Enabling Memory in an ASUS bios (enabling RAM/DDR4)

Here's another quick tutorial video for enabling your DDR4 memory sticks in a ASUS bios. Most of this stuff is for those using an ASUS bios but the principals will apply for other motherboards as well.
I have a kit of GSkillz 32 gig (2x16) 3600MHz DDR4 memory. *NOTE: The ''FCLK' value in your bios should reflect a value of 1/2 the DDR4 memory value. So, in my case: 1/2 of 3600MHz = 1800MHz. So 1800MHz is the value I would enter into the 'FCLK' setting.

This method has fixed my problem till this day. I was very depressed at first seeing that my PC didn't reset, stay on and showed no display. I removed my GPU, switched out ram, remove and installed my SSD, and even changed through multiple wires. Then the last thing that popped out of my head was....the motherboard battery. Once I removed it, clean it with a tad bit of alcohol and clicked it back on, I finally got my display back. After I fixed that issue, I did some research and found this video. Thank you very much man, stay safe out there.

Thank you sir! Bought two more sticks of Corsair Vengeance yesterday and had issues gaming; even going to the lengths of installing windows fresh on my system. After a clean boot I still had issues with my games either not loading or poor performance and this fixed my issues!

When i go back to EZ mode, it shows 3800 for some reason, when i put it to 3600

I don't know exactly but my pc wasn't starting too almost 5 hours later(with trying many many methods) found the real issue! Bios is not updated! After updated Bios, OClocking RAM worked very well! Now my Ram are real beast! My suggestion to overclocking with little changes not directly to max level😉

Thanks for explaining that the mhz for the ram you select is 1/2 of the ram speed you set.
I did not know to do this and when I did not do this going from 3000 ram to 3200 speed the bios would always reset to default.

Worked for me, I always had an issue where if I set docp and rebooted, I would have to reset the CMOS because the computer would not boot past the dram phase of post (my mobo has lights indicating steps in post and it got stuck at the first one labeled dram). This worked instantly though, setting docp as default and changing the flck to 1600 for my 3200mhz ram now it works. Great video

Same here I thought just change that thing to 3200 and that was it but it was still showing default ram speed and that was because I didn't change the FCLK definitely worked and a huge improvement
My Bios didn't have that setting, but I'm now running on 1600Mhz instead of 1133. I am still on DDr3 😅

So weird, I followed your steps and its showing all setup correctly like DOCP but in non-advanced mode its showing 2133mhz.

@@noblewarbear2490 No I haven't and it eventually fixed itself. But I'm back here again because my PC crashed and now it's back to 2133.
I went back into the BIOS and just flipped DOCP off and back on again and did the same with the other settings. Without saving........went to save and reset and it says "no changes were made". When it came back it's back to 3600......some weird bug I guess.

Im assuming u do know the speed of ur ram. But just to make sure, u do have ram that is faster than 2133mhz correct? Im not trying to make you sound dumb. Just better safe than sorry

That's awesome, I was having stability issue because all we did was flip it to 3600 and after saving it had no post. Would have to reset CMOS, and repeat. We just stopped at 3200. I'll try this again when I have more courage, but I clearly see I did this wrong.
it just cause the motherboard doesn't support that speed brodie, was it a prebuild ?

tried doing this, didnt have an FCLK, my computer wouldn't turn on 2/3 times and I managed to get it back on.

OMG thank you so much. I had DOCP enabled, and it showed 3600mhz, but computer was super slow to open any windows or to download anything. I couldnt figure out what i did wrong.... changer the FCLK from auto to 1800 and it cured everything. Thank you so much!

Is my RAM too old or just doesn't support this? I don't have this "AI Overclock tuner" option in my BIOS? I have the same motherboard, and I'm certain im in the same directory.

I don't have D.O.C.P. but that doesn't matter when I have XMP 1 and XMP 2
When I turn on XMP it does not run the supported speed of my RAM. Should I just put it in manually?
Hi and thanks for the video. Sadly it didnt work out for me, using the Asus TUF Gaming 550 Plus. My 4 memory sticks were shown as 2133 MHz. After setting D.O.C.P. active it was automatically shown as running on 3597 MHz. It set the FCLK, just as you did, to 1800. When returning to EZ Mode, I was shown the memory as running on 2133 again. Below the listet sticks and their details it says D.O.C.P. 3600 MHz. Can you help me with the issue, please?
You have to save and reset first. WHen you changed to DOCP exit the BIOS by clicking on EXIT and Save and reset.
i have the same issue, i have the b-550 pro and have tried with 2x8gb 3600mhz d.o.c.p and 4x8 3600mxh d.o.c.p and it crashes every time, and its the corsiar vengance.

I have the same issue.. mine work at 3200mhz but show in buos 2133 and 2166 i think.

Everytime I change my memory to 3600mhz like it is advertised. Save and exit, it would boot in to save mode and I would have to press F1 to change it back. Do you have any suggestions
Same thing for me but my max is 3200
@@scotty6892 I was able to set it to 3600mhz. By reseat the rams. I seat It in the 2nd and 4th slot.

On my bios it’s missing the FCLK frequency. I already had updated the bios before but yeah that’s ones not on there. I’m using a 12th gen intel cpu

Can you help pls. The CPU oltage doesn't change, I set it manual 1.15V but it still remains 1.460V.

Sorry to disturb but i am really in a tensed situation. Gig is tuf gaming plus mb 5900x bios is 2607 ram 4 by 16 gb g skill f4 3600c16q 64gvkc the issue is when I try to enable the docp profile 1 via bios and save it does not power on then i do cmos reset i also tried to manually put profile in ai tweaker where i put 3600 and fclk to 1800 still no help
Should i try to change dram i have not done the same. Bios detect the ram as 3700 but no idea why doesn't change the profile though . need some help

Just used to refresh my ROG Crosshair VII RAM, as my memory is 3600mhz but running at lower frequency.

I can’t see docp :( only see ximp 1 and 2 also when I put 3600 it turns off multiple time and when it’s starts back it goes back at 2133 but my ram is 32gb 3600speed . I’m so confused . I tried using ximp 2 and when I lunch cyberpunk it freeze my screen and I have to restart my pc fully

So you are not "enabling RAM", you are just applying de XMP/DOCP profile of the module on the BIOS.

did you save and reset? you need to save and reset before exiting otherwise it won't change.

my ram is 2666mhz and it set to 2666mhz in my bios but in task manager and the cpu-z it only reads 1333.2mhz
