This anti camera aggression will not stand, man. What is their science behind that?
I would guess that they don't want to have videos all over youtube where the people are "too close" to each other, not wearing masks or stuff like that.
If they put on the race, show how careful they are in the live coverage and it isn't an outbreak, it will be good for the possibilities of next season, and the RUclips videos showing normal behavior would be bad
@Nick Maclachlan well, I don't know how they contain the people involved, but say that one guy goes to the grocery store or a restaurant and then something goes wrong.. etc.
But that's not the point I want to make, I think that they can be more okay with people taking their own measure precautions if they know that they won't be filmed doing so, and with filming allowed they would have to have stricter rules for everyone and people working eith enforcing them!
I'm just speculating aswell, but that's just why I would assume this decision has come to be.
@@Lylisuvanto Nothing to do with covid, World Champs are notoriously locked down for media for some stupid reason, even for Red Bull. I think there was an episode of Fast Life where it was a huge part of the story and they just glossed over it like it was nothing, because they couldn't show a single clip. It's just the UCI being UCI.

Is it a blanket ban on filming or just videographers coming in and filming? As someone has mentioned, rig some cameras in the pits on tripods and just edit in the evening.
I can hold the camera for you, let me know if you need some support. I'm in Munich so not that far away.

@@bostondonmtb indeed it is. It has to be either the UCI or both tho. They're really the only two bodies that have control over media coverage

While I can understand the frustration you're experiencing being told you can't get permission to go into the pits to film, it's not a surprise after having watched the Nuevo Mesto coverage where there were no extraneous people allowed in the pits there as part of the countries Covid-19 measures, especially after 5 people tested positive there.
As others said, maybe put action cameras on Jordie and the rest of the mechs, could get an interesting edit using that, but could also place a few stationary cameras about the place for additional angles/footage. Also as you said, could use Jordies laptop to do live FT calls and just "sit in" when he's going over/through the setup with the riders.
That just sucks, stealth filming got to be the way ahead, if everyone has tested negative there should be no issue.

Jake and Jordi, this seems kinda odd. Have you gotten a REAL explanation from UCI, is this a local issue, or a UCI issue? I know there are other filmmakers there, have you talked to them about their credentials? Mondraker with TJ Miller, the Pivot team, Athertons probably have someone there filming. Did you guys miss a deadline for credentials? I hope it gets worked out. We need your daily content.
