Jimmy, you certainly are an entertaining vlogger. But more than that, you are a fantastic ambassador for aviation enthusiasts. Kudos to you. I've enjoyed everything you've done since I became a subscriber to your channel. I have missed not one and look forward to seeing what you have going on every week. Your channel to me is like me watching a star trek episode back when I was a kid. I couldn't hardly wait for the next week to show up just so I could see what the crew of the enterprise was going to do. Like that, I'm the same with your channel. Thank you so much, from me and I'm certain at least 200k other people that watch you.
Hey Jimmy I'm pretty excited watching you working on that 3/10 I live in Florida down by Clewiston love to come and hang out with you someday. I am the king of repair and can fix almost anything
Jimmy, I have become a huge fan. Thank you for all that you are doing to promote flying and resurrecting these planes that would otherwise never do what they were intended to do. Thank you for your service and thank you for saving these planes. My grandpa was a CFI and A&P and I spent many summers in Georgia sweating my butt off helping him work on planes. Watching your videos makes me want to get back in the air and actually get my license to complete what my grandpa wanted me to do. Much love from North Carolina. If you get up this way looking at planes, I would be more than happy to lend a hand to help rescue one. God bless you all.
To make a pipe round again use a crescent wrench. Put it on a mostly round section, then rotate, moving along the pipe as you go. It will make it round again!
The 310 is coming along GREAT! I'm glad that you went with saving that beautiful bird. Keep up the good work everyone! I can't wait to see that beautiful bird airborne again!
Want to know a neat little trick to putting hoses on tight fits? Squirt it with carb cleaner. You have about 10 seconds to put it on. Wait too long and you'll have to squirt it again, but----you can't squirt it too much as it will swell the hose. Eventually (quickly) it dries, though...neat trick. Discovered by yours truly!
No Jimmy you are not Crazy! LOL! You just enjoy bringing back the old Plane's. You with Plane's me with Boat's enjoy the older one's because the New one's just don't have the Class. Keep up the Great work and before you know it you will have the 310 doing Trip's for the Cancer Center's.
HI MR WEBB-JIMMY, JUST FOR YOUR INTEREST,YEARS AGO I WAS IN ARMY GUARD, WE HAD A COMPANY 310, I BELIEVE @ 1955...NO ONE LIKED IT SAID TOO SLOW , SO SOMEHOW WE GOT MONEY TO DO A CIVILIAN GO FAST CONVERSION...TWO EIGHT CYL ENGINES AND 3 BLADE PROPS, TOOK A LONG TIME HAVING ONLY A FEW FULLTIME GUYS TO MOST OF WORK...VERY INTERESTING, WHEN IT WAS DONE,[EVERYONE] WANTED TO TAKE IT UP,BEFORE CONVERTED NO HOURS, LIKE NEW,THX...
Congrats to Sparky for getting the wires going where they need to go. Grizzly/Jimmy, u guys are great at entertaining us with Sounds and Groffs. lv ur videos.
Jimmy I've noticed that you were having trouble with the fish tape. If you have an empty tube. Get a light string tied to an ear plug. Blow the earplug through with high pressure air. Works really quick and 10 times faster than a fish tape. I had one ear plug with a plastic tag holder through it and through the end of my string. That worked perfect for me also.
17:00. Oof. When you put it like that. It sounds rough. However. The value of what came out of those hours is actually priceless. I always look to see what value or lessons I can take from any situation. I would have loved the opportunity to take the plane apart just to put it back together. I’ve been doing that since I was 2. It’s how I learned so much. I must know how everything works. Once you understand how something works. You can easily fix it.
Hey Jimmy. Angel Flight is a good organization. I had friends do it when I was flying in Maine. Worthwhile and rewarding is the feedback I got. Take care. Clear Prop! Red
I am a registered nurse(ICU) and prior Blackhawk Pilot (MEDEVAC). I was asked by one of my general surgeons to be the nurse on an Angel Flight he coordinated for a very sick patient in southeast Utah. What a rewarding opportunity. Got a little time "on the yoke" which was also nice. I can still manage straight and level! I hope to get down to Plant City for a visit soon after CRNA school (3 yrs). I'd love to be your medical on a flight one day!
That was some pretty tense moments when you were putting in the Tee connector at the end there. I half expected to hear some "Lamaze breathing" and push push push. 🤣🤣🤣 Good stuff!
How did they manage to hook up the t connector in 1955 when the aircraft was made? they didnt have a prostate camera to view it all back then!!..... Clear Prop!!!
Thank you for a little on-site in to your world I'm Retired Truck Driver and now I need some thing to keep me active and i have been looking to building a boat or a seaplane or a flotplane for the lake.Thank you for your Time.
Ever heard of a funnel, Jimmy? I hear they work quite well for filling fuel tanks! Seriously, stores like Tractor Supply sell real nozzles for fuel jugs so that you're not stuck with the stupid things that now come with new jugs.
I was never much into Aviation other than going to the odd air show which I did very much enjoy. I've subscribed to your channel and now have some interest in the Aviation world as far as learning about the mechanics and operations go, thanks for that :)
My school used to have a Mooney that they added fuel bladders too prior to selling it and from what I heard adding them was a stupidly labor intensive job. Can not imaging what it would be to remove and replace a set. Other than that it looks great to see the progress that is being made.
you guys are alot of fun watching this project,i have an a&p license dont know if ill ever use it though ,my thing is honda vfr and honda night hawk refurbishments or pax cars, ive worked on them long enough,I should know it all by now,its tough here in colorado.a freezing hell ,I wish I was down where you guys are, colubus georgia area, denver is outta hand.
I don't blame you!! I wouldn't fly that thing either, after watching some of the work you have done on it. I know you have some good guys there, but frankly your work scares me, the only thing I hope is they triple check your work, and correct all the errors when we aren't watching.
Awesome project mate, been watchingyou for a bit, just awesome! - Regardiing gas cans, the 1st proper one was designed by the Germans for war and carrying fuel/water, there have been many other iterations since bit the original 1940's "Jerry Can" is still around and used all over the world to this day! ;)
Hey jimmy led solar panels self recharging system setup on the go when parked.& flying in the air on sunny days. That's 12-volts to 24-volts for inside.& outside lighting to get in.& access your plane with remotely to. That has multi functions settings at A push of buttons to. Harbor freight has them.& online ordering to.

Go Jimmy and friends go!
If repairs don't break him high fuel prices sure won't.
whoa... whoa... these fuel prices have gotten out of control!!! ;)
well, you've got to feed the 12 cylinders in your multiple vehicles, 😂😂
I’m a retired SMSGT and do love everything flying. It is really nice to see you keeping old planes get back into the air again

And the “Hold your tongue “ thing was my grandpa all day!! He couldn’t work on anything without that tongue out😂🤣. I do it too
Thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed the video!

That’s a great tip
The 310 is coming along GREAT! I'm glad that you went with saving that beautiful bird. Keep up the good work everyone! I can't wait to see that beautiful bird airborne again!
Thank-you for your content .
Awesome job to the whole team!! Hope the LH tank and lines hold tight like the RH did... Can't wait to see the systems checks begin!!
Angel Flight! Volunteer program that pilots offer their planes up for patients go to surgery, etc. Heroes for sure
when this plane is ready i would be happy to see it flying to Holland... thats a good test flight and ill wave @ you... great video.
2:42 - Jimmy: We don't visually think we're gonna have any issues
Sparky inside: starts grinning
love that :)
Jimmy, I thought that the IO-470 had fuel injected engines, so when you mentioned pressure carbs on this one, I was surprised.
I see you cutting the rubber lines with tin snips, I highly recommend looking at some actual hose cutters. Good work though!
To most people this would be like watching grass grow!!"....
But for some reason I find it mildly satisfying...
Press On Jimmy!!!
🐦

Major maintenance is a understatement.

I was thinking that a blooper reel would be cool but then I realized the entire show is a blooper reel. This is my kind of entertainment!
Yes Angel Flight is an awesome mission. I used to fly for them in an Aztec and later in a Mooney. Very rewarding.
Nice to know where all possible problem areas are beforehand...the more complexity ,the more potential probs need to be addressed...Ty James for this
Thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed the video!

Thank you for the video gentlemen. Keep them coming.
I could watch this all day !!! Great work Jimmy !!!
You need a fuel transfer crank pump. For little stuff like this.
Your videos make want to come out of retirement NOOOOT! All the looking up working overhead I don’t miss at all.
i myself not a aviation person whatsoever but love watching some of your videos !!! ive always been a sucker for fixing anything
Thanks so much!
I found that tongue position is critical to positioning hoses, nuts and bolts. Glad your using the technique.
I use the swearing technique.
I got excited when the fuel pump came on. Lots of work to come.
I have been enjoying every episode of the 310

You're doing a Top job, thanks for doing it all.
Glad to see things are moving forward. As always your videos are the best!

Getting closer everyday!
You guy’s makes my day. It’s a BEAUTIFUL day here in Florida for this kind of work. LOL
Love this channel. Thank you for sharing.
Great job. Getting closer.
You just don't realise the complexity that goes into a plane, when there not in bits they look so simple.
Keep the good work going jimmy
seriously.... engine, wings, steering wheel... sheesh.... ;)
As a former Navy Aircraft maintainer, loving your vlogs Jimmy. Cheers
Thanks so much!
You should use a ratcheting crimping tool for those isolated connectors.
I hope u get the Aztec going next! I catch myself staring at it all the time
Looking good!
Good job Jimmy.
This first flight will need a kind of craziness for sure. I would say even taxiing...
One step closer Jimmy.. great job!!!
Hi Jimmy, love the show can't wait to see the 310 take to the sky's, keep up the good work. Richard
Thanks so much! me too!
Ever heard of a funnel, Jimmy? I hear they work quite well for filling fuel tanks! Seriously, stores like Tractor Supply sell real nozzles for fuel jugs so that you're not stuck with the stupid things that now come with new jugs.
