clear. There's nothing quite like being in the middle of attacking a base when you suddenly get an active radar lock and you notice the enemy fighter coming straight at you. And of course, once you can clear out or spoof the anti-air on a main base, the strategic nukes are VERY satisfying This game came out a year ago and it somehow flew under my radar (haha, pun intended) until I saw this video, thank you Rimmy. The fact that the game is already this fun while still being in early access is amazing, I'm very excited for where it will go in the future!
Been playing this enough to have a nuke go off at JUST the right distance to separate the engines from their housing and give me thrust vectoring on my compass, which then allowed me to dogfight like a madman for a few minutes before having my gun ripped off by another nuke going off at JUST the right distance, made it home with two out of three gear, and no nose but the thrust vectoring helped me flare a slow and soft landing.......12/10.....will be playing for the rest of my life.
2:11 when doing nuclear bombing runs against positions defended by AA, dive into the ground with the FS-12 Revoker and wait until the last moment to release while using countermeasures on missiles on the way down. The FS-12 shares the IRL F-15's abiltiy to simply turn into a rocket, as they both have a TWR above 1.
OOH, nuclear option is so fun! I'm hoping for some more singleplayer scenarios (hopefully a campaign or smth in the future) but the game's already tons of fun! It feels like the perfect sim-lite, quick enough to play that you can jump in a match or do a mission for 10 mins, but detailed enough that you can use realistic-ish tactics and win. Btw, about the ARH missiles, they're basically active radar guided, so unlike SARH, where you can notch the missile (fly perpendicular to the emission source, aka the plane's radar), you can only notch them in their terminal phase, when they turn on the onboard radar. This is because ARH are basically constantly being guided by ALL the radars with a lock on you (F-35 says what), so you can't really shake them unless you're jamming everyone, or you're hiding from everyone. Only option is to fly below 20m (that's minimum radar range), shoot down the missile yourself, or wait until the missile gets close then jam and notch it. They're a pain if they get launched close. Also remember that all radar missiles have a 2 second window where they can re-lock, so even if you shake it it might come back and disintegrate you if you haven't waited for long enough.
You can shoot down enemy AAMs using laser on Medusa, you have to be close though. Also you can jam them with jamming pods as well iirc. And unironically one the most cost effective weapons in the game are Lynchpins. Though it can be hard to get into 5km range with them, but anything other than carrier and buildings can be destroyed with them.
tip for avoiding radar missiles (SARH and ARH): Keep your capacitor charge high. the more charge you got, the stronger the jamming, so the easier it is to notch or to get below the radar
ARH means active radar homing, which means the missile itself has a radar it is using to lock you, where as SARH is semi active radar homing, meaning there is a plane or radar site guiding it with a radar lock
btw since the recording of this video, they added a new aircraft (basically a mix of a chinook and an osprey), and they overhauled the targeting system so you actually know when to fire there's also a steam workshop with liveries, and theres a lot of them for project wingman and ace combat

Hey, if you want the trick on how to defeat an ARH. Hit the notch (follow yellow dotted line) and wait for the missile to reach terminal guidance (the warning tone will change and get more urgent) once it’s in terminal guidance you just use your radar jammer while hitting the notch and you will defeat an ARH every time.
