If they do bring back Skylanders, I hope they bring back that inexplicable, mystical children’s fairytale like vibe they nailed in SSA. Sure theres a bunch of silly moments like the sheep, Flynn and Kaos initially but then you build the core of light, meet anything having to do with the Arkeyans or actually get to Kaos castle and they still get presented with some genuine weight behind them. The music I think encapsulates the vague thing im trying to say. First impression of Kaos is that he’s mostly all comedy and talk without being a threat but then you get to his castle, and that level’s music is genuinely imposing yet invigorating. an instant classic!
For a while I was wondering what my primary issue with Imaginators was, but this comment hits the nail on the head. When your two climactic bosses are a guacamole golem and a DBZ reference, and the side characters won’t shut up or take anything remotely seriously, you wonder why you should take anything seriously. Every game before (even superchargers, the game everyone dogpiles on despite it being way better than most people remember) had some gravitas and stakes to the plot and knew when to let humor take a backseat for a time.
I would love if they rerconned imagiantors and leaned into the storytelling potential of the franchise. Some of the lore in the games is really deep. Clint eastwood as Nattybumpo, anyone?
I also thought that, but I just really like the idea of the crossover characters being the OG starter pack set. But then again, they could do multiple crossovers if the first one went well so who knows!

Because, ever since the two elements were introduced in Trap Team, then to Superchargers and Imaginators, they overall had the *LEAST* amount of Skylanders! Sure you may argue that its because they are considered *rare* elements, but looking back, their executions felt pretty poor. So, not only will my spin-off bring back the Skylanders franchise, but also give the dark and light elements more love and attention! Here's the storyline: the villainess your up against is: Empress Eclipta! She was once a noble drow witch who like the many drows, served under Kaos' rule in conquering Skylands! However, as many times Kaos failed, it would cause Eclipta to be outraged as much as Kaos gets angry. So, in order to become more powerful enough to best Skylanders, Eclipta went off and discovered a book which makes her master "eclipse magic"! First, she started to master solar magic, then later on she practiced lunar magic. After her years of manipulating solar and Lunar magic, her main goal was to absorb the energies of both the sun and the moon, in order to merge both day and night, and create a total destructive "annular eclipse" it'll *ERADICATE* all of Skylands!!! You Portal Master must stop her, before she makes the sun and moon become one (day and night CAN'T dwell together)! The roster of the Skylanders will be 32 (similar to the SSA roster, but also includes the "gimmick"landers) (16 each for the two elements) which consists of Eight Core Skylanders One Giant Two Swap Force (the new Swapabilities will be Gravitate and Rhythm) One Trap Master Two Minis One Supercharger One Sensei (Light Bazooker and Dark Quickshot) Also, I plan on bringing back PVP battle mode, Heroic Challenges, Raceway (only for Sea and Sky, excluding Land because it only associates with Fire, Earth, Tech and Undead), basically *everything* From the past six installments, but put in a dark and light standpoint. Lastly, Knight Light, Spotlight, Blackout, Knight Mare, Astroblast, Nightfall, Aurora, Star Cast, Hood Sickle and Blaster Tron will be workable *and* playable in the game! So, what do you think? If they do happen to bring back skylanders, one of my biggest wishes is hoping they would bring back the toys-to-life aspect. Something about going to the store to buy physical figures and placing them on the portal of power so you can play as that figure has so much charm and gives me that special feeling I had as a teen. Plus this gimmick was one of the main reasons why the franchise was so successful.

In my personal opinion, Skylanders requires a lot of effort and even changes in gameplay to attract a new audience. Under the changes, I believe that the fashion for buying full-fledged character figures is already outdated, so it is still risky and expensive. Now any transactions take place through services like Steam, and therefore the production of Skylanders live is a big waste of budget that could be spent on the development of the game itself and gameplay. Therefore, despite the fact that I love Skylanders for their figure mechanics, I unfortunately have to say that it is a BAD idea to bring them back into service as well (but I will talk about this later). That's why we love this series. For a lamp-like, to some extent, insane fantasy world where almost anything can happen and anyone can live. Skyland is endless and the game can be safely come up with a completely independent plot from the main franchise. Many people have already offered ideas in the comments that can be thought up, not based entirely on the story of the fight against Kaos. Here is my idea of creating a series: Creating a diverse action platformer in the likeness of Swap Force. The player will be given control of 8 Skylanders from each of the main eight elements (choose for yourself to invent new ones or take from an existing set). The main plot of the game should be an independent work (in this case, it is not necessary even to return Kaos to the plot, you can come up with another villain, as I know in the world of Skylanders there is Malifor besides Spyro and Cynder himself).
As much as desired, I don't think Skylanders are going to return. It's highly unlikely Spyro will have more games, even The Legend series remasters and it's even more unlikely Skylanders will be recognized. The only possible miracle is Spyro's Adventure and Giants remasters,some new mobile game and just maybe one new game in the series. If being honest, "toys to life" mechanic is not popular with today's kids when there's Steam, Nintendo Switch and most notably mobile games. There's just no desire to go buy figures when you can unlock them for coins or something else in the game

I hope it does come out. I enjoyed it so much as a kid. If my consoles still worked I'd let my kid play games like it too when I get one because skylanders will always remain as one of the top games I ever played in my life time. I can't forget the moment I placed the skylander down on the portal. It was so epic and made me feel so good. That was the start the adventure of me and the skylanders I wished to collect started. They aren't made so feel it will be quite some trouble to bring it back given that the figures costed like I think $60. I can't remember but they were a lot for just one when I was a kid.
They also are saying its possible Toys for Bob could bring back Banjo Kazooie, which imo is more likely considering their recent lineup being older games that are remade for modern consoles. But skylanders coming back does seem relatively possible, someday. Maybe another decade...

Maybe expand it to a gimmick spanning every dragon Skylanders (aside from Fire Kraken being a member of the Swap Force). Spyro and Cynder specifically would be reclassified under the Aether element from LoS and regain their abilities from LoS (Cynder would retain her spectral Lightning though) and which elemental breath they have toggled (switching elemental abilities would be through pressing left and right on the d-pad) would enable them to open that element’s elemental gate. Spyro and the other Skylanders with Dark variants would be able to transform into their dark form and out by pressing up on the d-pad. The main gimmick for the dragon Skylanders would be replacing hats throughout the games. The dragon Skylanders would be able to collect Traptanium armor for them to wear. The armor can be toggled on and off by pressing down on the d-pad. The d-pad wasn’t used for gameplay until Superchargers for vehicle customization, so it is possible.
It's definitely possible, it used to be a rather big franchise. But not under Activision, or at least current Activision. They'll turn it into a marketing scheme again. And they'd need to revisit some of the story, because the last two games were really...questionable in that regard.

Of course, skylanders can come back. All they have to do is get rid of toy requirement and make it so that you can unlock more Skylanders through in-game means.
I also think this is the right decision. It may have been the hallmark of the series, but now it looks more like a funny quirk of its time, but returning it is an extremely risky idea, at least from the point of view of finances and the budget of the game. It is easier to make a set of characters in the game itself and link them as a character pack (similar to Mortal Kombat) or make a separate currency that players can receive through tests or other activities (it is noteworthy that during the passage of the plot you would get one skylander for each element).
The "all fired up" is not a Skylander refence it's a Spyro refence he Said in the first Game tho there is a hat in Rumble that has the undead Logo so there is that

I'd definitely agree with that. The skylanders show for example is definitely heavily leaned towards children with not much enjoyment coming out of it if you're older than 13.
As much as i love the seris i wouldnt want the toys to come back cus i already cant play imaginations due to some of the characters costing 200 quid. Id be down for a remaster of the 6 games and it be so u could play them without the portal but i wouldnt really care if it got a new entry. I just don’t think toys to life is profitable so why would any company bring it back whether it is activision or Microsoft. There’s no point to the game if they don’t have actual skylanders figures and if they can’t sell those then there isn’t a game and that’s why the franchise is dead cuz nobody wants 100 thousand skylanders that all cost 20 dollars for one character

It may have been the hallmark of the series, but now it looks more like a funny quirk of its time, but returning it is an extremely risky idea, at least from the point of view of finances and the budget of the game. It is easier to make a set of characters in the game itself and link them as a character pack (similar to Mortal Kombat) or make a separate currency that players can receive through tests or other activities (it is noteworthy that during the passage of the plot you would get one skylander for each element).

I'd love for them to bring back Skylanders just not for the show Academy route or Imaginators. I mean, the show and game were fine, but the other games were just Peak for me.
I'd definitely agree with that. The skylanders show for example is definitely heavily leaned towards children with not much enjoyment coming out of it if you're older than 13.

As much as i love the seris i wouldnt want the toys to come back cus i already cant play imaginations due to some of the characters costing 200 quid. Id be down for a remaster of the 6 games and it be so u could play them without the portal but i wouldnt really care if it got a new entry. Again i love the series but iv honestly spent way too much on it at this point and really dont wanna open that old addiction again

I just don’t think toys to life is profitable so why would any company bring it back whether it is activision or Microsoft. There’s no point to the game if they don’t have actual skylanders figures and if they can’t sell those then there isn’t a game and that’s why the franchise is dead cuz nobody wants 100 thousand skylanders that all cost 20 dollars for one character
