Finally the interior doesn't look immediately dated on release
Was literally the biggest thing holding this brand back. It’s about time they ponied up and got it together!
@@wyattmiller5268 Aston is like that brand is trying to mix luxury and sport together . If Bentley was about sport mode basically
And they have the 4 year old mercedes steering. Worst partnership they ever did.
Yes, and got rid of the all beautiful shapes and lines the previous one had
i hope there is no AMG junky emission engine
about time they upgraded the interior!

This was not the crossover I expected!
@@ZxrL true!

This may be the most beautiful car I have ever seen. In my eyes it completes everything I want from a car design: streamlined, yet sharp; classy, yet sporty; futuristic, but still looking absolutely contemporary.
I think they almost got it 100% right, but they fucked it up by romoving the clam shell desing and adding that ugly seam just before the grill, just like the vantage.
I agree if you're talking about that 1 or 2" crease pointing up to the headlights.@@alexworm1707
Wow I have been critical of the Aston Martin interior design especially the infotainment system but the new DB12 looks amazing, the interior is very reminiscent of the latest Bentleys which is high praise indeed as they were the class leaders in the GT segment but not now! Congratulations Aston Martin on producing such a stunning looking vehicle.
After the trauma caused by the awful new 5 Series, thank you Aston for not losing your way and remaining faithful to good design with this DB12.
Yeah, the new Series 5 is just devastatingly ugly.
What's a series 5?

@@jonnnyren6245 speak for yourself. My Honda Odyssey looks better than this.
@@GardenGuy1943 alright grandpa, them to take your meds.
Now that's what you call an interior upgrade, it is a shame that it couldn't have a V12 when it carries the name DB12
… wait, no V12? Or will that come later? Because that would be a major step down compared to Ferrari and Lamborgini that continue with V12s.
v12 will most likely come later like the vantage
Actually, if I had the budget to get a DB12 - the first thing I'd do is have Q take the dashboard of a DB11 and integrate it there. The interior is one of the worst designs I've ever seen. A Fiat Multipla looks sexier then this. And I really loved the DB9 and DB11 interiors.
@oliver533 but then they would have to call it the "V12 DB12"
maybe they put the V12 for the AMR version
I am so incredibly relieved to not see 3 giant screens going across the dash. THANK YOU, Aston Martin
Props to the interior design team, much needed update and I love all the physical buttons. Blending the modern benefits of LCDs but the practicality of mechanical tactile adjustment.
I think aston is slowly but surely maturing it’s design into greatness again 👏🏼
Stunning. Great Job, DB11 looked already stunning so they didn't overdo it, but made massive improvements were needed. Straight to the top among the best GTs on the market.
1:40 the side view is boring. Marek Reichman is no Ian Callum.
It’s horrible.
Everything is stunning except the side mirrors. They stick out too far and look goofy.
My Honda Odyssey looks better than this
@ 007 Valkyrie I lease it.
Aston Martin have been bringing out some gorgeous looking cars recently can't wait to get my hands on one of these one day 👏
Manifest baby 🙌
Best looking Aston since the DB4. First time I have been excited about a car launch in decades….
This was a fantastic introduction and deep dive into the DB12! Loved the conversation, and the b-roll was on point. But it's absolutely stunning, thanks for always bringing us the top tier Aston content!
Thanks Alex 😎🏁
@@MrJWW What about the Valhalla? Any news?
Love the interior. A huge step up from the db11, but the exterior hasn't really changed. Seems more like a DB11.2
And that's fine by me.
Looks so much better though this is how the DB11 should have looked
@@SenszR Agreed
The D11 looked great so no concern here
I mean porsche 911's dont change much so
Looks stunning. But a huge shoutout to Lawrence Stroll, I really love what he's doing with the company as a whole, the F1 team is doing well and now the car product line is looking amazing ❤
Fabulous shape, so Aston! The interior remake puts it in a new class, not something to overlook, so great to see full size headlights and the rears are achingly beautiful. Love the front end sculpting... Congratulations Aston!
Absolutely classy - Especially in the Silver exterior. I'm so happy to see Aston Martin investing in their own technology, infotainment etc and driving innovation
Looks amazing. The centre stack is a game changer. Fit it to the DBX and watch the sales grow. The old system was a deal breaker for many.
Finally Aston has it all, great exterior, power/handling and finally and interior that matches..... cant wait for James to test drive it !!
My dream sports car. There's just something about Aston Martins, so sporty yet classy.
DB12 sounds like a name that you would put on a car with 12 cylinders. It's a pity that their flagship would have only V8 from now on. But I believe it's still great car. Don't want that to repeat the history after the Jaguar XJ220 and It's V12 (that became a V6).
As most buyers are unlikely to be able to get the most out of the new V8 and suspension changes, I feel very glad that AM have made the necessary biig leap forward in the infotainment system. Plus it's achingly beautiful and, frankly intimidating!! It was difficult to imagine just where AM was going to take things from the DB11.
You WANT one!!!
Cant wait for the DBS if this thing is already such a looker.
I had dreamt of it but now that dream is dead
Great video… BEAUTIFUL car! And a bit off topic but the background music is really cool!
Beautiful! Great job James updating us the latest from Aston👍Interior looks modern with new touch screen infotainment. Any idea if DB12 will be released this year? James have you heard any updates regarding Vanquish?
This is sacrilege. the DB series of car already carrying the number TWELVE in it’s name really should have been the last swan song of the V12 engine.
aston, the sellout brand
I agree
Agreed, the advertising writes itself
This company can't do anything right!

Looks like a huge return for Aston. I hope it delivers 🤞
The Bond music, the new, beautiful, and up- teched Aston Martin DB12. The engineering focused on getting the power to the ground and addressing all the little irks that car journalists have mentioned. Aston has said with this car, "We listened."
I can't wait to hear the DB12 and see it in motion.
I forsee chills.
Well done.
I was searching for a Bond comment 😂 I really hope to see this piece of art in the next Bond movie… New Bond, new Aston, some Omega…
So good to see an updated infotainment system. About time. The circle is now complete.
I never really liked the DB11 all that much, both the exterior and interior, i thought everything was a step down from db9. But i really love what they have done with this! All the little flaws and things i disliked about the previous one are fixed and the overal l design looks stunning, classy and timeless. Love how clean it looks on the outside and finally the interior is modernized which was the biggest letdown of all Astons in the past. Super impressed and excited for this car, can't wait to see more about it.
Same. I found its looks to be low effort compared to the DBX,DBS of the same era and even the first variation of the current Vantage(Which is still not well liked apparently). This new one is beyond gorgeous. To bad they chose silver to show it off.
Yep
@@joshuakhaos4451I think the silver works perfect reminds me of Bond’s Vanquish
Yeah it’s mostly a step in the right direction. That sensor bugs me though as does that smiley face under the grill, it’s not quite a harmonious look but overall I like it.
How many of the critics on here currently own an Aston Martin, or can genuinely afford to own and buy one tomorrow? I see lots of people complaining about the DB11 for example but have you actually owned and driven one? Or even ever been in one for any extended period of time? If not, maybe shut up…only saying.
The interior is a massive step up, the exterior idk about too much.
WTH?
what are you talking about? the exterior especially the front is an insane upgrade, especially after they ugly astons that have come out recently, such as vantage and dbs
I agree, the exterior looks the same as the last car. 80% new they say but where. Honestly if they parked this next to a DB11 then we’d maybe see a difference. But I doubt I’d pick it out in a crowd of them.
The side profile could definitely be improved
I always thought the one-77 was the sexiest Aston Martin ever built
James, a wonderful interview with Aston as always. I’ve really come to compliment and laud the music choice - it has that Bond-esque mystery and suspense with orchestral tones that immediately transport me to a Bond film with a classic (or modern) Aston. Well done, sir.
Gorgeous as all Aston's are, and what a MASSIVE step up in interior. Especially on the tech side. Nice to see them getting away from old Merc tech. I do have 3 small issues I have with the 12.
I wish they would have given it a small duck tail spoiler, never been a fan of the tapered rear with the air blade. The mirrors are gimmicky, though pretty, but your car will always be asymmetrical since you need different angles for different views. And as cool and powerful as the new V8 is, a flagship Aston really should have a V12.
All and all though they got a winner on their hands
Awesome front - reminds me of an old Vanquish, the back I'm not so sure
From the back it's just a DB11, nothing to sing and dance about, probably why there wasn't much focus on it in this video.
Same here.....awesome interior, front end, and powertrain....still should have a v12 option though, but definitely a nice step up unlike the db11.....I'll still be keeping my DB9.2 for a very long time though😂
Absolutely stunning! They have really smashed it! The V12 loss is a shame but the gains are offsetting that feeling!
I believe there will be a limited run V12 variant, same as the current v12 vantage. Still a shame but the v12 in the db11 was just slighty better than the v8. I can live with that but its sad to see
Absolutely disgusting that they got rid of the V12. They need to revive the 6.0 liter V12 and stop putting these stupid Mercedes engines
@@Baujahr90erAG that’ll be interesting to see!
Mr JWW absolutely Incredible Video I think it's awesome that you got to see the All New Aston Martin DB12 and I think it looks absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to see you drive one
It looks like an updated and modern DB9/DBS and i love that, as that was their best design. This modernizes it, without being too much. Looks amazing.
if they give the DBX the same infotainment system or better, i'm sold!
Great presentation!! Its really good to see brands like Aston martin keeping their tradition and their design and at the same time integrating with top of the range technology.
I wish other brands can look at these examples and put the same thought when building and designing a new car.
So appealing to the eye 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Looks stunning, looking forward to the road tests - chassis updates and fast spooling v8, light responsive front end - love it
The interior is the missing piece to the Aston formula. They’ve done a great job here. I can see James Bond in this…Great video as usual!
That nav split is really useful - noticed that just last week on a hire car. Wish more cars did that!
My Honda Odyssey has a better nav system. This is JUNK!
@@GardenGuy1943 go drive that then
12:19 - This segment put a huge smile on my face. Finally, a manufacturer that *gets* it. The presence of redundant, physical switches is a blessing rarely bestowed upon today's new car buyers.
Wow, what a car, inside and out, top class. Well done AM and great video and showcase James.
Beautiful exterior as expected. A new fresh interior very welcome. Still alot of switches. Tactile buttons are nice to see
What a beautiful car and finally a good launch spec!
Aston Martin has always been my favorite, the looks of the new one is stunning,it's a head turner 👌well done !!
OMG, new dream car unlocked, IT LOOKS AMAZING 🥵😍 just wish it had the DB10 tail lights but this will do. or DBS superleggera rear end...
The new interior is very nice. Is so much better when the brands don't simple put a screen on the console and call it done.
Wow a new model that weighs less than the prior model; unheard of. I love this car.
Cool made vid environment well done
Beautiful, the new headlights looks so modern, finally a new nice digital screens, the cluster design looks like a luxury watch as always in Aston Martin
Looks good, but I still think the DBS looks better. The DBS design is really timeless. That thing will be a classic in the future for sure!
I’m confused. That radar placement looks horrendous. I’d have preferred it in the center
Thanks for sharing!
Super nice review with an Bond music on the background ❤
Something to cure my head after bmw 5 questionable premiere
didn't even clicked that... The people at bmw are taking L after L
I quite like this. The front has a lot more presence than the DB11 and the interior may be a game changer for Aston
The DB-11 in my opinion was a very weak effort. As was the interior of the Vantage(though I loved the exterior. Especially in that Highlighter Yellow color). But the DBS and DBX are brilliant looking cars.
Looks gorgeous inside and out. Finally an infotainment system that looks modern yet still has buttons 👌
This is stunning. Oh those swoopy headlights! Takes the best styling element of every recent big Aston and blends them all together in something that looks better than all of them. And OMG! They've FIXED the interior! Finally an Aston interior I could love. This is going to be a MASSIVE seller for Aston. Loved the Bond cues at the end James. Superb video.
For me, the Aston Martin brand has always been a dream car, and the 770 was wall hanging worthy, but this DB12 is a bases loaded bottom of the 9th walk off grandslam.
The baseball analogy is fitting for this masterpiece 💣💣
@@ruilourenco5878 Badda Bing Badda BOOM 💥
The interior is a MASSIVE improvement, but I've never liked the back (too DB11 looking...) Looking forward to the DBS version of this.
I'd have liked it better with the Vantage's/DBX's incorporated spoiler. But I'll take it as is. Its a huge improvement
Wow aston martin team. Thats exactly what i wished for Aston Martin. Amazing. I wrote some comments which describe this model. I feel so happy😊
Great video Jimmy beautiful detail did the db12 proud
A game changer for Aston Martin, definitely has a DBS influence in the styling. Finally the complete package, very impressive.
This year is Aston Martin's year.
I love it when the face and voice of the actual people of a carmaker are the ones presenting it.
DB12 having a V12 would've been so cool ,oh well..
Interior stunning, front end stunning, sides stuning, rear meh, the V12 should be there honestly but what can you do
Love it! I can see a lot of inspiration was taken from the the Porsche interior, thats a good thing!
my gosh this is absolutely amazing. Look at that interior man... and with the aggressive Aston Martin exterior... what a car.
DB12 looks like a refreshing update both outside and especially inside, were it was needed the most. The Continental GT is the benchmark GT, DB11 just didn't measure up.
that interior... omg
Magnifficent car, beautiful design.... And finally a car brand that understands that buttons for the most basic and commonly-used functions are far more practical and more pleasant to use than an all-screen type of dashboard that forces you to take your eyes away from the road to do whatever you need... Well done Aston....
Excellent video
Looks like a DB11? Which is no bad thing but 80% changed? Still at least they’ve sorted the interior👍 although no v12??
It’s really easy to see how 80% changed: New body, new interior, new suspension, new engine, revised gearbox, etc
1 in 5 parts are still exactly the same
A V12 is no longer necessary or wanted for the car
I think they nailed it with this one. The front looks really good this time, compared to the dogshit that was db11. That was the only issue I had with db11 looks wise. Also vast upgrades in the interior, the tech and the infotainment. They dropped the old laggy merc tech. They improved how the interior looks, it looks cleaner and more stately now, kinda like Bentley. Well done.
i really disagree the front on this one is so insanely unaesthetic.
the bottom is so blocky and sticks too much out, the lower air intake is too blunt just a giant small mouth with a grin on the sides.
it looks really cheap in some way and really similar to a ford fiesta ST-Edition.
Where they nailed the front design is the dbs
@@TheSolarium18 Well I guess beauty is subjective and in the eye of the beholder. In my opinion, I think the front of the DBS looked better than the DB11, and this one looks better than the DBS. They'll probably release a new DBS/Vanquish later with a V12 engine, so that might look even better. But as far as I am concerned, the DB12 is peak design. I am very satisfied with the direction they went.
@@mrdouche9172 Of course it’s completely subjective and i respect your opinion
What a car Aston Martin has nearly produced and at least you have got an interior with a technology with such a beautiful car to a higher standard than before absolutely stunning car😊
Well this video single-handedly canceled my trips for this summer and convinced me to work OT
Thank you? 😂
Looks amazing. I love Aston; I would love to own one of these. But this car is not a game-changer. The automotive world is moving too fast for incremental improvements like this... To keep up, you need to be making immense strides, and although an improvement over the DB11, this car has no answer for the mega powered EV and hybrid competition that will leave it in the dust at a fraction of the price.
The Valkyrie was brave. It was a departure from expectations and left us all stunned. The DB12 is not, and it will be obsolete at launch. Swing for the fences Aston, now isn't the time to play it safe!
Aston Martin target customer does want a electric milk float , it’s about driving dynamics the overall experience etc , the DB11 having had one on loan was very poor in this department, let’s hope for Astons sake they get it right this time 🤔
Finally an interior I can thank Aston Martin for
This is a huge step up. Looks very good. The interior was always the compromise before, not any more. Great job.
Everytime a new Aston is released they say it’s the most important car in its history. That’s what happens when your company is continually on the brink of insolvency.
Never faulted AM on outside look of the car as it always looked top notch, but the internal always let the car down. Seeing this new car with a dam fine interior looks amazing!
Looks nice, though the DB9 still has the best rear design of the last 30 years, but I think Aston missed on the name, they avoided DB8 back when the DB9 came out because they didn't want customers to be confused and think it had a V8 in it, now they name this one DB12 which confusingly has only a V8 and has no V12. Shoulda named it DB8. Hey Aston, I am confused, where is the V12 in the DB12???
coz of db13. and many markets, (esp. china) are very superstitious
Looks exactly like the db 11 with new front fascia, interior is a massive upgrade but overall it's just a facelift.
A massive let dow.
Nice but underwhelming
What are you talking about? They changed nearly everything for the better. Just because it looks similar doesn’t make it a “facelift”.
@@ludda42 it looking similar makes it a facelift, thats literally the definition of facelift.
I think that might be your best video yet James… I am most definitely a car nerd… Love the new Aston… Makes you even more proud to be a Brit!
I don't think I can get over he said, "No V12" it's the end of an era...
I think the V12 will be used for specials. I do agree though, I'd use the V12 in absolutely everything before it's too late
DB12 with a V8? Sad.
It has more HP than the V12
Nothing can beat an aston in looks 😍
Nothing can beat an older Aston Martin in looks. The newer ones are all meh. The last really gorgeous one was the 2005 V8 Vantage, designed by Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker
@@skierpage a great design but i prefer the dbs and vanquish
@@manman464 the 2012 redesign of the Vanquish shows Aston Martin's design problem. The iconic front grille remains but there's a big ugly fromny intake and diffuser underneath it. And the side character line from behind the front wheel gets longer and gaudier. The DB12 has the same problems. The cars just get uglier.
Aston makes some of the most beautiful cars and now the infotainment is on par with the car. Wonderful job
OMG!!! This is stunning!! All we ever wanted was an upgraded interior... They have nailed this!
“DB12” without a V12..🥺
Finally the interior doesn't look like an old Mercedes. It would've been a proper game changer if they kept the V12 and matched it with a DCT.
If Koenigsegg can create the Lightspeed, surely Aston has the budget for a DCT.
Just a stunning car in and out; congrats to the engineers and design team. It's going to be an great success for you
