We're doing the same thing soon. We sold the house, gave stuff away, threw stuff away, and are storing a bunch of stuff, and we're leaving in a similar rig. We have a Jayco bunkhouse trailer for my son, wife and myself, and we bought a 3/4 ton Chev. to tow with. Good luck

Great job on the video! The music makes it sound as epic as it really is. Leaving your huge house and going on the road to full time RV living. I lived in my 5th wheel for almost 4 yrs. It was destroyed by a tornado. No one was in it or hurt thank god! I'm back in a house for now, but plan to do the RV thing again and want to live out my life that way. Can't wait to catch up on your videos! Just found you today. Don't know how I missed you?

Just a note. I used to walk to the car with my fur baby, in my hands also. One day she panicked over something and bolted out of my arms. Maybe you could put your baby in a small carrier to transfer it😊 I'm sorry, I can't remember that quickly if it's a fur baby girl or boy.

a wonderful adventure awaits you ,,i've got plans to be a fulltime RVer eventually
currently i live in my portable house 3 or 4 months of the year ,,and i am totally off grid when i do ,,i just can't give up the home base though ,, my family has owned a small farm in iowa for 60 years ,, i grew up here and have firm roots here ,, although i love traveling and do so on a regular basis ,,in fact i just returned from a trip to south dakota where i had a hard time parking my RV at a state park because they cater to people with motorhomes and trailers under 32 feet ,, my trailer is 44ft long and the tow vehicle 35ft long
I am a small town guy kinda given to ovr statement in what i do ,,and i built this vehicle and trailer from scratch just over 10 years ago ,starting with the trailer ,it was originally supposed to be 30 feet but ended up a 44ft mobile home tht's 9 feet wide and 13.5ft tall
in the end i discovered that it's so heavy that my F450 diesel pickup didn't have enough suspension or power to move it ,, thus began a 2 year search for the right vehicle to become this trailer's companion
i found it setting in a corn field ,, ( IT ) was a 1974 chevrolet C6500 truck with a 28ft box
this truck has been completely restored and now boasts a 16ft RV body with a 12ft flatbed behind that ,, kind of an ugly combination but it works well because this allows me to carry 2 big water tanks and a generator and power storage system ,,
as built this truck originally had a 427 big block chevy engine and 5 speed
I discovered immediately that this was not gonna work ,, it didn't have the power for long hill climbs ,, over the winter of 2008 , i completely replaced the entire engine/trans and driveline with something much bigger ,,my neighbor scrapped a large dump truck and i borrowed the engine and 18 speed trans for my project ,, this engine is a monstrous V12 diesel ,and it DOES have more than enough power to pull the trailer and climb any mountain
it's much more suited to pulling this 55,000 pound vehicle that i call home than any gasoline engine

incidentally the truck's name is ( Monstro )
it's painted fire engine red with black trim ,and the RV body is white ,and there is black scroll lettering on the bottoms of both doors that says Screamin Jimmy 12V-71TT
anyone who has ever heard a 12V71 will attest to it's noise ,especially if you heard it pulling a 10% grade in low gear ,with wide open throttle ,,the trailer looks like a pretty normal house trailer built on a 44ft custom 5th wheel frame , has 3 12K trailer axles with dual wheels on them all ,the trailer weighs in at 30K pounds ,, it does have 5 slideouts that are staggered because i designed them to slide out farther than the 4ft max that most trailers do ,mine open 66 inches ,,
I added some interesting stuff that nobody else thinks of though ,, the roof has a bunch of solar panels 16 on the trailer and 8 on the truck ,,2ftx4ft panels 500 watts each ,,and i have the matching storage capacity to go along with the solar power ,, it adds alot of weight but the 2 big storage batteries i have allow me to run the AC units even with no generator ,, i can go 3 days with no hookup , even longer during sunny days

Hi, great video and wish you all the best in your ventures/adventures..Just a little criticism,@4:10 it appears that you made a rolling stop and hope that this is not a habit..As a city bus driver I know this can be a bad habit for many.We are both driving big vehicles and they need extra respect..Stats show we all will miss something eventually, eg: person, bike...Great driving in all other aspects...

Hi Van, glad you liked it! We actually have a drone and we've been flying for about 2 years! We will feature some drone footage in our videos from time to time. The drone footage really works well with gorgeous landscapes!
Hey guys! Great video series, definitely am envious of your situation out on the road... I wanted to ask you if you are still working while on the road in some way and/or if you made enough from investments or the sale of the house to fund the lifestyle. I have a wife, teenage daughter and young son and I'm really getting the urge to want to take them out on the road if they are open to it. I think my wife would be, but she is a little reserved so some test trips are in order before we would ever do anything like that.
I'm a professional photographer by trade and need to find a way to make that cover the costs while out on the road, but I think this is really something that shouldn't be too much of an issue. I liked a more recent video suggestion of the online school your daughter is taking, I think that is a much better way to go than home schooling, but I am concerned with how your daughter deals with not having her friends around most of the time. Tat is a major concern I have for my girl, and I don't know how well she handles that...?

Hey! Great video! Best wishes to you and your lovely family! I got a question for you. What Gimbal and camera did you use for showing around your house and stuff? I know all your gears are in the description but I wanted to know the exact gears because your video is so good. I was wondering if you were using your phone with the phone gimbal or you used sony camera with your phone gimbal. Very confused.. haha
Most of this video was shot with the DJI OSMO camera and not my phone. The in car footage was with a GoPro Hero4 The only footage with my phone was when I was talking to the cat Jo-C and that was just resting on the ground.

I'm 25 and I want to be a Full Time RV'er!!! But I want a Class A Motorhome, not a Travel Trailer or a Fifth Wheel as I personally only like Motorhomes(My parents have one and I'm quite jealous LOL) but that's just me. Plan to get a 1988 Winnebago Superchief 31RQ with a Chevy chassis as I personally like older RV's and I can't afford anything new anyway. Wish Me Luck!!! Best of luck to you guys BTW!!! Totally Trailer Well it might be a while. First I need to get a job so I can save up to fix up my car as it's got some repairable rust underneath, I live in Minnesota and we use a lot of salt in the winter so go figure, also it's an old Plymouth Acclaim and those were notorious for rusting lol. Also needs a new paint job and a new hood and front bumper(I don't like new vehicles). Only then can I save up for the Winnebago and a tow dolly for my car. Then I'm going to look for a self employment opportunity so I can travel anytime I want. Only then can I hit the road.

Yes, if you are leaving the house empty. Otherwise they will start to smell.
The dishwasher and oven yes...but the buyer purchased the fridge so it stayed too (along with the washer and dryer).

Ray Sater The house was sold. We sold everything in fact... just didn't make sense to store "things" and we look forward to living this life and helping others indefinitely!

Hi Joe, the house sold and we sold all of our furniture too. Very little actually went into storage (only personal mementos).

Hi Mike, we loved our house and our neighbors and it was bittersweet to leave. We left by choice because we wanted to take this opportunity to travel the country with our daughter. We planned and saved for this new adventure for a long time. As a family we get to travel, explore, find new adventures and do volunteer work and disaster relief rebuilding along the way. We have wanted to do this for a long time and with careful planning and scheduling we were finally in a position to make our dream a reality. We are not by any means homeless, just "houseless" (by the traditional meaning of a house- since we have a house, it's just on wheels)! Thanks for subscribing :)

No our house did not get repossessed, this was 100% our choice and voluntary. We planned this move for almost 2 years.
