    I bought this camera the day it was released, and I haven’t regretted it. It’s the best photographic tool I have ever owned, and I have have been a keen photographer since the age of 7 - that’s 60 years ago. I just miss the crop modes, especially XPAN, that the X1D had.

    • @ddoleiden

      I assume you’re already aware, but crop modes have been brought to the X2D via software update. Best wishes with your new camera.

    I have owned one for a couple months now. It's amazing, both on the street and in the studio. It is fully compatible with the Nikon flash system-I have the Godox-N units. It's easy to overlook that it is smaller than most DSLRs. I use my Zeiss M lenses and Nikon F glass with inexpensive adaptors-great for street and landscape-in electronic shutter mode. I keep a good camera forever. Still use the L-M9, and N D700-and Rollie 6x6. This is in the same category of investment.

    Great review. Seems like an amazing tool to have but not sure the cost/benefit ratio is there in the current marketplace. I gently disagree with Nathaniel saying the camera would, on set, give you extra credibility. Most of my commercial clients pay absolutely no attention to the gear I bring to set. They don't care how I make an image as long as it fills the need of the day. I shoot mainly Canon R5 but at this one agency studio I go to sometimes they have Fuji GFX 100 which I have grown love. When shooting for this ad agency with the GFX 100 one great thing, like the XD2, is the sensor size. Often we have multiple crops for a set and now with these large files we can often pull two or three crops from the same image rather than recomposing since the file size is so big it allows cropping with no loss of detail.

    I love mine. The gradation of color and light is amazing, the color itself is just great and the subtle detail is wonderful. There are firmware items it does not have. What it does have is the ability to create amazing pictures. So why do you buy a camera?

    7:46 [out of curiosity]
    I would love [on day] for an INFORMED tech review to talk in detail about what goes into the cost of items. Most people judge the cost without looking at the full picture.
    For example, to use Hasselblad:
    how much are the people making the cameras making?
    How much do they have to pay for the facility to manufacture in Sweden?
    How much to maintain their retail stores [including the employees in those store]?
    etc. - business overhead.
    My point is, people love to devalue something just because you may not be able to afford it. Completely disregarding the overhead.
    I'm not interested in an uninformed or cynical/biased opinions. I want actually research.
    All too often we just say something is expensive with total disregard to the full picture when it relates to expensive items, or things we can't afford.
    I know some of the cost goes into the name, but that's not all the cost represents.
    Not everything is meant for the masses.

    I am about to buy in with Hassy but would like your opinion. I have seen many photos posted in thier FaceBook with blurry eyes. Missed focus on the face. I want to do portrait’s similar to modeling or boudoir and am worried that I will miss the shot focus wise but also speed wise. 3 frames per second may or may not suffice but the update does allow focus bracketing. Any thoughts from anyone would be much appreciated.

    • @telemaq76
      @telemaq76 Год назад +2

      that s the problem of this systme, you can take the most beautiful shot possble but you ll miss a lot of them. I love my x1d but i prefer my canon system to do portrait or moving subject. you can take portrait shot , boudoir shot with x1d but it ll be very academic with idle moving. But if you like to shoot fast with moving model, you ll miss focus almost every time

    All they have to do is make one 200 megapixel camera that has the best of everything for best photography and a full best quality built in memory system and lense and filter and battery lineup available at the same time and not leave anything important out... except for video... they can just concentrate on a waterproof stills camera... and have it so you can adapt other lenses to it. They should also have a fully monochrome camera built that way too. They could do it if they wanted to. Might have to sell your house to buy it... in my dream world.

      I guess the differences are marginal (lens quality differences) or huge (ergonomics, EVF, Sync Speed…) depending on how you look at it. The GFX is an amazing camera and I had a hard time choosing between the two. I finally decided that I did not need the zoom lenses offered by Fuji and having smaller hands the X2D is better to hold for me.

      @novashx Год назад +2

      @@SomeDudeSomewhere it's assumed this shares the same senor as the gfx by many so it's great that the cameras each have their own merits. While I agree that the use case for this type of camera is limited , it would have been better to see more progress with new medium format products

    • @JustZG
      @JustZG Год назад +2

      It doesn't. Not at all other than design and inbuilt SSD. Both camera shares the same sensor built by Sony.
      I'm totally not a fan of the lack of dpad or joystick to control the focus points... using the touch screen is a big no for me. While Color preference between the two cameras is subjective (both known for their famous color science)-- One thing that's not subjective is the Fuji gfx100s superior autofocus, features and MUCH more extensive native lens line up. Slap a GF 45 or 110mm and it'll smoke circles around anything this Hassie can do with it's native lenses. Then you have more upcoming Fuji lenses like the 55mm 1.7.. it's not really a contest tbh unless you have a huge love for the Hassie brand.
