    Have you gotten a surge protector yet? U don’t want the park power to fry all of your electrical in ur trailer!!! Never get in a hurry to leave. Set up ur check list on ur phone and go by it religiously! Good luck and keep the videos coming!!

    Tip for winter. If you have electric water heater leave it on if you have full hookups so your pipes don’t freeze and also get a heated hose. Tip 2 would be to fill portable water tank up and only use water from their and just refill. And leave cabinets open for cold cold temps. You DONT want a busted water line!!!

    @alytaylor5884 3 года назад +6

    Pro Tip from a frosty climate: Carry a cheapo lighter and use it on low flame heat up your key before stocking in the lock to thaw the lock. May take a few times of reheating depending on how cold it is. Good luck! You haven't had accidents or injuries, y'all are doing great! :-)

    Congratulations and WELCOME to RV life! I admire both of your sense of adventure and the fact that you get to travel for your jobs which allows you to RV full time. I have been RVing for a few years, but mostly weekend stuff. Looking to get out much more with a few cross country trips. Stay safe, travel well, and make the most of it.

    If you haven’t figured it out yet. When you are hooking up wdh after you lock hitch ball, use tongue jack to lift back of truck and it will make putting those torsion bars on a lot easier. Same goes for when you are disconnecting it. Good luck

    Little tip on hooking up the distribution bars. After the hitch is attached to the ball use your power jack to raise the rear end of your tow vehicle just enough to release pressure, then just set them on the brackets. Great job and love the videos.

    Experienced RVers would not have traveled the area you did in the winter, especially with storms on the horizon. You will find that good or bad weather will be a strong influence on when and where you will travel. Snowy or worse, icy roads when towing a trailer is often an accident waiting to happen. Glad to see you made it out okay.

    Looking forward to your vids. We are about to hit the road for a while too. Currently living on Cape Cod. We love winter camping. It’s best to winterize your plumbing when it gets below freezing for weeks at a time. Have containers of water on board and keep rv antifreez in the black and grey tanks toilet and sink traps. If you get a site that has power, heat with an electric oil filled radiator ( nice quiet warmth)
    Enjoy😀

    Nice camper. Tip for hooking up your equalizer hitch so you never need to use that pry bar again. Hook up to the ball off your vehicle and engage ball hitch locking mechanism. Then power your electric jack downward until you lift the rear of your vehicle upward just a little, then your Equalizer hitch bars will swing onto the L brackets much easier without having to pry them on. Do the reverse process to take them off.

    • @sheild1117
      @sheild1117 3 года назад

      They did use the jack to lift the vehicle, they just needed to lift it a bit higher, but that’s because it looks as if their sway control brackets are too high, the spring bars need to be parallel to the frame, their setup will still work but I think it just needs to be adjusted a bit better.

    It's gonna be fun, you are starting young, enjoy all the adventure. Now some tips, water is important, that cartridge you have does F*** All, invest in a 3 stage water filter 5 micron sediment, 1 micron bacterial, lastly a carbon filter. Put screws in your bumper so it can be hooked on and off easily. Use Zero G hoses, I carry 4 - 25' hoses cause you never know the distance. Make sure you put pressure reducer at the source or you may ruin your plumbing. I use the steel gardena connecters to quickly and reliably put together any combination of things. enjoy.

    • @brooklynmicole8404
      @brooklynmicole8404 3 года назад

      I would agree to not pull travel trailers with it just because of safety. I always recommend to pull 2,000 lbs less than the max just to be sure. Some people who aren’t car people or haven’t towed may not fully know how to do things safely. Also remember just because it can do it doesn’t mean it should. I tow with both f250 and f150 so we got a smaller camper

    • @CrosbyGraceTravels
      @CrosbyGraceTravels  2 года назад

      The Jeep my bf was towing with in this video was a V8 so it could tow up to 7,200lbs. We had no issues driving it all the way to the west coast. He now has a f150 hybrid so now we can tow up to 12,000lbs!

      We have 2 dogs both 100 lbs and in a small rv full time both working full time as well. We live at one campground from April- November and then just wing it the rest of the months since it snows where I live it can be hard finding camp sites. Also remember some people think if you can’t pay cash for a camper than don’t do it but I think the only way that is necessary is if you want to be debt free but camping will never be debt free so if getting a loan gets you into a camper than do it!

    I’ve been considering this for a few years. I work full time so I would have to stay local and go to work. Luckily I am surrounded by BLM land so I could do it for free. Just keep moving frequently. I’m nervous to try it because I still have to work. I would hate for the trailer to get robbed or stolen.

      My bf had a Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 before he bought this trailer. It can tow up to 7,200lbs and worked like a dream all the way to the west coast. He now has a hybrid f150 so if we get a new rig in the future it'll be more than enough to tow whatever we decide to get.
