But if you find a scan tool that absolutely does every function on every manufacturer/model the tool would cost $$$$$$$$$$. I have found the tool to have fantastic on Euro, reasonable Asia (Mitsubishi released a couple of days ago), USA is very good. I believe this tool to be very good. Being able to do flash tuning (with manufactures subscription) is a real bonus. I think it's missing a step. When I unboxed my 908 Pro and hooked it up to a car, it immediately asked me to go online and communicate with autel. This is of course the first initial use of the device and that's what I saw, I was hoping this was a video that described exactly what takes place during this initial preliminary step.
Sometimes it is easier to create an account online at pro.autel.com/ Then once you connect the tool to the internet, enter the email and password for the Autel account and it will register the tool.
Omid Yaqubo umm, no. a $20 scan tool can't communicate via CAN and this is the very basic function of a scan tool. this is probably just a first impression video
short answer: maybe. Complicated to answer: there is a coverage and function list built into the tool but not all vehicles are covered comprehensively. Also, it depends on the vehicle. for instance, GM you can usually navigate in the vehicle right up until you ask for data or enter the bidirectional screen, but other vehicles (ford) you can't get into until it communicates with the vehicle. So, sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Sorry, sharing the Scan folder will not work as it comes from a tool with a different serial number. You will need to use the update function to restore your tool.
hi ya, can this unit be reset back to factory settings?? we have 1 and it has got a virus that locks everything .. can't do anything at all ... as the operating system is the same as an android fone it should be able to hard reset it ?? many thanks ... paul
so, at any time during the past 3 months did you do an Autel 'update' to the Maxisys or to the Bluetooth dongle (if it is a BT model,obviously doesnt apply to wired cable model)?? Did the problem start after an 'updatae' was done??

Autel are a shit company. I bought a maxidas 708 only to find undeclared import duties being charged on a seriously late order. Then the manul was in russian as was the computer when I'd switched it on. Then it wouldn't register, and the internet was so atiquated and prehistoric that it'd reminded me of a mobile phone ten years ago. Ok so i went direct to autel site, registered manually and the computer still kept asking me to register. "Damn this," i'd thought as I decided tonjust try the thing in my car. There was a quick start pamphlet sying I could and that was in English. The screen went blank. It displayed nothing. Yep faulty. So I contacted Autel UK and they said they wouldn't support me as the maxidas ds708 was no longer being manufactured or supported. Paypal agreed to refund me, only first I had to send the unit back to China. DHL said £178 pounds cheapest cost. So yes Autel are shit, and I recommend staying clear of them.
I have had this unit for almost a year now and have had nothing but PROBLEMS since the start. Wont commuunictae with a vast aray of vehicles, restarts on its own, gets stuck or freezes while running certian functions. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS UNIT TO NOONE! ITS 3000 DLS WORTH OF PLASTIC...
Nope its the same one as in the video, i was recently told that the main cable is the problem. Now I have to send it in and wait to see when it gets back and hope that fixes it.

Why the hell you need a camera in a vehicle diagnostic scan tool!?...doesnt make any sense.
to show the customer what may need to be fixed along with the report of the trouble. some shops do this and it's a good idea.
