    I am delighted to see that you practice "catch and release". Sharks suffer enough persecution from others fishing for the fins only for the "soup". I am a long-time diver and find them the most beautiful and graceful animal one can find underwater.
    Thank you for your recognition of this species that has existed for over 200,000,000 years, that are being wiped out for soup!

      clive carlin We do our best to help where we can, the rig used was designed for shark safety, it makes sure that should you break off he can swim off with as small a piece of tackle attached to him as possible, no long lines that can snag and drown them, so even this piece would have time to rust and fall off leaving him unharmed. We hope that anglers targeting sharks will adopt it.

    He is pulling the bait out via the reel. All the drone did was drop the anchor leads out. Then through the sliding ring he retrieves line till he feels the lead stop him a little and boom bait is out there. Re - watch the video you will see a solid ring holding the cable on the main line. It's a sliding Carolina rig.

    I could see beach charter fishing being a really big thing, or hobby...
    for example theres a plae in purto rico 500yards off the beach, is few hundered feet of water or thousands of feet near by, anybetween that and there this reef and reef fish, rigs and bait catching areas ( you can do from the beach with a drone), then theres the deep water and rigs, from the beach you could litterly catch swordfish,marlin, whahoo and other things.. just setting up the plan, that deep water never runs out of fish or money

    I have used sliders such as this on the South African coast quite frequently whilst tagging sharks for the Natal sharks board, without a drone. You simply cast a 10oz grapnell sinker as far as you can, and then anchor the weight so that it doesn't move. The bait is clipped onto the line with your slider and you then shake the rod in an upward and downward motion which propells the bait out, until it reaches the ring that stops it from getting to the sinker. My question is, why do you not use the shaking method as you will then be able to deposit your bait at around 300 meters with a bit of effort? With reeling it in as in your technique, you don't actually need the drone to get to about 100 - 130 meters, if you get a decent cast in and shake the bait out? Cool video though..

    • @gannet-dronefishing2295
      @gannet-dronefishing2295  4 года назад +1

      S.O.T. Sapper sliding only works on mono and the bait does not always make it all the way down to the lead, especially not big baits. Since the advent of drones we have also learnt that fish is often found between 300-500m out and in some places as far as 700m out, well beyond any casting distance. The pulley rig enables us to take very big baits (>10kg) to well over 300m and we are sure the bait gets to lead every time, that if it does not get taken on the way out.

      doesn't work with braid is the main reason. Mono gives too much current resistance once you get out 300 metres plus and the grapnel tends to drag.

    • @gannet-dronefishing2295
      @gannet-dronefishing2295  2 года назад

      2lbs is about the max a Phantom 4 can do. If yours can not lift 2 lbs there is possibly something wrong most probably the battery not delivering enough power fast enough.
      A P4 should be able to lift about 3lbs, but 2lbs is the max it can fly with, that limited power is the reason why we developed the pulley rig that you can use.
      If you only after sharks and want big baits then rather look at the Gannet 2Max or Gannet Black that can fly with 11 lbs.

    Hi Mate! What a great fishing video you got. Im gonna try this drone fishing soon for sharks. The only concern is what if the bait snags when it travels towards the sinker? Is it possible to use balloon? Or do you have other suggestion for that? Thank you very much

    • @gannet-dronefishing2295
      @gannet-dronefishing2295  5 лет назад

      Hello, depends where you fish, you can always add a small float to the bait to make it slightly positively buoyant.
      Yes we use balloons to but dragging them through the water is hard and it will take a long time to get the bait out to the pulley.
      See our other videos on our channel how we use them.

    • @enrioray2615
      @enrioray2615 5 лет назад

      Gannet - Drone Fishing thanks for the reply! But if im gonna fish for sharks, will the small float be able to lift the bait a little bit even though it is tied to a 250pounds wire trace? What kind of float if i may know. Thanks

    • @gannet-dronefishing2295
      @gannet-dronefishing2295  5 лет назад

      Enrio Ray that depends on your overall bait, how buoyant it is, it may need just a piece of cork inside it or it may need some other fishing float on the line. You don’t want too much as it will lift the leads off the bottom once close to them.

    • @enrioray2615
      @enrioray2615 5 лет назад +1

      Gannet - Drone Fishing ahh i see. The bait that i will use will probably be around 500-700grams. I will hve a think on ur idea of putting cork or some kind of buoyant inside the bait. Thanks dude

    • @gannet-dronefishing2295
      @gannet-dronefishing2295  5 лет назад

      Enrio Ray 700g you can fly out direct, don’t need a pulley. See our other videos on our channel of how we simply fly the baits out.

      Then just switch the lights and it will drop.

    Não presta pra pescar. A bateria do drone só dura de 20 a 25 minutos, eu prefiro meu canhao de chumbada, pois eu consigo arremessar de 200 a 300 metros de linha pra dentro do mar e é só carregar de ar de novo e está pronto para outro arremesso.

    Massive shark baits? I take out 10+lbs sting Ray for bait. This is small shark bait.
    On a side note, this is the oddest method of shark fishing I've ever seen. It's like a slide line (pulley rig) off a pier but dragging the bait on ther bottom instead. Pretty ingenious really.

  • @MrDigger450

    Why don’t you just fly the bait out and drop it at 300m cheers

    • @gannet-dronefishing2295
      @gannet-dronefishing2295  4 года назад

      MrDigger450 because a phantom cant drop a 2kg bait, and even monster drones have limits too low for guys that want to take out a 15kg bait.

      This is to get a big bait out on a small drone.
      If you want a big bait out in a single drop then look at the Gannet Pro drones that can fly upto 3,5kg of bait all at once.
