    Also, you're videos are the best on RUclips. I have both bought vechiles and decided not to buy vechiles based on the reviews you have provided. At the end of the day, hobby shops don't typically let you test drive these things before you buy them. If you buy one, and don't like it you are gonna be stuck and will have thrown away $500 to $1,000K+ of your hard earned monies. Comprehensive and most importantly, unbiased detailed reviews such as you provide are a tremendous service to the RC community. These manufacturers need to be paying most attention to people like you who know their stuff and who have a ton of influence over the ultimate success or failure of their product.

    It's essentially what I figured, which is it was going to be terrible handling which is more forgivable on a monster truck but a short course not so great. The more I see of this, I've lost what little interest i had in it.
    And that's before taking all the other stuff into account, such as typical needed upgrades on Traxxas cars, i.e. esc, drive shafts, servo and now wheels. so from 700 to probably 1000 on this rc, no thanks. Thank you for the honesty at the end and not shilling for Traxxas.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  6 месяцев назад +5

      Yeah if it existed in a vacuum it would be a lot more compelling but between its price how it runs and the competition I'm struggling to make a case for it. Maybe 25% more power will fix it :-)

      @@stevefrench3564 did you mean to reply this to someone else? No one said anything about its durability. But short course is another animal, I own a Maxx, and I had to upgrade the shafts, the servo is weak and slow, Traxxas escs are trash also the stupid battery box that only fits their lipos. Do I need to go on? Proprietary wheel hexes it all adds up. Just because YOU haven't broken anything or were happy having it stock doesn't make any other opinions not valid.

      @@fgarcia2277Always speaking facts my friend! Couldn't agree more!! Very well said! The diehard traxxas fanboys will trumpet how durable it is yet they fail to realize the mojave 6s/4s are tanks and every bit as durable and id even guess more durable. But even if that was a wash the mojave is inarguably the much better value and better handling truck without a doubt from that I seen. They literally threw Maxx shocks on it on a flat Maxx chassis and mostly Maxx parts so it really didn't stand a chance imo. 🍻

    Exactly what I was concerned about.... Maxx platform, Maxx Handling like a brick so no surprise.... Senton, Mojave 4s and 6s handling is far superior from what I can see. With the Maxx platform design language... Guess you can have too much of a good thing. Traxxas comes up with the Xmaxx years ago, Maxx follows that design language, and now the XTR, Maxx Slash etc.... Looking like there a one trick pony?
    Don't get me wrong, xmaxx one of my favorite rigs, and if I want a super durable RC for the Skatepark I go Maxx, but all my Arrma's handle better, and Corally😍.
    Mojave 4s FTW.
    You see what Rich did to his.... That thing drives amazing... Course it's Duperbash behind the controller so that helps.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah the 4s Mojave is hard to beat for the price. I had the exact same fears with this truck being on the Max platform. I hoped that they could squash out the max handling but I think whatever they were able to tune out kind of creeps back in based on the inherent disadvantages of the short course truck style.

    One of the reasons i like arrma so much better is because of how they give us options like the exb roller and rtr versions. Had this come in a roller version for like $499 i might be interested. I just don't see the fascination with this. A 6s mojave is soo much better of an option. Its super tough, handles great and is cheaper. Heck the 4s mojave is even a much better option considering the value for money. Typical traxxas where they could care less about giving their die hard fans any sort of value or deal and thats why i refuse to give them my hard earned money. I'll give it to any company but them tbh

    • @DoRC

  • @Krapper515
    @Krapper515 6 месяцев назад +5

    You nailed it with this vid dude.
    Everyone seems to be comparing this thing to the Arrma Mojaves and honestly, as the owner of both Mojaves, watching these videos, I'm not impressed. Yeah, it's Maxx tough, but that's about it. The 4S Mojave is just as tough, almost as fast, handles WAY better, and costs $200 less. I don't see a reason for anyone to buy this truck unless they're a mindless fanboy.
    And as for the 6S Mojave, I think the Maxx Slash is absolutely tougher, but that's about it..
    It also looks like it's quite the hassle to work on as well.. another reason the Mojave 4S is so great is it's so easy and simple to work with.
    Idk man. I was really excited about this truck but it just seems disappointing

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  6 месяцев назад +4

      I'm not sure I would go so far as to say disappointing but I think underwhelming is a good way to describe it. It's cool but at least in my experience it doesn't do anything that the mojave's don't and it costs more.

      Honestly I'm not entirely certain what the problem is. I do know that the max has a very similar feel to it and I think it's a fundamental design problem. I would definitely buy the sledge, e-revo 2.0, XRT and UDR, but everything else just doesn't even seem to be worth the price tag. Even the e-revo 2.0 is something more of "I want to buy it because of the unique experience" and not because of its durability. Traxxas should really step up their game if they don't want to swallowed by other competitors in the next 10 years or so.

Why not use the better servo they sell? I dont see how that is a shock extender it looks like it takes away travel. • @DoRC
      @DoRC  5 месяцев назад +2

      The Max chassis slap is pretty severe though it also is very loud just dude the way the body hits the chassis and acts like a microphone when it hits the ground. You can use VG racing springs and a little bit thicker oil though you run into handling issues if you go too crazy with that. Ultimately though all RCs chassis slap the max is just really loud

    Can you turn it into a 1/10th 6s XRT 🤔. In my opinion Traxxas vehicles are for beginners. They definitely can take a beating. Arrma vehicles are for the more experienced RC enthusiast. They're definitely more performance orientated but are a little more fragile, if you don't know what you're doing. Just my opinion. That being said I own several traxxas vehicles and only a few arrmas. I get a different feeling when I drive my Arrmas, more alert & conscientious about what I'm doing. When I drive my Traxxas I want to see how much abuse it'll take.🤷

    Does it drive smoothly like the Maxx? One of the great things about the Maxx and the 6s Mojave for that matter is that they drive smoothly at all speeds. The Sledge on the other hand is not smooth and if this does all the same surging and cogging that the Sledge and 3s Slash does then this won't be the vechile for me. I like to rip them but sometimes I like to take them on a long walk where there is alot of mixed driving. The sledge and Slash don't handle those types of driving situations well, they only handle full throttle applications. There would be no chance of me spending $700 and then another $400 to $500 to put in a brushless sensored system so this is why I am asking.

    It's definitely killing the Mojave 4s! But! The Mojave 6s exb is yet to be seen!

      I have a hard time agreeing with that. The Mojave 4S is a little bit smaller, similarly featured, hundreds of dollars cheaper and in my experience handles better.

      Exactly how did it kill the 4s Mojave? I have both 4 and 6s Mojaves and nothing in this video made me want this truck. If anything it made me appreciate how well both handle rough terrain and jump so well. It's OK to prefer a brand and even convince yourself something is better but you gotta have facts to convince anyone else.
