This is THE BEST VIDEO EVER 😆😆😆 The rolling race was hilarious, and the braking distance of the hummer is comparable to a school bus breaking distance 😬😬
More like the worst video ever 😆😆😆 Imagine mentioning that the Hummer has a bigger engine and implying that alone should be the determining factor while completely ignoring the 2 ton weight difference 😬😬 The question is, would you rather have a tiny claustrophobic death trap clown car that can be blown away by a breeze, or a proper sized SUV that can fit your entire family, load it up with groceries, and still survive driving through a puddle which would render the jimny unusable. The proper comparison here would've been the jimny vs Willys Jeep.
@@myownsite The jimny and other claustrophobic tiny death trap clown cars? Yes those don't belong on the roads. The Hummer on the other hand can fit your entire family, load it up with groceries, and still survive driving through a puddle. Once the owner fixes those brakes it'll work perfectly.
Japanese and American attitudes on road safety portrayed beautifully in that braking test. You know only OTHER people will die when that Hummer fails to stop, so it's not a problem you see.
This H2 and the other one featured in an off road episode both have : 6 liter engine that makes 345hp with 4 gears tranny. Not 400hp 6.2L with 6 gears. GET UR FACTS STRIGHT MATT
@@rian0xFFF That is incorrect. Just as an example, the 4.5l V8 in the Ferrari 458 has 562HP, the 5l V8 in the Ford Mustang Darkhorse has 500HP. European V8s don't have the turbos for power, but for extra torque, way lower fuel consumption and lower emmissions compared to the US counterparts.
Hummer specs are WRONG WRONG! That is an earlier 6.0L H2 ( 4 Speed Transmission) not the later 6.2L model with the 6 Speed. The 6.2L H2 was 2008 and 2009 only. The 6.0L was only 325hp and 365tq and way slower with the 4 speed. C'mon guys!
I wouldn't be making any fuss over it being a 6 litre that puts out barely over 300hp. Those are 2L 4cyl numbers. Same with the 6.2L and it's meagre 400hp. Sure 400hp is nothing to snuff at, but still, there are stock 2L 4cyl out there that will put out 375.
@@fermitupoupon1754 There are way more factors to consider than a peak HP number between a 2L 4cyl and a 6L V8. For starters the 4cyl requires a turbo to achieve those numbers so it's not a fair comparison. If you add a turbo to 6L LS v8 you'd make at the very least 500+ hp. Then you also have the difference in torque numbers and more importantly, the power curve. Higher displacement engines will produce way more torque at low rpm's than a 4cyl and carry that high torque pretty linearly through the entire rev range. For comparison the 6.0 putting out 300hp comes off of idle making 300 lb ft of torque immediately and max of 365 at peak. The 300hp 2L will barely make 100lb ft off idle and slowly climb up to less torque at max than the 6.0 started with. Meaning even though they have the same peak hp the 6.0 is producing way more power overall. I have encountered this irl as well. My coworker thought the same years ago. He had an early 2000s 3.0 v6 manual Accord coupe and I had a 2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4 with the 4.0 inline 6cyl. After talking about our cars and telling him the jeep is quicker than you'd think, he said I wouldn't stand a chance in a race against his accord. We looked up the specs and the accord had 230hp and the jeep has 195hp plus the jeep weighed like 800 lbs more. So I agreed he would probably be faster and we left it there. But we eventually had an impromptu race leaving work one day at the same time. He took off squealing tires in front of me so I took off after him and whipped around in front of him at the u turn a few hundred yards down the highway. So we get a clearing and we take off and I floor it. He stays right on my ass the whole time. I let off at 110 and we go our separate ways. The next day I asked him why he didn't try and pass me. He said he couldn't and had it floored the whole time.
ABS does not make the vehicle brake better - it simply prevents the wheels from locking up under heavy braking, thus allowing you to still be able to steer. You should *technically* be able to brake in a shorter distance without ABS modulation provided you don't lock up...
1st sentence, you're correct, ABS prevents locking the wheels onto the surface, so you still can steer away from obstacles, and also distribute between front and rear wheels.that's all. Usually longer breaking distance. (Hummer driver has no idea what he's talking about, and a danger on the road as he finds this breaking distance ok) 2nd sentence 1st part correct. is lock or no lock shorter ?: it depends on resistance (break pads/discs vs tires/roadsurface): sometimes (most times ?) locking up the wheels will give you shorter breaking distance !
Theoretically yes, if you manage to not lock up your wheels, braking distance could be shorter, BUT most people panic and press the brake pedal even harder when wheels lock up and car starts to skid, which lovers the braking force thus giving the feeling of the brakes are failing, which explains why people depress the brake pedal even harder. So, in most cases ABS actuated braking will be shorter than ABS not actuated braking, Unless you are a professional racing driver 😊
@1wasinAlpha @ugge101 in NO case ever does braking distance get shorter when wheels lock up! It increases by almost 50%! I could experience that for myself many times over my years of go-karting and you can try that for yourself on a track, or with your car ona lonely road if your car allows turning off the ABS. Please inform yourself and srop spreading this dangerous misconception! Also, ABS regulates brake pressure to every wheel individually as fast the physical parts can possibly move, no human can ever outperform this precision, as evidenced by the favt that Formula 1 braking distances were the shortest they've ever been during the seasons when ABS was used.
I have an 06 Hummer H2 and that one is a first gen (03-07) which has the 6.0L V8 and 4 speed transmission. The second gen (08-09) has the 6.2L V8 and 6 speed transmission
The power window trick - operating all windows with one button - is really cool and probably unique, for closed body vehicles. But every convertible has the same, at least all the ones I owned the last 15 years.
The Hummer stats are all wrong. It's a 6.0L V8, not a 6.2L. It's a 4 speed auto, not a 6 speed. That is, unless someone swapped out the OEM engine & trans.

I can't believe that a "car guy" wouldn't know that he could manually shift his automatic transmission. I do it almost daily in my 4.0 jeep wj.
I love how in the 1st race the h2 driver looks at the little jimny and says NO!, that was enough to make it lose
That hummer has the shittiest stopping power I’ve ever seen. Jesus Christ 😰
Brakes were already shot so it definitely is not that bad
that tank/truck weight almost 3 tones empty, need to be six wheeled not four and use air brake
Definitely wouldn't want that hummer behind you on the motorway.
You'd emergency stop and it'd push you into another county.
If it doesn't override your rear bumper and entire vehicle first..
They don't belong on roads
@@myownsite The jimny and other claustrophobic tiny death trap clown cars? Yes those don't belong on the roads. The Hummer on the other hand can fit your entire family, load it up with groceries, and still survive driving through a puddle. Once the owner fixes those brakes it'll work perfectly.
@@DesertStateInEU if your family needs a hummer to fit in, maybe time to start commuting by walking or cycling
Those brakes were already shot
4:09 you want us to do what on you???
I love the Jimny design so much.
There is no reason that stopping distance should be legal
you have to switch on your headlights in some Japanese brands to get the car washers to work .
Hummers are for a "special kind of men". Don't want to call them idiots, but...
I like the Jimmy more.
Japanese and American attitudes on road safety portrayed beautifully in that braking test. You know only OTHER people will die when that Hummer fails to stop, so it's not a problem you see.
I love to see Mat's growth. From buying a Jimny to daily driving an RS7 ♥
1:48 This thing sounds better than the 911 turbo s 😂😐..
You wonder why I like offroaders....
Yeah, but it's modified, and modified 911 Turbo S sounds also very very good
So true 😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
I’m watching this as comedic content at this point 😂😂😂😂

That’s an insult towards the Jimny!
@@MigV40Very true, but to be fair. When they side by side, the Hummer made the the Jimny look like a Barbie Jeep. 😂
Typical chapri Indian comment😂
The thumbnail looked like if shaq and kevin if they were cars😂
That Hummer is going to kill someone if they don't fix those brakes.
Actually the jimny did a great job 👏
I didn’t expect that
This H2 and the other one featured in an off road episode both have : 6 liter engine that makes 345hp with 4 gears tranny. Not 400hp 6.2L with 6 gears.
GET UR FACTS STRIGHT MATT
This irked me on the other tests as well. My brother in law has the 6.2 with the 6 speed and for its size it’s quite quick
Auto generated captions are great when the Hummer revs…

1, 5 little Jinmi superb
Hummer is a V8 but its an American V8 so very underpowered.... Truest words I've heard in a long time lol...
Well it's an old american V8. Modern american V8s are just fine.
@@senzelian Not against their European counterparts
@blazzz13 European V8 needs turbos to get the same power as naturally aspirated V8 Americans
@@rian0xFFF lmao, your off your trolley mate 🤣🤣 in Europe we prefere a V10 or V12...
3:25 probably only when the lights are on, same on my old Nissan
He is to stupid and unprofessional to know that basic thing.
After watching too many Carwow videos, seeing these two cars cross the finish line, feels like watching them in slow-mo 😅
The Jimny's headlight washer only activates when the headlights are turned on.
Now make a drag race between a G63 and that Hummer 😎
but not a G63 cus itll win too easy it should be the lowest spec G instead
10:16 why are you running 🤣🤣
ABS does not make the vehicle brake better - it simply prevents the wheels from locking up under heavy braking, thus allowing you to still be able to steer. You should *technically* be able to brake in a shorter distance without ABS modulation provided you don't lock up...
1st sentence, you're correct, ABS prevents locking the wheels onto the surface, so you still can steer away from obstacles, and also distribute between front and rear wheels.that's all. Usually longer breaking distance. (Hummer driver has no idea what he's talking about, and a danger on the road as he finds this breaking distance ok)
2nd sentence 1st part correct. is lock or no lock shorter ?: it depends on resistance (break pads/discs vs tires/roadsurface): sometimes (most times ?) locking up the wheels will give you shorter breaking distance !
@@ugge101 Too many variables to say "most times". We can agree on sometimes, though. 🙂
@@1wasinAlpha most times when wheels lock up, the breaking distance is shorter than when not.
Nah its not swapped, you can tell from the engine view. They just got it all wrong.
It’s even 5.8L
It depends on the year of the Hummer. For the 2008 mode year, the H2 got a powertrain update, with a 6.2L V8 and 6-speed auto.
@@hakeemsd70m as he said in that rolling start race, that the car shifted up to fourth at 75mph, i guess that was the final gear available

Great features and presentation and always by Matt. I've been thinking, who does Matt remind me of. Firstly I thought it was a lad from school, but then tonight, I watched Rising Damp.... Rigsby!!!!😂

Hummer is giving me mad NFS Underground 2 vibes! Sounds amazing ❤
Fun fact (not fun): My grandfather exchanged his Hyundai with a Jimny with a guy named nolbat and got by winning a fishing competition and recently he crashed it. Dont worry he is okay. My grandfather was driving home with his jimny at night after fishing somewhere and crashed with a truck. Because the truck was parked and had no lights on, he crashed into it (My grandfather) with his 2 or 3 other friends and all of them survived! He said ,'I didnt see the truck' and crashed into it!
Note: this happened in India
If the Jimny's anything like the Lexus I had before, the headlights have to be on for the headlight washers to work. It's to prevent it from wasting washer fluid when your headlights aren't on.
After the braking test, I decided to never have a Hummer driving behind me.
Because in the event of urgent braking , it would destroy like 5-6 cars in front of him.
Good, now i know that if a Hummer is riding behind me, the chances of getting rear ended are pretty big😂
