    Very cool Mark and definitely a good idea adding that swivel. On my drop away loop I connect it via a treble swivel and I've never had a tangle

    I tried your peg mechanism and modified it. I drilled a hole in the end of each end of the "leg" part of the peg and threaded the line through the holes. I threaded the ends of the lines through a loose cable tie before tying them to the phantom. When you pull on the line, the tension on the peg legs actually opens the peg.

      Cheers Tony. Yeah having good success with this release. I now prefer using it over my previous method with a forward facing hook on the drone. Definitely more productive than casting as you can get past those breakers where the bigger fish hang around :)

    They sell release clips for fishing with kites.

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  3 дня назад

      Yeah these work as well. They are basically just a fancy version of clothes peg with the added price tag. It's cheaper to buy them from Temu. They are called Down rigger clips and are adjustable tension clips. Used in exactly the same way as the clothes peg.

    Hey mate, how far can you safely fly out with the phantom 3?

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  Год назад

      Hey, the phantom has a reliable range of about 500m. I usually take it out to 400m max. Often only 300m as I find that's enough distance. Depending on the beach of course.

    • @bushmanphotos
      @bushmanphotos Год назад

      get 1km usually before signal drops out but usually drop a bait at 300m

    Just wante dto ask what is the biggest piece of bait that you have used on the drone.with out it giving any issues

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  Год назад +1

      I haven't tested the limit. I usually use two baits, each the size of roughly half a pilchard and mostly a 3 - 4oz sinker. I guess that's about 150 - 200 gram in weight. But you could probably double the weight for this drone and use 5 baits instead of 2 baits. I would try and stay under 500g total weight for the sinker and bait to avoid too much strain on the motors. If you want to fly out one big piece of bait ( as shark bait for example), I would weight it and make sure it's not much more than 500g or give it a test on dry land first.
