    Meet the all-new Aston Martin DB12 Volante!
    Mat’s got his hands on this new drop-top GT, and he’s about to see how this car has evolved compared to the DB11 Volante, while also seeing if it can compare with class leaders like the Roma Spider!
    For starters, let’s check out the exterior design, and it’s no surprise that it looks absolutely fantastic! The rear end may be relatively similar to the DB11, but that’s no bad thing! It’s slightly wider than the previous edition, and the new tail light design looks absolutely great. Along the side, the car comes with 21-inch alloys, and it also comes with pop-out door handles, aggressive side skirts and frameless side mirrors.
    Along the front, the car has had a total design overhaul. The clamshell bonnet is gone, and it’s instead made of several different panels. There are loads of vents, matrix LED headlights, and the trademark huge grille at the front.
    Step inside and the interior’s had a total overhaul. There’s an all-new infotainment system, and redesigned centre console with loads of physical buttons and rollers, and naturally the interior is covered in swathes of leather and aluminium panels. The seats are also super comfortable, but don’t expect adults to fit into the rear seats!
    Under the bonnet, you’ll find an AMG 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 680hp and 800Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and Aston Martin claims it can hit 60mph in 3.6 seconds.
    The all-new DB12 Volante starts from £205,000, but is it worth it? Stick with Mat to see for yourself!

      Mat is just a hater because Mercedes doesn’t cater to him anymore. Mercedes isn’t in a decline either. When Lexus hit in the 90’s and sold so many vehicles at a much lower price of the average Mercedes, they had no choice but to try and compete by lowering prices which translated into lower quality obviously. They also took a hit on models that aren’t built in Germany anymore. Americans just don’t build cars like the Germans.

    The front end looks very One-77ish, which is no bad thing. The rear deck is lovely too. A very subtle detail is how low the tonneau cover is compared to cars like the Portofino, which is rather hunchbacked with the roof down. The interior is a triump too. The DB11 was a big and necessary step to move away from the copy & paste range that went before and this is just the evolution that the platform needed.
    As for the V12 - 95% of people wont care.

    What's the deal with those back 'seats' is it a regulatory thing for tax reasons or something? Why not make it just a 2 person car with more easy storage space instead for grand touring, would definitely look better then this half assed attempt trying to make it look like a 4 seater.

    • @rbarbetta1978
      @rbarbetta1978 17 дней назад +3

      Sure does help for insurance. Insurance premiums for a 4 seater vs a 2 seater make a big difference. My Evora S had back seats that were basically just used for storage. My Emira has a storage shelf, making it a true 2 seater. Insurance is almost triple.

    The AM has always been gorgeous, its paint is flawless. Wider is better! This model is even cooler than the one it replaces. US buyers are aware of the car’s mechanical or electrical issues. It’s a shame really bc the car deserves the standing it commands when you see it up close. I’ve always dreamed of having an Aston, in lieu of a Ferrari or some other expensive supercar. It’s just beautiful. I hope AM stays with the V8 and continues to improve on this incredible work of art.

      @deputydd4364 17 дней назад

      I agree. But also to add. Having to use multiple screens/buttons to switch off auto lane assist, auto speed warnings etc is a REQUIREMENT of NCAP/Legislations. They specifically state you are not allowed to simply press a button once (or same one twice) to switch them off! So anyone who actually is a competent driver and wants to turn them off is forced to dig into the menus every time!
