An exterior should have paint with a high level of finish. None of the standard cars do now and that only works because current buyers know no different.
@@mitchellsteindler ha ha really ? I haven’t seen it in some of the other reviewers but interesting if that’s the case since the car matches Sam’s ? So based on Sam’s other work I’d be surprised.
I’ve never seen a manufacturer give footage to reviewers for their own videos like this-especially if it’s not a paid ad placement. I have seen them make footage available for things like social posts when content creators aren’t filming full drives or don’t have the capability (Or they aren’t passionate about cinematography). I’d be willing to wager any amount that this is all Sam’s footage. Just as a bit of background: I’ve worked with a number of major autos on commercial shoots and vehicle launches over the last 10 years (Jaguar, Land Rover, Alfa, Ford, Genesis, Maserati, etc).
I’ve watched other RUclipsr reviews of the DB12 already, but yours was so much better! You put so much effort into b roll and fly-bys. Great review, Sam! Love your videos!
Sam, I hope you see this message: I have watched you since the Alfa 4c days (and have met you a couple of times at events over the years), and must express how I have really been enjoying your content more than ever in the past few months. For me you have really hit your niche in the delivery of your content, there’s a unique consistency in your style where I know I will enjoy a new upload before I press play. Much in the same way Andy Wilman and Jeremy Clarkson have done for years across multiple programs. Big thumbs up 👍🏻
I am glad that you received a sneak peak of this car to share with us. The color combination of interior and exterior is stunning. Handling of this Aston looks great as intently designed. I Hope the super GT grabs the harts and minds of the buyers! Thank you!!!
'I don't think the French nail their coffee' - says the guy who rates Starbucks! Great video Sam, as always - the looks of the car are amazing and the inside is super nice. Exciting times - I'm glad to see AM have upped their game.
As I recall, the current head of Aston Martin used to head up Ferrari. (He took several engineers with him) His departure might be why Ferrari didn't go that way.
The only new car reviews worth watching! Always the highest quality and most entertaining vids (and then good old doug for the quirks and features of course)
You know what Sam, your videos really hit the mark when I'm feeling a bit stressed, unsellted and can't focs. Excellent quality, the cars we all love, smooth muic and coffee. Perfect!

Bravo Sam! Watched most of the other content on this press drive and you are up there (which when you consider some of the branded peeps out there….you have smashed it) great view and optics.
The interior is a major improvement, however a V12 would have made it the perfect GT ..err ST. The 5.2L V12 was already making about 700hp in the AM Speedster and given what Lamborghini and Ferrari are doing with their V12's, AM should have kept theirs as well.
They wouldn't have been able to hit the driving dynamics that all the reviewers have been raving about with another 100 kg in the nose of the car. While they definitely seem to have done yeoman's work with the damping, it's also pretty clear that they needed every ounce of that weight distribution effort to get to the 52-48 rear-biased weight distribution with the true front-mid alignment. I suspect that they'll need to make some _very_ expensive materials and packaging choices to get a future DBS to match or exceed this level of driving dynamics while including a V12.
@@alistairwillock7266 To an extent yes, the driving dynamics would have been affected but that's something would still be considered liveable given the type of car it is.
There are RUclips car releases and then there are STG car releases 🔥 this video is both a pleasure to watch and is super informative. Keep it up, Sam 🙌🏼
Awesome video Sam for a Sunday. . Crazy see this car with a v8 twin turbo vs the v12. But v8 saves weight in fuel ⛽️ mileage that a positive. What a trip to be own amazing roads and beautiful hotel.
I don't know how you manage to stay so relaxed at the end while negotiating Casino Square, chatting away! I'd probably be drenched in sweat, wondering if someone is going to scrape the car, drive into me, jump out etc..!
I mean,… just the baseline of your cinematography is really exceptional. I love when you get carried away. Those 70 seconds on the Golden Eye Road from 14:35 are pure joy and nothing short of phenomenal. The noise of that thing breathing when you floor it after the roundabout just makes me giggle all day. Simple but awesome POV on that sequence. Please more of that. So.. not just the DB12, but You! as well hit it right out of the park with every new video! Thank You, Sam🙏 This the way
From what I've seen from you and other reviews I think this car would be at the top of my list for a car in this class. An 812 is still going to be a more visceral experience but for 80% of the driving the DB12 seems like at least it's equal if not a better car with killer looks (and for far less money). BTW, that opening scene with all glass and no handrail freaked me out. I'll stay inside! 😱
For my money, the DB12 is a true super tourer. All reviews are very positive and the design inside and out are marvelous. I was lucky to see one, and sit in it, at AM Boston. Very luxurious! Thank you Sam, for your top quality videos.
Is it wierd that I want this car and I'm only 26? I've always loved a car to be comfortable and luxurious on the inside with a sporty nature, I could not imagine spending 300k on a car, to feel broken after 100 miles of driving it, because there is just no comfort. Feeling comfortable and getting a great kick out of the power of the engine is just the most beautiful balance.
Interesting to see Sam praising the centre console buttons. Pretty sure it's not that long ago he moaned about all the centre console buttons on the Macan when in conversation with Tony!
Sold... I like it and it goes on my bucket list! Great Video. My first of Seen thru Glass was when you did the SL65 Blk Series, boy was that epic! Thank you so much.
Sam your filming, editing and general video quality has got so much better on your channel it's making every video so enjoyable and it's genuinely puts you right at the top of UK car youtubers if not world! love this content mate
Wow. This was a top notch production from yourself Sam, loved the editing on this one. A real creative effort with lots of flair - you make it look easy! Brilliant!
For a drive across the US the Turbo S is at the top of my fantasy list but this thing is gorgeous and capable. I really like what I am hearing about the DB12.
It's classically Aston Martin for a new DB to have very similar styles to a previous though, I think people (even Aston) seem to be forgetting this. The most icon of Aston's, the DB5, was almost identical to the 4 only being slightly longer and with a slightly different sloping boot, with the 6 being only slightly longer still and the first to introduce the classic Aston ducktail spoiler, but most will struggle to tell those 3 apart. And then there's the DB9 GT, which like the 12 was a combination of the DB9 and DBS, and should really have been named DB10 and continued for a couple years longer. So I don't think it's wrong or bad that the 12 keeps that 11 backside, though I do wish they had reintroduced the ducktail for it
Maybe they don't want to mess with the formula - to me, it's only the mass car manufacturers that have to change their design every 18 month's?! If it ain't broke, don't fix it?!?
Well, I’m DEFINITELY staying at the Maybourne Monte Carlo hotel!!! What a view!! I wish you showed us your lunch at the chateau! ……..like you said, Aston went ALL OUT!
