I have heard a bunch of people say they stopped putting fuel filters on 5.3 chevys in 2007 is this true?
ive heard about this too, i have a 2010 Silverado 1500 4.8, i keep finding posts saying that the fuel filter is "inside the tank" if it really is, than ima be pissed because i gotta take it into a shop just to change a effing filter, cuz i aint dropping the tank myself lol
@@juansome5440 in the tank is a fancy way of saying there isn’t one. Just the normal screen on the pick up
Where is the location of the fuel filter on a 2008 standard cab short bed 4.3 L Chevy Silverado?
Should be in the exact same location right around the driver side frame rail near the front of the gas tank
it's in the tank and not replaceable.
hey brother does the 2008 chevy silverado 1500 LT 5.3 liter have a fuel filter? i know some years dont have them, i looke under my truck and cant seem to find the dang thing? do i need to re-look again?

What model truck is this? I have a 2011 4.8 and I heard the filter is in the tank..
This was a 5.3 . All you have to do is look underneath the vehicle at the frame rail and it will be there I can’t say for certain on your model but I’m pretty sure it does because it should be identical or very very close

I can't get my filter off either... Can I just cut the fuel lines on both sides and just instalva standard fuel filter with male nipples and rubber fuel lines and clamps
I would not do that . The lines will pop off all the time ... thrust me I’ve been there done that

Have you ever looked underneath a Truck before?
You’re obviously not very educated about vehicles that’s OK, But with your inability to Look underneath your truck I doubt this message is going to help you but it may help others that are thinking the same way as you are…..
So ya See there’s these big companies out there, they make vehicles. they make probably 10 to 15 different model vehicles, that look very similar on the outside but or a little bit different on the outside …….. but the real thing is that underneath them they’re all the same ……… why would they do that?
And in this huge conspiracy about making things called profits they really only make 6 to 9 different types of vehicles…… and underneath these. 6 to 9 different types of vehicles, they make them the same because they can make more Profits, By making 1 million of one part they make more money , then making 100,000 of one part 6 to 9 different ways of a different part…….. and if they make the same vehicle for a number of years. like in this situation making the same chassis for 2 or 3 Decades , (that’s 30 years for you ignorant type folk) The parts get cheaper and cheaper………. If you look underneath a 1998 Chevy Silverado and a 2017 Chevy Silverado , GMC whatever or even a Ford or a Dodge you’re going to find that the fuel filter location is pretty much the same and in damn near the same location……. Hell the thing looks the damn same since the mid-80s.
You may not know this because you didn’t take a couple of moments to look underneath your truck but shoot they’re almost in the exact same location underneath all of them……

So sometimes on RUclips we think that the people that are looking for these types of vehicles aren’t stupid……. And sometimes were wrong………
Don’t worry though later in life you’ll start putting two into together and figure things out. For now this type of procedure should be handled by a professional just like this situation…..
So it doesn’t matter where it’s located . Because if you’re unable to look underneath your vehicle you’re probably more than likely not able to replace the fuel filter yourself.

You can do that on older carb models but not fuel injection unless your gonna use barbed fittings and double clamps because pressure is too high
