More family bonding time at that air speed. Just think of the time you saved by NOT driving in the family minivan or the drive to an airport and all the hassle that goes along with that. Yes 130 knots is considered slow but it is still worth it in the long run. When you find your next project plane and get it fixed up the way you want. The speed may be faster but so are the bills associated with it. I really like watching your videos even the subtitles. You are such a HOOT.
Thanks so much! and that audio panel with the ability to isolate the back from the front... AWESOME!!!! and I need that in my mini van... hahahaha
LOVE your commercial pilot voice! Had to watch that bit a few times for a few more giggles.
Awesome Video ! I was an Avionics Mechanic for rotary wing aircraft in the Army . I studied at Fort Eustice for 6 months before being released to my duty station. I like your work. I like your videos . You are such a great inspiration . Take care fly safe!
Army rotary wing powertrain mechanic here. Also Ft. Eustis for school.
Glad your family had a safe trip.
thanks so much. this is how memories are made :)
Good for you! I bought a '67 Cherokee 6 a generation ago for exactly the same reason - 4 kids and trips to take! Great load hauler and reasonably long flight legs! Kids are grown and gone now, but so comfortable in the '6, I don't plan to downsize. Never know when you will want to carry a load - or friends!
Loved all the videos from beginning of this rebuild adventure to seeing your first family trip! Time to refurb my '6, especially avionics - what we replaced when we got it in 1992 need to be replaced again. You gave me lots of good ideas!
Keep the videos coming!
Thanks for the comment! After that Approach Fast stack discovery, avionics upgrades are no problem.
Great video. I have taken my Six from Tucson Arizona as far as San Salvador, Bahamas, and the Cayman Islands with full scuba gear for two and a portable amateur radio set-up. The 130 knots is a bit slow, but the comfort factor and useful load, in my mind, make up for the speed. I also use oxygen above about 6000 feet and I feel refreshed even after 8 hours of flying in a day.
That's great! I'd love to connect more about those trips and all the paperwork and other things required. email me at jiminize1@yahoo.com
Anything is better than bad roads, traffic, buttheads and detours . Looks good kid. You are amazing.
WooHoo! Aviation people are the best!! Great trip and glad you all made it home safe and sound.
yes they are! Thanks for the comment
That’s a beautiful family. You’re a lucky guy.
hahaha love your great sense of humor Jimmy! "this is your captain speaking.." Great videos!
Looks like you had a good time with the fam and the six did it’s job. Congratulations on the plane and looking forward to future videos of upgrades to your Cherokee
Yes! Thank you!
Thanks for posting. Learned a lot in just 10 min! Safe travels Jimmy!
Glad you enjoyed it
Man I'm loving your commentary & really enjoy all your content!!!...thanks a bunch!!...stay safe!... respect from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼
Found your channel, love it…. Thanks for taking us along
Watson Aero is the best! Rebuilt the engine for my 182. Just “bumping” into James is never a bad thing!
Awesome!! yeah, he seemed really cool and jumped right in to help.
I owned an RV9A. I replaced the steam gages with flat screens. Very cool toys!! I understand 200 kts very well. Thx for your video!
Really awesome plane when it's working well. Love the old school instrument panel. Anyways, glad you all are safe. Happy flying!
Thanks, you too!
Learned to fly at Augusta Aviation. Even spent a little while working the counter to help pay for the habit! Great place and great memories.
Nice!! great place!
I have been watching your channel for a bit, i live right behind a private strip for 30 years. I've always wanted to fly but now i just retired and i think im going to go for it. Thanks for the vids!
Capt. Jimmy, We love your videos
thanks so much!
Hey, great vid as always, so glad you got it fixed to quick - and just shows the value of the pre flight checks! - for your in cockpit audio try adding a 40db stereo audio attenuator into the line - the radio audio tends to overpower the recording device - it works a treat!
Thanks for the info, good to know!
Thanks for the tip Induced Bank! I'll give that a go!
Great video! I’m glad it worked out great.
As a Type 1 Diabetic who’d literally give anything to be able to fly my family around as PIC at 130 knots instead of driving 55 mph in traffic I mentally just can’t understand the conundrum you are in. Your vacation for me would have been 15 hours driving each way (and I loath airlines)
BUT I AM enjoying watching your journey. 😁
This brings back memories piling into my dads Cessna 182 one thing my dad taught me about family trips. Quicker and the higher you get, the sooner they sleep
Cool, funny AND useful! Thanks! As soon as I finish my 3 other projects.... A plane is on the list.
Glad it went good 💖 Great video ✈👍
Glad to see you guys made it safe and you didn’t lose an engine!
FANTASTIC!! CONGRATS ON THE FLIGHT! Great story too about seeing that preventatively yourself and getting the part cheap (or free?) and fixing it right then and there? AMAZING. Don't see the pilots doing that on 737s huh?
I love ur videos Jimmy, keep up the GR8 work and I always wait till the next one!!!
Always enjoy your videos Jimmy. Thank you.
Love your sense of humor! Good stuff
You’re a an intelligent great guy. Love your videos.
Brilliant, well done James 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
thanks!
Glad you and family are safe
There are winds at altitude that go close to 130 knots....Glad you have safely completed your trip.
Literally a baby grand caravan! Love it jimmy as always.
Captain Jimmy ,very lucky you guys manage to land without an issue,,and super lucky to have an spare part that happens to be the same exact part you was need it Awesome Flying

Awesome vid glad you and your family got home safe Nice plane good pre flight and HI from a Damp Manchester UK fly safe and go steady
I live near Augusta Ga it’s cool to see that you stopped in Augusta to get your plane fixed and back in the air.
Wow, a lesson learnt - Pre-Flight Checks & Mnemonics throughout...
Nice video. Thanks. 🔆
Awesome job mr cook. Love your vids
10:08 I spit my coffee out! LOL. Good report.
hahahaha, thanks!
Great video, Thanks!
Glad you guys made it safely back on the ground in FL

Fantastic family day out.
Well done Jimmy!
thank you!
Love your Chanel Jimmy from New Zealand
I have all the faith in the world Jimmy that soon you will have your dream plane...best of luck to you and yours buddy...
Jimmy - I don't know why, but it seems like your "bad days" are better than my "good days"! Really, you found an oil line in the back of a truck?
hey, I'll take it when I can get it! lol and that was definitely a divine appointment!
@@therealjimmysworld I was praying angels all around your trip...thank them.
thank you!
Absolutely Fabulous
Love Daniel Field, spent some time there when i lived near Augusta
Glad you discovered that oil leak! Showing yet again, flying and piloting is a game of diligence - checklists, inspections, etc. Would have been quite a shitty day if you ran that big six out of oil with a plane full of your family. You may grumble about the speed, but that Cherokee Six is the Suburban of the skies. Beautiful family, keep the fun content up.
Big hello from New Zealand. Just started watching your videos. Made me start investigating what it takes to get a nz pilots license. I'm sure my wife will be ok with that..great videos!
Wow😄 Jimmy you really are something else! Love your childish sence of humour😄👍! And it so shines through that you know what your doing. I would not hesitate flying with you, even though I feel safer in a commercial plane. Haven't been up in a small plane since I was about 10, now I'm 48😎. Used to dream of building my own Rutan based aircraft, the Cozy MKIV. Have a good one living the dream, and safe flight! 😄🤩
Such a funny funny introduction it made me laugh!
You are an amazing character.
GOD has Blessed you so much a beautiful Family and Nice aircraft you picked up. I would say I am Envious and I am but really I do Not deserve your Blessings. Boy GOD is Watching over you and Your Family. Praise GOD.
Wow!! I know KDWU very well. Grew up in the area and lived on 6th directly across from airport entrance for several years. Small world. Been watching your vids for awhile. Didn't know you had any Tri-State roots...
Very cool!
Sometimes airplanes are a hole in the air you fill with money. In my case I had to make a decision. Should I fly this week or eat!!!!! I enjoy your loose in the shoes semi slapstick humor. I love flying and enjoy watching good pilots fly. Thanks for posting your videos…👍
Possibly one of the best aviation channels at this time.
Great video
Wow your videos are just awesome
Thank you The Picture inside this video are perfect
What a magical button!
Great video
WatsonAero is the rockstar !
I notice you leave the altimeter set to QNH when in the circuit (pattern). Here in the U.K. we set the altimeter to QFE for take off and in the circuit so it reads height above the ground, not height above sea level.
my last big trip was Az to Missouri, at 100kts. no more complaining, enjoy that amazing airplane.
whew... that would give you time to enjoy the sights!
Love it!!
Thanks so much!
Loved this video!
It's funny I'm planning a road trip around Central America with my family and you just take one of your planes 😅 I hope i can be in that position some day my friend, glad you guys had a safe trip!
Very entertaining !
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 Glad everything turned out well.
I really like your Chanel, used to similar AC back in the 1970s.
Thanks for the comment!
We had a 1956 piper PA-22-150 (the flying milk stool) back in 1977, with a family of 4 and it was a blast. Very forgiving airplane with a climb prop, we lived in the mountains north of Spokane WA. Keep us informed on your adventures looking for a 200kt bird PLEASE 🤞
Plant City...!!! That's AWESOME... it's my home town i grew up in, Jimmy. :)
**fist bump bro** (oh, and God's got this...) :)
In fact, when i was in high school (PCHS) i used to work at that airport when the 'Sparkman's had it way back in the day. Woo
Way to step up Augusta Aviation!
Been there, done that, got the T-shirt!
now I want a broken airplane that Augusta Aviation could fix. Still some superheroes out there!
Great 1st family trip
Man that's some bad luck. Glad you came out of it okay in the end.
thanks, yeah, it turned out well and I got to meet some great people.
wow like the 3 aero commanders before the take off never seen 3 at 1 time.
jimmy you are a great dad and a great youtuber and great pilot
Thanks so much!
You have alot of guts dude, flying that old Piper around with the family on board. I like your style
Thanks so much!
@@therealjimmysworld you got it
You are a good pilot
Just think what it’s like for us land lovers at 65mph and on the road for 12 + hours with same kids ! Now that SUCKS ! Lol
Lol you the Man Jimmy...no way I could have the kids in form for 6 hours..lol. Great intell. Have fun Buudy.
You and me both!
Love the vids! I'm so getting a captain shirt if I get my license. Lol Bones Airlines
You should!
That's the kind of broken airplane and solution I want to have if I ever have to have one. Hope the good lord continues his blessings to you and your family!
right! He definitely created that appointment!
@@therealjimmysworld Nope.
Yes, Lord Vader uses the Force for good sometimes.
Next time how about the "the good Lord" direct the guy doing the annual to find the line before it rubs to a leak. That would be a blessing.
So, what am I not understanding? The title says "emergency landing".
Click Bait!
Nice videos! One day I will buy a 6.
If you play your cards right, this could be you... hahahaha.
Wooow shnazzy shirt dad!
Pastor Jimmy keeping busy at home!!
Cool
Pretty wide CG range with the gang all towards the back watching movies and no one in the right front seat.
Well done on the flight sir!
Glad you enjoyed it! yeah, no wonder they call it the kilo carrier! You really can load it up and still be within CG.
Glad to see that your trip worked out. Aviation people are awesome, for the most part.
And..you know...speed is just a number.
Where did you get the As Funk hat?
Also, you should stop and take your kiddos to the Air Force museum at Warner-Robbins. It's on your way, more or less.
Thanks for the comment! The hat came from Colorado Springs at the Academy. I'll have to check out the museum!
haha fantastic adventure my friend, wanting a 6, prefer a M20J..200 mph, yessir!
You and me both!
Hi Jimmy (if I'm allowed to address u like that). Saw one if your videos (the first I saw indeed) a couple of days ago and posted a nice comment (I think). It was the one about a V-tail u managed to start. Now I came across this one I i have to reinstate my comment. U are one of the funniest guy ('funny..
?what u mean I'm funny?? funny how?? funny like a clown??do I amuse u??tell me funny how??😁) intelligent and interesting tube content producer I've seen on the net recently. And boy, are we fed up with u-tubers without interesting contents. So, my word for u is....god bless for the amazing quality and difference u produce. Keep up with the good work. Sorry for my poor English (portuguese people speak English like this 😁), and happy landings from Portugal.
