It's sad to see the V12 gone from the regular DB series cars but at least the DBS still uses a V12. There's an argument to be made that limiting the V12 to the top of the brands lineup makes the power train even more special.
I’m hearing the V12 comes back for both the Vantage and DB12 after the Vanquish. There are some spy shots of a DB12 with quad exhausts

I feel that the sound insolation is the key on these cars to know how good is a car build and I don't hear this enough in reviews

Aston Martin makes some of the most gorgeous sports cars ever!!! Who disagrees? One thing i hate though: the digital rpm needle is laggy and stuttering AF!!! That is a shame for a luxury coupe like this! The only i accept cars with digital clusters is if they're super super superrrrr smooth and zero lag! Else, stay in mechanical if you can.
Watching this , I must say , your reviewing style is fresh , informative , thorough.....Listening to the stereo while driving is real-world , yet you don't see it in most reviews...In regard's the car ! it's a beautiful masterpiece for me , with Supercar performance on command. As you say , the little foible's give the car character and personality ; unless said foible's descend into unreliability. We don't want that !!.....Aston Martin are on a roll , with the new v12 Vanquish halo car just announced. And as the creator of Supercar's / GT's in the classical Coupe bodyshell , I can only be a fan.

Next time you get to sample a car like this, take it out down Huron River Drive between Ann Arbor and Dexter.
Going out towards Hell, Stockbridge, Gregory, and Pinckney have some incredible roads for fun cars too. Elevation, winding curves and esses, banking, and combinations of all of those.
Our V12 dreams shall hopefully be realized tomorrow my good sir 😌 all will be Vanquished

The Vanquish, DB9 or rapide for that matter sounded way better…another era I guess…that reminds me of Alfa Romeo tag line years ago in Europe ‘some cars still have a soul’

Driving a celebrity
I love powerful V8’s, but it has to be mentioned that when you add turbos they tend to muddy the sound. I’m happy it’s not a 6cyl and will take this over that any day even if it’s dead silent.
Would you take this to live with or a Bentley Continental?

This car is absolutely stunning. DB12 as tested is $315K, so you might want to bring deep pockets. I'm guessing a V12 will come to the United States (and other select markets) eventually. Just a guess. How much will they be asking for that, if and when? Half million? 🥶😰

A softer suspension affords more mechanical grip than a stiffer one, generally speaking.
for street use where the roads are bumpy yes. on a smooth surface stiffer is better because it minimizes elastic weight transfer

I dont know but, the sound of the V8 is awful? Or is it the recording quality, this sounds like a bad video game implementation. But man, its really beautiful.
To me the engine sounds kind of gruff, not entirely pleasing.

Highway road noise through wind and tire sound seems quite high for a luxury product.
Gorgeous design overall! I recall sticking my head in a new Aston a few years ago, and the scent from the leather was sublime.
Turbos, they behave like mufflers and give muddy sounds to everything they go on. AMG, Aston, BMW, etc etc all sound muddy compared to the days of the NA V8/10/12 stuff.
