Jimmy. The best flying advice my Dad gave me was this; 'There are old pilots and bold pilots but very few old, bold pilots.' Be an old pilot, Jimmy. Don't take chances. Take every known precaution. If the brakes aren't working, don't rely just on chocks. Bind that airframe to the ground with cables. You avoided a disaster by pure 'God watching over you' luck.
PLEASE heed this advice and most importantly - MINDSET. Be careful dude! BE REALLY CAREFUL. I wouldn't want to fly an abandoned airplane because of all of the hidden "oh.... THAT" moments. So for you, your family, your viewers, and everyone underneath you: Please Be Careful. Hi Jimmy, as an early 310 owner of long standing (36 years cumulative so far) I hearty recommend the Cleveland wheel and brake conversion, far more effective and reliable than the Bendix brakes which were original equipment. BTW, early 310s have some characteristics which are quite different from other twins, especially when compared to a docile plane like an Apache. I strongly recommend getting a thorough checkout in one with an instructor who has extensive early 310 experience. Please email me if you would like a few tips. Looking forward to seeing the new, improved 310!

Basically what happened is when I came into landing that day and put the gear down I herd a pop and the gear cycled normally but the left main wouldn't lock on and gave gear unsafe light and gear warning. And while landing eventually the gear collapsed. Luckily I was with my instructor so we were safe but the aircraft was damaged.
